What If Doctor Eggman Was Real? 

I see things going the Lex Luthor route. He'd rise up as this heroic figure, become a world leader, and eventually show his true colors once it was too late.

Given Eggman’s superhuman IQ, I believe that he would be able to take over the world with an army of robots with no problem. In the games, he was seen with this huge fleet of flying battleships, giving him an advantage of attacking anywhere he wants to. And he’s smart enough to make sure all his plans were carried out in secret. If Dr. Eggman was real, I would just say “Screw it, I’m joining the Eggman Empire”.

The sonic movie's portrayal of Dr robotnik was probably the most realistic one.

One thing I do agree with, is that he'd be at war with the world trying to stop him, but as you said; he is a genius. Plus you forget that Eggman has the Death Egg, secret labs, ect. He has millions of locations to hide in, his machines are known to be bullet proof (most of them), this dude almost took over the world once in Sonic forces. SO if he was real, he'd probably succeed and take over the world by being one step ahead of his opponents Not only that, his security from his head quarters, yes, a master spy could sneak in (rogue the bat is an example as she works for G.U.N) and find a way to destroy his resources. Which is another thing, the world government may have resources, but Eggman does also, he builds his own resources if not, he finds a location with said resources he needs and gather it. Plus, this mad man would never let the government know where he is, he has devices that could scramble their radar, he could hide in the Death Egg (in space mind you) and hologram, or have a robot copy of him self rule as him while he controls everything from afar. Not only that, even is the civilians were to fight, we need to remember that this mad man's machine would kill them if they have to, no second thought and if anything; he can turn them into robots as well. If he was real and if there was no one smart enough or powerful enough to stop him: we're looking at a new ruler.

In one of the sonic games it's mentioned that Eggman a CEO of various dummy companies that actually sell his weapons and machines to private security firms. It's an interesting way of explaining how eggman funds his operations and how Eggman's influence can spread in unseen ways. BTW. They are used to protect military sites... From eggman. XD

He'd just use space for limitless resources then send a galactic army to take over earth.

That means hackers trying to hack into his robots but eggman may try to block hackers so maybe someone who has combat strategies and may need a deadly substance to kill eggman. But his robots may try to bring him back to life or he may become a robot instead.

Depends on which Robotnik and time of his life. Eggman(Games) want to create a robotic utopia under him, a worldwide amusement park(Colors) with limitless resources(Unleash), worldwide communication like the internet and security for the average citizen(Riders), special protection for women(manual says he's a romantic who appreciates females as people). The issue with him is that his old self would use animals as processors/energy-source for his machinery(Sonic 1-2) or straight up roboticize them(Lost World) with little regard for nonhuman life(in Sonic 3 the guy burned a whole zone), while his current self does not use animal lives and all his machinery after Heroes either use plants or chaos drives to act as processors/power them up, but is much more insane as he is willing to enslave an entire race of aliens(the wisps) and break the planet apart possibly murdering billions of people(Advance 3/Unleash) while threatning the world with world destroying lasers(Adventure 2/Battle) and trying to use eldricht abominations to achieve his goals(Dark Gaia, Solaris, Time Eater, you get the point). Now for his incarnation in Sonic SatAM, Underground, Archie Comics, Fleetway Comics... LET'S SAY IT'D BAD Guy would constantly seek to destroy nature(not just have disregard for it) with pollution while trying to make his rule eternal(either by murdering rivals, trying to become one with his technology, to become a god with the emeralds) in a aristocratic cyberpunk nightmare where a few members of the nobility would be allowed to share the fruits of his dystopia at the price of serving him and praising his ego while the remaining citizens(not just animals) would be turned into immortal-mindless android slaves working eternally in his factories for his own glory and amusement.

I think that eggman would take over the world. I mean in sonic X there is literally no weapon in the army that can defeat him and he has the power to blow up the planet as well. In sonic forces he took over but then was stopped

If Robotnik existed in real life, the government would not be able to find him, for he could just mess with all the data in the would and simply erase any footprints that he leaves behind. He is a great strategist and considering how in several medias, G.U.N can't even scratch his robots, he would be able to take over the world with no problems

We're talking about a guy to can tie planets together. Robotize a time creature. Can build machines that can harness magic itself. Remember Eggman built machines that can withstand a battle with *Super Sonic* Not only that, but he can build a machine that can split the earth apart by trapping *Super Sonic* and *rip the Chaos Emeralds out of him and use them as well as Sonic himself as a power source for the earth shattering lazer.* Don't forget the last Sonic game where Eggman actually did take over the world. Sonic Adventure 2 reveal that is a military force called G.U.N. and not even they can take on Eggman.

My favorite character in Sonic? I’m going to have to cheat a bit and say the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad (AKA Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts.) They may have been dumb-bots in AoSTH but they provided a lot of laughs. Besides, there’s nothing saying they can’t become smarter and more serious threats if they ever return.

If Eggman was real, & we had no real world Sonic we'd all be quite screwed. With his machines, & ability to keep large scale operations on the down low he'd easily be able to dodge the law while building his empire. Not to mention he would have no end to shady organizations, & countries that would be more than willing to help him. Eggman would be the biggest threat known to man. I have no doubt he'd take over, but knowing his ego he'd make mistakes that would lead to him being overthrown. Plus he would never leave things to chance, & definitely enslave us.

Eggman will more likely take over the world if there was no other Sonic character to stop him as without anyone to stop him from the Sonic universe than it wouldn’t really matter as his robotic army would probably overwhelm the world armies and if he gets his hands on something powerful like if he has the Chaos Emeralds then even if the world teams up to stop Robotink than it wouldn’t really matter as the Chaos Emeralds would be more powerful than nuclear energy so if the Emeralds are thrown in then it wouldn’t really matter or if he has his Eggfleet than it would dominate the sky and airforce and then there is the DeathEgg where he would probably have his own version of the Death Star and would probably easily take over any as he pleases and if even if he doesn’t have the DeathEgg than his most powerful robotic minions like Metal Sonic, Mecha Sonic, Silver Sonic, Mecha Knuckles and other top Badniks would turn the tables in his favor as no one else Would be able to make a robotic minon that powerful unless they get lucky and take them down but it’s super unlikely without Sonic or anyone else to stop him so in conclusion without Sonic the hedgehog or a hero of the Sonic franchise thrown in the scenario so unless the world gets lucky than Eggman stomps the world easily
