Kylo wouldn't turn back to the light side. He killed his dad WITHOUT his idol, now imagine if Vader was there to intimidate/inspire him. No way Leia and Han survive.

Parker Seymour as we saw in "The Force Awakens", Kylo had trouble killing his father. He struggles with that fact although he may put up a façade of being proud of it. In "The Last Jedi" it was made more clear about that thought process when he could have very easily killed Leia, but his punk ass was too much of a momma's boy to do so lol. I think SW is on to something with his explanation, but I do think you are correct also in that likely Han Solo would probably die whether at the hands of Kylo or Vader.

What if Maul killed Kenobi instead of Jinn? What if Mace Windu waited for Yoda and Kenobi before assassinating Palpatine? What if Kenobi and Dooku aligned during episode 2? That was very elaborate and well-thought out. BUT, I don't think that the chain of events here is enough to explain Kylo ultimately choosing to save his parents, even with the detail that they both came specifically to rescue him. There IS such a thing as "too little, too late", and so many years of ressentiment would only increase his bitterness. Kylo would logically even be less inclined to betray Vader due to the fact that he ACTUALLY was mentored by him personally. He met his idol, was trained by him, and obtained a TREMENDOUS victory at his side. For him to truly consider throwing all that away, he would need to feel GUILT. He would need to be pushed to commit atrocities upon atrocities, kill and torture people over and over and realize just WHAT being a Sith truly meant. The weight of his conscience would make him a LOT more susceptible to his family's attempts to reach out to him.

man this is such an interesting question... I have to wonder whether or not this would be to Anakin's advantage or not. Meaning would it lessen the dark side influence on him or only make him more vulnerable to its grip? On one hand, his turning to the darkside was virtually dependent on the need to save Padme, at least in the beginning. On the other, Anakin was a person who deep down desired power. Who could blame him? He grew up a slave and wanted to save his mom by gaining power through his Jedi training. I personally believe Anakin might have chosen a different path, had his attachment for Padme not existed. However, it doesn't make me think less of his for having it to begin with. If anything it makes me look down on the Jedi Order for making such rules to begin with. I of course would be willing to hear other theories. I could see other scenarios of Anakin possibly turning to the darkside, given his mothers death, providing that plot point stays the same in your version of the story.

I think it would be interesting to explore. It could make it harder for Sidious to turn him because he would not have the fear of losing the one he loves but it would also mean he wouldn't be able to share his greif and struggles (such as losing his mother) with Padame so it could end up making him even darker because he would be holding onto his pain even more than he did in cannon.

+roland nikolai that would definitely make it more interesting and it would have made it even more difficult for Sidious to turn Anakin. He may try to make Anakin believe his mother was the one in danger of dying and that he could help save her as he did with Padame in cannon.

that doesn't any sense. Kilo Ren actually murdered Han Solo in real canon without his favorite role model influencing him, so why in the what if story that changes? Vader is actually alive and guiding him in person. If Kilo would kill his family for a stranger(Snoke), he would definitely kill for a family member that he idolizes.

Ben would not be call Kylo Ren. he would be called Darth something as he should be called if he were to become Vaders Apprentice. Knights of Ren (as I do not know much about) seem to work a little differently but not in the ways of the Sith but maybe still very similar.

75 years old isn't that old. Sidious was 86 when he messed up and killed Vader. So Vader would still be strong and younger during that time. Sidious would be 116 years old, that's old as fuck.

Why would Palpatine and Vader have to fall back after Endor? The only reason the Empire shattered was because of in-fighting since everyone wanted control since Palpatine didn't leave an heir in the case of his death. If the sith lords had survived, yes, the 2nd D.S. would still be destroyed, but the Empire's army and the Imperial navy would still overwelm the rebellion.

W.D. Gaster Exactly! I’m always surprised how some people assume the Rebellion being victorious at Endor automatically leads to the Empire losing all of its power and surrendering the galaxy to the rebels. Such people seem to forget that, even with the Emperor, his apprentice, many high ranking fleet officers and the Death Star all perishing at Endor, it still took years for the Rebellion to prevail over the Empire, with Imperial warlords fighting for power actually doing most of the work.

Without the death of the Emperor, I find it difficult to believe that the Empire would've ever fragmented. I also find it difficult to believe the Emperor would've allowed the Rebels to seize control of the galaxy, it doesn't seem to be his character.

Facts. Destroying the Death Star, yet leaving the emperor alive and the thousands of star systems he controlled would’ve done nothing to stop Sidious. Out of his thousands of Star Destroyers, he didn’t even lose twenty. Palpatine would’ve had the same control he did before arriving at the Death Star

The whole video I was hoping he didnt do the good guys always win cliche but he did. After fully corrupting his mind and being there for him, and being family to him he sees his mom and abruptly goes ok vader and kills him like wtf. the way that really wouldve happened is just like in VII when he killed han for snoke, snoke wasnt even family to him or nearly as powerful as vader and he killed his dad for him. TL;DR that ending plainly wouldnt have happened it was good guy cliche.

