I think Hinata being there to help seal Kaguya is more fitting. Naruto is an Uzumaki, who come from the Senju, Sasuke is an Uchiha, and Hinata is a Hyuga. All those clans are the closest relatives to the Otsusuki

I literally just thought of this story today! Considering how Teams are decided, this is about the only change I could see happening without having a much larger rewrite

I really like this what-if scenario. It just seems to fit so much better because it gives Team 7 a lot more of a balance where everyone plays off each other, and it gives Hinata a lot more relevance and active character development, especially with the Kakashi scenario putting her as leader to bring her out of her shell knowing Sasuke and Naruto would be a test for her due to their opposite, impulsive personalities. I also like how it makes Kakashi seem like a better teacher for picking up on how to manage their team due to this and her weakness. It would also connect with her father saying she was oo gentle and docile to lead their claim, so if she had to lead team 7, it would It gradually make more sense for why she would admire Naruto because she would actually see his willpower and see him all his fights and she would be in all of them to grow herself behind him. Her Byakugan would also be a lot more useful for the characters like in the Mist fight and Forrest of death. I just like Hinata being the smartest in the group because of her clan training. Then Sasuke going off on his own, and Naruto marrying Hinata would have had its build up. Then she would become where she was in the Pain arc, protecting Naruto herself, it would have definitely made her so much of a better female protagonist if she was leading Team 7. I'm taken back by how much of this just works.. *better* for her the story, her character, Naruto and her relationship with Naruto.

I feel like the chunin exam matchups should stay the same because those fights were mainly about each fighters individual stories than the big story. Having Sakura and ino fight and Neji and Hinata fight lets us learn about their background

I like a lot of the changes you made. It really feels like Hinata would have been a better choice than Sakura. There were a couple things though that I didn’t think fit well in this rewrite. Like I’m not sure Rock Lee would have come to Hinata’s rescue because he didn’t like her the way he liked Sakura. The whole situation had less meaning in this rewrite too, as Rock Lee had went all out trying to protect Sakura, Sakura had cut her hair to symbolize becoming more serious, and Sasuke woke up in his demonic state… all that was gone. Something else meaningful should have happened. Like Hinata declaring she wants to change in a similar way that Sakura did. Which would fit well in the following matches where she fights Neji and he tells her she can’t change. Speaking of which, the other main thing that didn’t fit as well to me was Hinata’s match with Ino. We could have just kept it Hinata vs Neji. Changing it, we lose those big character development moments of her and Neji. Her revealing that never giving up is her ninja way, and Neji first showing his resentment in being stifled, which leads into his character development during his and Naruto’s match in the later competition.

can we appreciate the fact that the amagi can come up with so many names for the bridge like "the white eyed princess bridge"

I hardly doubt the chunin exam administrators would have left Hinata seated next to Naruto, it would be better if Hinata and Sasuke tried to give Naruto the answers, but he's too stupid to understand, and it's still the same result. but his team will at least try to cooperate.

Saw someone bring up a good point on a different post that She may not have gotten the help and support from Naruto/Sasuke like she got Kiba and Shino

My childhood was centered around Naruto. I bought the hard copies when they released in America until I had the entire collection. I was allowed to go and get the next book when I got good grades on a test or report card. I took a break from anime/manga for a few years and ended up coming back out of interest in titles like demon slayer & Jujutsu Kaisen and stayed for chainsaw man & hell’s paradise. As an adult I’ve always said that the squad dynamics would’ve been so much more fascinating if there were 4 genin per jonin, and possibly even an “assistant” captain Chunin or young jonin. Lee or Hinata or an entirely new character being apart of squad 7 would’ve been really cool to see.

I always thought it would have made a better dynamic to have Hinata on team 7 instead of Sakura. Naruto never knew what it was like to have a loving family, Sasuke did but lost them at an early age, and Hinata still had her family but they showed no love or respect to her. All of them have trauma related to family just in different ways. So I feel that the found family trope would have worked out nicely in this scenario.

Honestly, they should've either started from either the Chunin Exam due to the Hyuga drama nand the blood vow he picked with Neji, or after the fight with Pain... when she confessed and all but literally died for him. Honestly there was just so much natural chemistry and ship tease with Hinata in those few instances than Sakura had through the entire series. Even Kishimoto understood he fucked there.

Sakura and Ino would've had a more decent rivalry towards Sasuke with neither of them being on a team with him. There's also a chance Sasuke Would have married either one of them. I honestly don't think Sakura Would want Sasuke back as badly After him leaving the village. And the reason why she wanted him so badly back in the original timeline was because she was on a team with him thus she's grown more attached to him. Funny thing is common during that time I forgot how Ino felt About Sasuke leaving the village At that time

You mentioned Shino in the sasuke retrieval but forgot to throw him in a fight, I think maybe he’d help kiba, and hinata can help Neji for some development in their bond

I think Sasuke would consider staying in the village cause I could see a scenario where Hinata tries to convince him to stay by comparing her life to his,how neji was in the darkness just like him,and the fact that they were both considered inferior to a member in their family by their own father

The only real change I would make is during the tenchi bridge mission, where, instead of hugging him she tries to gentle fist to subdue Naruto only to knock out him and kurama, leaving the fox scared of her.

