I personally couldn’t help but imagine chapter 5 going something like this: First off, this scenario is assuming Makoto is still the Ultimate Hope and somehow forgot his memories of the first killing game. Nagito still finds out the truth about the traitor and finds out that Makoto is not just the Ultimate Lucky Student but is also the Ultimate Hope, so when Nagito makes his plan to have the traitor kill him and escape, he actually plans for two people to kill him at the same time, those being Chiaki and Makoto, and has two poison gas grenades mixed in with the rest of the fire grenades. Having both throw the grenades at the same time would make determining one killer impossible, so both would be considered the blackened. But Makoto’s luck has him tripping and falling before he can throw the grenade alongside Chiaki, which would’ve made them both the blackened since Nagito’s luck had them both being the ones to grab the poison grenades. Makoto’s supposed bad luck of tripping delays him and saves him from becoming the blackened, and only Chiaki ends up the blackened. The fact that Nagito targeted two people and who those people are is discovered during the trial, and that’s when Makoto realizes he’s the second person Nagito was targeting (though he doesn’t yet know why) and further that he isn’t a blackened because he tripped. The Chiaki reveal is still devastating to everyone, of course.

I think the plot would be that Makoto remembers almost everything and now needs to find out why he himself got into the neo world program, eventhough he had set it up for the remnants of despair. He then got serious when he saw Chiaki, because she also knows about the program, too.

Since why would makoto the one who put them there, the one chiaki knows why neo program itself exist is with them, and both of them probably kept it a secret that they know each other

@@LorielSaysHi remember? Chiaki is an alter ego made by Chihiro’s alter ego. Chihiro’s alter ego made Makoto’s alter ego as seen from investigating for the final trial! So they have a connection and both know each other.

yep ,he was but he only was in the chapter 6 to help the 77'th class get out of this simulation but he never was in the beggining of the danganronpa 2 if you get what I mean xd
