Authors like making him dumber than he actually is, it’s severely overdone even though Naruto is actually pretty smart. He’s just not knowledgeable on things he doesn’t know because he doesn’t care about it or was too focused on gaining attention rather than focusing on something he considered boring, plus it’s not like anyone actually tried giving him the extra help he clearly needed

@@bacongrabber exactly, it’s even been stated that Naruto’s battle iq is amazing. The fact that he got advice and still ignored it is totally against his character. It’s one of my pet peeves about the canon as well.. you’re telling me no one ever said to Naruto, “hey I know you might not like studying but if you wanna be Hokage you need to be smart as well, not only strong” Let’s not even get started on how weak he was after the time skip, ya telling me Jiraiya couldn’t have used the shadow clone method? Also, how could Naruto not notice it? Maybe Kishimoto didn’t think of it until after… who knows but man. Wasted potential.. I wanna read a fanfic that’s mostly “canon” but actually have Naruto being taught properly. Addressing his issues with control due to an abundance of chakra, have him motivated to read etc. I genuinely believe he’d be the rookie of the year.

In reality? Because Goku is that stupid. Shonin Jump felt he should be more like Goku so he was made dumb and Sasuke was created to be like Vageta.

I got strikes due to that story so sorry i cant continue that one but I will find a better story
