TNO's divergence occurs with Stalin dying, and the failure of Bukharin's (Lenin's successor ittl) New Economic Plan to stabilize the Soviet economy. The utter failure of that plan would end up acting as a dark reflection of Roosevelt's proposed New Deal, and costing him the Democratic nomination in 1932. A much more cautious series of presidents wouldn't support Great Britain and the Soviet Union with lend lease or even political support until it was too late, just as the war in the pacific kicked off.

At least if the nationalists won the civil war Korea would have been reunited under southern rule

TNO's germany has its economy collapse, a west Russian war that causes their economy to spiral down even more, a failed coup, an over-bloated military budget, and an unproductive economy from ending the holocaust and using minorities as slaves instead, with all of it happening in the 50s. Not only that, but the german state apparatus is powerless to do anything, while also lead a leader that is too ill to form coherent sentences. Sure, they might """own""" more land (TNO's rks are de facto autonomous) and aren't taken over by the OFN because nukes, but they definitely do not turn out better in any way.

Bormann only results in the reich either collapsing or locked into the OFN in the 70/80s.

Well, I know it's a meme that I don't make part 2s, but the real reason i don't is mainly because of time. Part 1s usually introduce the country and have the most content in every mod. Later on in every playthrough, the game is mostly long drawn-out wars that take forever to record. This used to not be a problem, but now I'm so busy with school and work that I don't really have time to sit down and record videos for 3+ hours a day. Another reason that matters, but isn't as big of a deal as the first one, is late game hoi4 can feel repetitive. Like for example, I've probably WCed in EaW as a Griffonian nation around 5-6 times. I had started receiving complaints from people on discord about how it wasn't really interested to see me do more and more of the same late game stuff every series. And like I said, this reason isn't as big of a deal but it definitely impacts when I'm willing to do a WC in a series.

Actually that is based on Communist propaganda and lies against Chiang and the Nationalist. Did you know that the Nationalist already set out to write the new Constitution and ready for local county level elections before war with Japan? After the war was won against Japan, the Nationalist ratified the new Constitution in 1946 and ready for free election in the following year, but war against the Communist broke out, so the plan to become a true Constitutional Republic got delayed again. So if the Nationalist were able to win, China will be much much better and it would not be a real dictatorship. It may be like Franco's Spain for awhile but Chiang would not hold on to power indefinitely, once all the internal and external threat is gone, China would become a representative republic very soon, probably in the mid 60s to 70s.

@@gsmiro Perhaps, but the fact is if the communists are a threat big enough to delay democratic elections, then they would find every reason to keep delaying it until the Soviet Union collapses. Taiwan in out timeline only recently changed regimes so I wouldn't be surprised if it takes at least as long. However it doesnt change the fact that the Chinese leadership will consider their geopolitical situation in much the same way the CCP does, and conclude that America and its allies threatens Chinese interests.

The CPC and Chinese Democratic League were all invited to participate. However, the CPC and its ally CDL used many excuses to delay and eventually boycut the Constitutional Convention. This showed clearly that the CPC already had decided to take power through armed rebellion. They never had the intention to participate in a representative republican form of government. The KMT, for all its faults, had the ideal of establishing a Constitutional republic, and they started as early as 1930s. If the KMT won the civil war, there's no reason for the Nationalist government to delay local election and national election. When the Nationalist fled to Taiwan, they banned the CPC and any left leaning parties that were allies of the CPC. However, in 1950, they still hold the first prefecture level (county) election first time in all Chinese history! And the first elected mayor of Taipei was not a Nationalist party member. Prior to the War with Japan, the Nationalist Party only banned the CPC. All other parties were allowed to operate, but the Constitutional was not finalized yet, so once that is done, everything would be run according to the Constitution. So let's suppose the CPC and the CDL joined the newly formed Constitutional government and participated in free and fair election, then there's no reason to expect the KMT to return to authoritarian rules. Yes, I understand that China would not suddenly became a Constitutional republic like the US in one day, but it was well on the right path under the Nationalist. Yes, Taiwan only "democratized" in the 1988, but that was due to the constant pressure from the Communist. It would be foolish to open up the political sphere during war of survival against the hated Communists. Also, don't forget President Chiang and Madam Chiang they were very friendly to the US. Madam Chiang grew up and was educated in the US. The US forged a very strong relationship with China during the 2nd World War. If not for the US selling out and betraying the Nationalist, there would have been no reason for enmities between the two nations. Yes, Chiang supported India's independence movement, but that is against the old colonial power like Britain and France, that's not against the US. The Chinese government and people up to that point had always had a better view of the US than UK and France. With Japan out of the way, US would naturally dominate the Pacific Ocean. China was never a sea going nation, so for China and US to go against each other, it would be a long time down the road. With the Soviet Union as a threat, US and Nationalist China would enjoy a long time of friendship and alliance. Things probably would change after that generation of Chinese passed away and after Soviet Union collapsed.
