I think the main catalyst for Gohan's willing for training would be that he and his dad are too similar and Goku's willingness to train and get stronger just rubbed off on Gohan's mentality, even if it wouldn't be to the same degree.

My single biggest complaint with all of Dragonball Super is: why did future Trunks leave to another new timeline. If he couldn't stay in his own anyway then why wouldn't he stay in the main timeline where he has friends and his mother and father are alive? They could have added a prefix or suffix onto his name to differentiate him from his younger self who would then effectively be more of a younger brother.

This could have happened if only Gohan played catch with his Dad.

I always thought of Ultimate as the potential of every form the user has multiplied together, and the form can also get stronger as the user trains more with it.

My one issue I see here is ‘ultimate blue’. Since SSG is basically just a saiyan with god ki, I can see that mixing with ultimate. However, it’s stated that mixing ultimate and SS wouldn’t do anything since ultimate already pulls out all the power he’d have with SS and using both would just cause the stamina drain he’d have from SS. I could very well see him achieve SSB, but after doing that and perfecting it, ultimate would just do the same thing with less stamina drain, since blue is just SS + SSG. I am very skeptical that blue + ultimate would do anything at all.

This was awesome. The fact that not only is gohan growing increasingly strong but also including different scenarios like adding future trunks into the ToP, videl training and becoming much stronger, and a bit of a change to the Zamasu arc. This deserves a like in my book.

Gohan stacking Ultimate form with any other form means using that form's power in Base Form, without strain or stamina loss. It's so broken, that if Gohan wasn't nerfed, he'd wreck the whole franchise!

i do like you least made videl stronger, i do think she has potential. I mean she learn to harness ki and fly withing few weeks maybe a month. Thats still rather quick as took z fighters few months to a decade to do such things depending on person. You imagine if krillin, tien, or piccolo got to videl before gohan sensing her potential.

Okay okay, let’s just end this argument once and for all going over everything about the video for Videl. She started training with Gohan after the Buu saga, so she’s trained for around 5 years. Maybe 6 years if she ever used the hyperbolic time chamber. Within a year Gohan learned Super Saiyan and mastered it, but since Videl has less potential cut her potential in half, give or take she gets to barely below super saiyan level strength. Although, she has Gohan teaching her, who is a lot stronger than the others who taught him so maybe super saiyan level (non-mastered) After training with a very powerful Gohan for another 4 years who also kept getting stronger during those years, is it really hard to believe she reached Cell level power? There’s all these arguments that Krillin is so strong because he learned under different teachers and such, but Gohan is sooooo much stronger that Krillin’s previous teachers, so that shouldn’t matter. By the tournament of power arc since Goku isn’t actually trying in Super Saiyan Blue, let’s say Krillin’s at about Super Saiyan God or Super Saiyan 3 level... That’s still way stronger then cell. So if anything, there could’ve been a chance that Videl could be even stronger.

I feel the need to point out one important thing about the Gokhan fusion. The "Rival Boost" referred to in the main story isn't a numerical stat to be raised and lowered. What the kais were referring to was the sheer willpower in each of these two to be better than the other. A burning drive that would translate into an incredible willpower in the final form. Since Ki is a derivative aspect of the mind and body and being in your true self, a strong will and a strong body from the fusion makes for incredibly potent ki. There is no "Family boost" to offset the "Rival Boost", though I do believe that they'd be stronger simply because they know and trust each other more. They're comfortable in their own skin around each other and hold nothing back, much like Vegeta and Goku do, though without the animosity of the latter. Gokhan would be a much more stable fusion in terms of ki potential and physical hardiness because both Goku and Gohan are physically very strong, and they know and trust each other, and they LIKE each other.

I always thought Gohan Black would have been a much more thematically appropiate choice even in the canon timeline, because of how he ties in with Trunks as a twisted version of his mentor and to show how strong Gohan could be if he wasn't slacking off.

Never actually saw any of the parts of this, and watched this in my free time and really enjoyed it, one of my favorite what if scenarios on this channel.

I do think this what if makes more sense canonically, due to gohan having more of a catalyst to train AFTER his fight with buu then after cell because gohan realized that he is earths protecter since dad is gone and he can’t afford to blow off his responsibility again after what happened in the world tournament arc that led to fat buu’s hatching in the first place.
