If I was suggesting somthing to some mappers, I would suggest rivers and mountain ranges though. Not sure if it's not good for the alternate future ones, but the alternate history ones could have that feature in because its war technology back then didn't have that much powerful war planes.

Sullykid04 yes they might chagne but it will still have a similar way, the x river has changed a lot making a border dispute between serbia and croatia but if we draw a line the route is still similar

And about mountains, yes they can shrink or grow, but they wont move on their own, tectonics have a game in that, and if they move a mountain they can and will mske earthquakes also ehich is hard to depict, like of i depict one in italy i would need to depict others in other countries

Yes, aliens can be possible. And yes, it is possible to make an effective mapping series with Sci-Fi like aliens, but... I to this day have never seen aliens used effectively in any mapping series. Mapping is about politics, culture, and human struggles; however, aliens in mapping tend to undermine these ideas. I am seeing too much of: * Two teams: Aliens vs. Humans. * Aliens colonizing the world with no apparent purpose. * Technological developments leading the war. Example: Humans are losing the war, then suddenly they discover laser guns and turn the tide of the war. These plot twists don't seem very well set up. * Humans seeing aliens as their immediate enemies, and vice versa. * Humans suddenly working together despite all of their rivalries. * Sudden plot twists that come out of nowhere. I am not seeing enough of: * Pro-Alien movements among the people. * People trying to make diplomacy with the aliens, and vice versa. * Countries taking advantage of the alien invasions to attack their rivals. * Certain countries teaming up with the aliens. * Problems unrelated to the aliens (global warming, natural disasters, separatists, border conflicts, imperialism, and regular ol' wars). * Rivals reluctantly working together to save humanity. PS: It's not that I don't like aliens. I just don't like them in mapping. These AFOW series seem to be "FIGHT TO THE DEATH" instead of "let's try to cooperate with other countries and/or the aliens themselves."
