I love Alvarez, but honestly speaking City are ruining his career. He lacks confidence on the pitch, the players rarely play to him and he has to stay in Haaland's shadow despite being the better player. I understand why he wants to leave
@As-iy2ki
@As-iy2ki 2 месяца назад
Non-sense! City are NOT ruining his career. Look at how far Alvarez has come compared to when he was at River Plate. He scores when he comes on and is able to score against big teams like Real Madrid in the UCL in such little time. This guy is Sergio Aguero regen and the fact that we might lose him is very dreadful. Better to lose Haaland than Alvarez. He suits City better. Alvarez is basically Aguero and we never thought of losing Aguero to a rival before and think we will be good afterwards. What if Haaland decides to leave for Real Madrid etc next season when his buy out clause is active???? We should keep Alvarez and prepare for Haaland's departure when his buyout clause is active.

Alvarez can be replaced internally, no need to rush out and buy someone else. The idea of replacing is old fashioned. When City bought Alvarez, he was not replacing another player.

Guys it's a myth that Alverez wants to leave for more games as he was the 3rd highest played player at city last season. Only rodri and foden played more games, he played 31 games in league so it isn't like many more games. The information I was given is city wouldn't sell him for less than 90m minimum or 75m plus j Felix. Regarding who they would target i have been informed city have gathered information on Ivan Toney who could play with haaland, and in place of him, and as he is in last year of contract he would likely get sold towards end of window for approx 30m plus add ons, one to keep eye on, he is prem proven and homegrown so easy deal to complete. Nothing concrete yet just assessing him as possibility in market as decent investment.

@craigpartytime298 if Toney comes to this club then my dream of Toney and Haaland starting together would be awesome but that's only if Alvarez goes. Is there an update on Dani Olmo, as you told me City would be talking with Leizpig potentially after his Release clause ended
@craigpartytime-mcfc
@craigpartytime-mcfc 3 месяца назад
@Scottymol and did I tell you that info. I said ederson hasn't indicated to city thst he wants to leave as of yet. Kdb isn't off to saudi he will stay at city and extend by a year or leave free next summer. City main target is bruno g and has been all summer, they will see if Newcastle have to sell toward the end if window. I always maintained kimmich would see out contract to go next year as free agent. I also gave you guys the info on both nunes and savio at least 2 weeks prior to it being public knowledge, and that rico had signed new deal last December before it was announced in Feb, I also confirmed yan couto had extended by a year and that Taylor harwood bellis had extended deal by a year before his saints loan and none those stories made media. So if you wanna give me shit pal at least tell me what I got wrong or what I made up. U don't like it don't comment idiot

@darshmehta1952 hiya daresh pretty much the same on dani olmo negotiations and offers from different clubs as his club will accept around 60m euros n if isn't rc uts payable over 5 yrs instead so instead 60m now 12m per year instead. Personal terms was agreed 7 weeks ago. Likely that deal was lined up in anticipation of bernardo Silva leaving which is looking less unlikely. Yes the Toney thing would be something towards end window if alverez leaves which in told is 99% unlikely to happen unless crazy offer arrived for him. Plus toneys price will fall end window. Priority between now and mid August is getting rodri back up and cancelo phillips off books.

@@craigpartytime-mcfc I've been thinking that Olmo could happen if Kova, Nunes, Bobb (on loan or permanently) or Silva leaves(unlikely), as I've always had the feeling that someone out of those 4 will leave as game time will be limited, thus allowing Olmo to come in as the alternative. In my opinion, except for Ederson, someone in the first team will leave. Anything on KDB or is it all fake about him agreeing personal terms with Saudi clubs

@@daboydudus3912 that is true but also feel like we’ve shown we’re no longer one dimensional in that regard. Like could we get another big similar to how haaland is as a back up for if he’s out at all and then we still have options in Kev, foden etc for a false 9 ?
@As-iy2ki
@As-iy2ki 2 месяца назад
@@JakeSteffan Maybe we can look at it like this in the event we lose Alvarez (I hope not and wish he is first choice striker instead of Haaland): Remember Haaland has a buy out clause which will be active soon and Alvarez is basically regen Sergio Aguero. If Alvarez goes (I hope not) what will City do if Haaland decides to leave next? This is short term thinking and will leave us in a dangerous position like United after SAF left. We also don't know if Pep will stay longer. Keeping Alvarez and making him the first choice striker and preparing for Haaland and his buy out clause (everyone will be wanting Haaland especially when a bargain of a buy out clause) is crucial. Else we will end up in the same situation with either Pep being forced to play false 9 and we have no aerial threat in the box like in 20/21 season OR the time when we were like PSG and needed a proper manager like Pep in 15/16 season should we lose Pep and this time after losing Alvarez and perhaps Haaland, have no striker. Don't forget the doubts about KDB's future. That is why losing Alvarez is a bad idea because we have no guarantee Haaland will be staying for much longer. Alvarez is that player who is world class and is loyal just like how Aguero was as long as we give him the game time and important matches. Haaland, I am not so sure. He said he wanted to play in different leagues like La Liga before joining Man City.

