i was wondering what the raj could do the the axis since it's far and doesnt have much resources. then i remembered, it's more about depriving the allies of their largest source of manpower and land.

Seems to have been a difference maker. Especially with the allies committing in Burma and Bengal. India did have the largest volunteer army in WW2.

A more subtle idea: Dutch Raj, British East India. i.e. unify the east indies under Britain. Except maybe unite all of New Guinea as a territory of Australia?

Basically giving Germany more land and resources which adds to their population and increasing their military size. The Soviet Union fought the real life Germany with its upmost max capacity so you add anything to the axis powers grants them a definitive victory.