6:47 Why would Vader call him Kylo? In this continuity, that name makes no sense. He would instead have given him a Sith name preceded by the title of Darth, or even some other name, but surely not the exact same name that someone else gave him in the real continuity.

KingOfShadows1500 As in Ledgends many Sith rebirthed when the joined the Sith Order and choose the new name. Then (I’ll use Dessel/Bane as a example) Bane had to go through training for years and earn the name Darth. When Bane made the Rule of 2 they got the name Darth but still choose their new name. As Sidious was alive, like Bane, Vader’s Apprentice Was just named Kylo by Ben but not yet a Darth. Like The Huntress in Ledgends when Bane replaces Zannah, The Huntress choose the name Cognus but wasn’t Darth Yet. It goes under the rule of 2 and the Sith transition.

The image from 1:07 is in Madame Tussaud; I've been in that room. Its quite realistic and there are no barriers so you can sort of hold Vader's lightsaber whilst he is duelling Luke.

Concerning the last one: since in the EU, Darth Plagueis and Sidious knew about a child born from the Force and after Palpatine killed his Master, he might have gone to search for Anakin to look for a Sith Apprentice. He'd get trained the same way Darth Maul was... The story would follow the same way after that, I think.. A similar scenario (but way more interesting) could be: what if the Emperor found out about Leia when she was a child?

I think he never revealed himself until the Emperor and Vader were killed since he know they were both more powerful than him. In this story Vader and Palpatine survived.

I literally grew up, since I was born in 1972 and, if I'm mistaken, Star Wars was first played (even prior to VCRs :)) in 1977. (?) My Dad and I thoroughly enjoyed it and it became a tradition to go see them at the theater from The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi and then w/the prequals, unfortunately very unexpectedly passing away prior to Revenge of the Sith (III) and (VII). Still, seeing a new Star Wars episode brings back great memories and I have to add that YOUR particular "what ifs" make the wait between episodes as well as the thoughts of, "hmmmm, that would be cool...." are a whole lot of fun. I say YOUR above in caps because, unlike some of the others on here, you really think through everything in the alternates that you come up with they're simply more believable. I think it would play out differently at the cave if Kylo did turn to the light Leah would be the one cut down. See although Leah might thave been strong in the force Vader had the superior Speed,Mobility,Strength,ect. Vader would most likely survive the cave,if Kylo stayed Darth Vader would have also survived as Kylo didn't attack. That's just how I thought it would go down in the cave.

I think Luke would have gone to the where the Rebels were regrouping. Vader would taken Han, Leia, Chewie and told the Rebels to surrender Luke or they will die. The Rebels wouldn't want to give up Luke, but he would surrender himself anyway. With no formal training Vader would have easily turned Luke and taken him on as his apprentice. Together they would have killed Palpatine, Vader becomes Emperor, until Luke betrays him as is the way of the Sith. Then Luke marries Mara Jade, has his own son and the cycle would continue.

Alex Avasiloaei Dude... Luke is more important.. You'll understand in future parts of Star Wars.. I guess that Luke would finish Rey's Jedi Knight training.. Then Rey's children would finish their trainings and the number of Jedi would slowly rise.. When the numbers are big they would start to battle Sith Lords and their apprentices... And the next Jedi generations would continue to battle against the Dark Side.. Alive Luke and the already existing storyline in the film will bring us more action in the future of this film.. Two things ... I don't think Kylo would have been named Kylo in this scenario. His name comes from the Knights of Ren, which is not affiliated with the Sith. He likely would have taken on a "Darth" name as did the Sith before him. Secondly, I was with you up until Kylo turns on Vader. He has demonstrated that he is more than capable of killing his parents when he killed Han, and that was with the likes of Snoke pulling him into the dark side. Imagine if Vader himself had been training Kylo all along. I like these "what if" scenarios but they only make sense if the characters are true to the performance in canon story lines.

Leia sending him away to train with Luke at age 10. Han not being around because he was a part of the new government. Same for Leia because she was crucial in the development of the new Republic. The kid just wanted someone to notice him and he's sent away. Then in a span of 9 years you get snoke who sways him to the dark side because of all his rage and anger to his shitty parents(Ben was 19 when he destroyed Lukes academy in TFA novel). Snoke gave him something that he felt he never had a father figure to guide him or inspire him to be the best he could be.

One correction: Ben Solo wouldn't become Kylo Ren in this scenario, beacouse he would be a Sith and not a Knight of Ren. Plus, Ben has no chance to turn back here. If he killed his father and (almost killed) his mother in the canon story, then he would surely maul them with Vader (his idol) standing next to him.
