Being a Spurs fan, it jumps out at me that the Spurs did not end up winning those 3 rings in 03,05, & 07. The whole Spurs dynasty of the 00s & the greatness of Tim Duncan possibly would have been voided through Dirk playing with the 76ers.

Kobe also would have had much better years to end his career, competing for championships, and being way more healthy than he was on the Lakers, so he can average more points. A healthy Kobe can average more points than an injured Kobe. A healthy Kobe who has teammates who can take the focus of the defense off of him can average more points than an injured Kobe who has no help, and as such is the only person people focus on guarding. A healthy Kobe with help on his team, and as such can average better stats, and has six or seven rings vs Jordan. God damn, that argument must be insane.

I dunno i feel like Don Nelson was way to important for Dirk Nowitzkis development as a Player, i don't think he would've worked out on any other team the way he did in Dallas. He would've probably been a solid PF in the league but i don't think he would've been the same All NBA, All Star player he became in Dallas. I feel like Larry Brown would've used Dirk much more like a typical PF at the time and would not let him shoot threes and stuff like Nelson did in Dallas!

I don't know if this was the reason but players couldn't go from the Russian league to the NBA at the time, so when he did decide to leave he first signed for Partizan Belgrade, just so he could go to the NBA. I honestly don't think Dirk getting drafted by the Sixers & having a potential starting 5 of Chauncey Billups, AI, AK - 47, Dirk & Deke would've changed anything at all. It would've been like his tenure with the Nuggets - stacked team on paper that just can't seem to get it done. Plus I honestly can't see those 5 working cohesively together as a unit. What I feel would've changed things & what I wanted to happen back then in 2002 was for the Mavericks to trade Allen Iverson & Aaron Mckie to the Dallas Mavericks for Nick Van Exel, Michael Finley, Eduardo Najera & a 2nd round pick. Don Nelson is the ideal coach for Allen Iverson & fit for Don Nelson's system. Could you imagine a big 3 of Steve Nash, AI & Dirk? Plus you got the reining 6th man of the year Aaron Mckie, a young Raja Bell, Raef Lafrentz & Wang Zhizhi as your supporting cast. They would've easily won at least 2 championships at best if that were to happen.

Dwyane Wade wouldn't have went third overall in 2003. The Nuggets would have drafted Darko, the Raptors still take Bosh, and the C's would have taken Kaman before Wade went. It was a surprise to some that Wade went sixth overall. There was no way he was going in the top-3 that year.