The fact that he said a glare caused Sasuke to be paralyzed in fear and hinata peeing herself was just so funny to!🤣

I like how the three out of four clans of the Otsutsuki are on one team. Just a Senju and that will complete the collection.

Only a few problems here. They would not put the only 2 visual jutsu users on the same team. Hinata did not have use of the 8 trigrams or the rotation technics until after the Saske left. Even with Kakashi accelerating her growth you would have her using it during the bridge arc.

I feel like during tje forest of death you missed a her getting flustered moment. Also I still would have kept the Kyubi Chakra awakening during the bridge. Oh and Hinata should still fight Neji just to establish him and Naruto as rivals still.

It would’ve made the team better honestly. It would allow for more character development and relevance on Hinata. And the relationship between Naruto and Hinata could improve drastically.

absolutely love the video, it really is well explained how hinata would fit inn with team 7. i do however have a question, since it's hinata on the team kankuro will die as you said. however the door that led them to sasori and deidara it was a huge seal which requierd four people (or so was used in the manga and anime) there it was relied on sakuras immense strength to knock the "door" down, how exactly does it open? does hinata help with the seal and naruto or kakashi open the door? either makes a bit more sense then hinata to me ^^

My only doubt in this what if: could hinata keep healing obito long enough to allow Sasuke to return to the right dimension. I doubt she could do so, leaving Sasuke stranded in the Kaguya fight

I'm kinda cheesed that you took out Naruto using Kurama's chakra for the first time. But this makes sense as 8 Trigrams Rotation is an absolute defense move but you could've atleast kept that moment in. Plus Hinata could see Naruto go into Kyubi influence state.

I don’t think Hinata and Naruto is as “out of the blue” as people think. The issue isn’t that naruto didn’t love hinata , naruto kinda learned love on his own so he never learned to differentiate the different kinds of love. You see how he treats her vs all the people who flock to him.

I kind of like this because I like how Kakashi is really kind to Hinata and bringing her confidence I love that type of Sensei😊

Also, Sakura has done a lot of progress throughout the anime compared to other kunoichis. She was able to defeat Sasori, heal alot if ninjas in the war, saved Narutos life, managed to save Sasuke from another dimension helping Obito by giving him her chakra, the 100heal jutsu, the summoning of Lady Katsuyi (sorry if the names misspelled) and more i cannot remember now. But most of all, ready to kill Sasuke - the love of her life - for the sake of all, even if she couldnt in the end. Her pure love for Sasuke was from the very begging till the end.

My idea was more to swap them but keep Sakura as a main character I feel it would've been difficult but possible have Sakuras crush for sasuke keep them in contact and while that she trains under kurenai this keeps Kiba and Shino 2 characters who disappear after a while in check and a great way to improve the 4 forgotten characters, have Hinata gain more skill as time goes by and have sakura become a great genjutsu user have moments like in the forest when naruto, hinata and sasuke are in trouble Sakura jumps down and uses genjutsu to wear the sound Ninja off giving Kiba and shino the chance to over power them have her use her intelligence against shino put her under a genjutsu just before ino takes control of her mind, leaving Sakura the winner and then have her train with Tsunade and Kurenai. That's just how it improves sakura having Hinata there would give her more personality and a bigger underdog story than anyone. Go from almost dying to Neji to being able to do techniques only main branch members can do that not even Neji can figure out, have her become a prominent political figures and show the more intense side of things from that point of view I'm not looking for her to be stronger thank Naruto, Sasuke or even Sakura for rhat matter I more want her to be more interesting because I don't think battle is for her and I wouldn't write her as such I would write her in more of a political aspect, have her almost retire from work as a Ninja (not stop training, but become more of a one on one fighter still giving her moments in the pain/ war arc and keeping some political moments for the Kage summit arc and maybe another arc that show deserved before fucking boruto. I wouldve ended the show with Naruto-his fancy stuff Sasuke-his fancy stuff Sakura-Byakuya seal, Genjutsu power up (not sure what it would be maybe a staff or a literal third eye but there's enough eye imagery in the show so I'm trying to be more imaginative) and maybe slug sage, or something else Hinata-New crazy tenketsu form maybe something that allows her to push her tenketsu points enough to create a shield around her body that she doesn't need to rotate to get the true use out of it, and also head of the Hyuga clan Shino-Anbu training (they literally almost set this up but didn't they instead wrote a completely new character for it when it couldve easily been him) Kiba- show cool dog forms have him have a wolf contract being able to use insane agility and use the senses like crazy have him be different

What if Naruto trained harder in the training trip, I mean the only thing he have done is learning how to better use his Rasengan, let him learn more things like learning the secret of shadow closet earlier, sage mode, wind style ninjutsu, sealing like the flying thunder god, and more, with shadow clones he can learn all of these things and more. Who else felt that Naruto’s training trip was a waste of time.