I rather keep Alvarez making him first choice and prepare in the event someone chooses to go for Haaland's buy out clause.
@wengelder9256

@@As-iy2ki I am not sure there is still a buy out clause . The first buy out clause was changed . The amount is unclear and varies , depending on the source , between 100 and 200 million , possibly descending as the new contract progresses. Then it was reported that city wanted to remove the buy out clause all together in the negotiations, in lieu for a salary increase . Nobody knows . These are private contracts . In reality not many clubs can afford it anyway . I am all ok for Alvarez to stay , but if he wants to leave and city gets a good offer ( and they have set the bar high ) it will become a commercial issue , not a sports issue . City played a season without deep striker and still win , because they changed tactics . Guardiola is a pupil of Cruyff . Cruyff once said “ it makes no sense to play with a deep striker unless he is world class . If you don’t have a world class player , you play without “ ( the video is in Dutch so I think no use to send it ) . Ultimately I think Alvarez and KDB and Silva and maybe even Ederson will simply stay. Very often players make comments meant for the club hierarchy to notice . He is on a relatively low salary compared to others and is 25. Maybe he wants a contract review and salary increase . Even KDB never had a real offer , nor did City , from Saudi . And still hasn’t . It is often just a tease .
@As-iy2ki
@As-iy2ki 2 месяца назад
@@wengelder9256 The problem with the false 9 tho is that we have no aerial threat in the box and we suffered so much because of that in the past. Also, it becomes predictable once we play it too often. Alvarez is only saying he wants to leave because he wants more gametime. He has nothing against City he just needs more gametime. As for Haaland's release clause, it activated in 2024 and started at €200 million which decreases every year. For Haaland any club would pay that amount or wait for it the be lowered. That is why I think giving Alvarez the gametime he wants at City and eventually make him the number 1 choice (because he is basically regen sergio aguero and to lose Aguero's heir is like losing Aguero which doesnt feel right) will be a good move. There is no GUARANTEE that Haaland will stay at City for a long time. He is one of football's biggest names. Alvarez seems to be the safest bet. Even if it is a tease, that still will draw clubs to make offers and there is a risk of losing these players. We don't even know who we can replace them with. It is not like we are replacing Otamendi (no disrespect to him). This is Alvarez we are talking about as well as KDB, Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker and Ederson. These are the key players which make CIty's backbone and will require a LOT of time scouting other players to replace them with. I mean name 1 player who can replace Alvarez and is of his caliber (good enough to challenge and replace Haaland).

@@As-iy2ki check the numbers . the season without Haaland or Aguero ( without deep striker ) , city scored the most goals in the last ten years, except one season . What do you mean «strikers like Haaland will come and go»? Firstly, strikers like Haaland is very rare. His stats shows that. Last season Alvarez played more in the league than Haaland did, still his stats cant even compare to Haaland. Alvarez is overhyped by some of the fans. Secondly, why do certain people keep assuming Haaland wont stay at City for many years? Has he said he wants to leave? Very ironic since its actually Alvarez who is rumoured to leave, not Haaland. Just because his dad said jokingly in a clip that Erling would probably like play in every top league to challenge himself., doesnt mean he will do that. He also said that he could be playing in City the rest of his career. No one knows what will happen in the future so these assumptions are risicilous.

He is way too good to sit on the bench. He is 21 not 17/18. other top clubs use their much younger players even regurarly. @@alejandroRC2 When Haaland hasnt played, Alvarez played striker. When Bobb has played, he has been played out of position all the time and everywhere, left, right, midfield, behind striker…so its not like you can expect a certain position every match if you play for City. And Haaland is better than Alvarez in the striker position when it comes to goals, (all his records and stats even before he came to City shows that)…and thats the most important job as a striker, score goals. Alvarez has played more than most City players this season, and he has no reason to be upset. He also knew Haaland was going to City at the same time, so maybe he should have chosen another club from the start if he wants to play every match as a striker. He was bought as a back-up for Haaland. Alvarez has actually been lucky to have played as much as he has (only 2 City-players have played more than him all season), cause in other positions he hasnt played that well.
