@@Gamfluent I’d imagine smart Okuyasu would still side with Rohan/Josuke, I doubt being smarter would turn him into a villain since he would probably already be going in with his moral, emotional, and ethical convictions. They’re his friends, so the only situation I’d see him turning on them would be one where their sacrifice is somehow necessary to beat their opponent.
Rohan: There's no other option. I see no other way. We might unleash something worse by doing this but; Okuyasu; look! Okuyasu: Huh? *looks at manuscript* Rohan: *Writes Okuyasu is as smart as I am* [Because Rohan is kinda self-hyping he'd probobly use himself as the smartest thing here; also this would probobly give Okuyasu the imagination of Rohan as well as a mangaka...] Okuyasu proceeds to dominate the entire Jojoverse.
Kira with the hand, has the perfect way to dispose of the bodies, has an ironic name, has the intelligence to use it well, and allows him to not be hit by his own attacks like he was worried of with killer queen's explosions
Smart okyasu wouldn't use his ability immediately. Imagine the enemy thinks he's just a rush stand like star or diamond and while fighting up close, he just erases their stand's head without warning.
It's a commonly repeated joke - at least in circles I'm a part of - that, since time and space are inherently linked as a result of time being the fourth dimension, Okuyasu should in theory be able to erase time as well by extension of his ability erasing space.
not necessarily, if we give okuyasu decent intelligence, he would have not been subservient to his brother upon realizing that he is the more capable of the two. this would leave okuyasu to make his own decisions and since he is not actually a bad person, he might not even be willing to fight josuke in the first place.
I guess Okuyasu can erase only what he understands. Even if you may think "If that is how does he know how to erase space ?" it's because it is as complicated as it is simple. He simply erases "everything" that is in front of him. He doesn't erases more complicated concepts such as time or fate because it's simply is not "real enough" for him. So yes, if he was more imaginative or had a deeper understanding of the world around him he'd be one of the most terrifying stand there is.
@@fireblast133 Because that's exactly what he does. When he swings his hand he creates a void which forces what's around it to fill that space. It is basically the same ability as Cream, only without Cream's limitations.
@@MagmaMKII I do wonder, if Okuyasu managed to get smart....ould he theoretically scrape something and only erase specific things? Like if he scraped the a flower pot and only removed the pot itself, leaving the plant and soil?
the hand requiem: left hand to delete, right hand to create, and is able to delete/create entire realities and be able to ascend reality and simulation can kill Azathoth and scp 3812
Oooh that’s a nasty combo fr but what I think is glossed over especially when I’m watching the anime is how does the hand actually work can he use his fingers for micro swipes or only full hand swipes? what if he’s in timestop is it being erased or already erased cause there’s a distinct delay in the anime to display what it’s doing.
This could work as Wonder of U only works if someone is pursuing the Stand or the User, not the other way around. By bringing Tooru or Wonder of U closer to him with erasure, Okuyasu can straight up ignore it's effects
@@raikaria3090 I always imagined a joke about tooru making an online delivery... only for the delivery driver to have to deal with WoU, ending up there after 6 hours battered and bruised
@@bestdadoftheyear7181 That is literally completely false. The barrage attack he did on Superfly clearly shows only his right had erases. Anytime you think he's erasing with both hands is when he's actually only using his right hand.
@@paranoidpanzerpenguin5262 Maybe. It's never been confirmed how long he can keep the erasure going. There's probably a limit or Okuyasu doesn't know he can do that. His left hand cannot erase things and is just a normal Stand hand
I personally like to imagine that Okuyasu would simply pull out "ZA HANDO ZA FINGA", which would erase smaller amounts of space. It'd make next to no sense given his actual abilities, but it'd be funny. (And versatile!)
GER depending on if Gierno could😮 survive long enough vs za hando and getting the Arrow away from a guy who can manipulate space is impossible so no GER
Considering the erased space pulls and teleports, he could make some crazy deadly projectiles by, let's say, erasing the space between a car and his enemy.
Another "What If this character was" scenario you could do is "What if Kira was a fighter" or "What if Kira enjoyed the art of battle". I bring this up because in part 4, Kira is shown that he doesn't like fighting and doesn't really know how too. And when he does fight, he takes the cheap and easy way out, and also doesn't use his stand to it's full potential. So if Kira knew how to fight, he'd be more dangerous and more overpowered than he already is. Realistically, all Kira has to do is touch you once and it's over.
@@zooshirashad6800 Not really, part 8 Kira is a totally different character with the same name and similar character traits as part 4 Kira. Part 8 Killer Queen may look the same as part 4 Killer Queen. But they don't function the same and can't be utilized the same way because their abilities work differently. So no, it hasn't been explored.
If Okuyasu had the will to erase something like a disease/illness and swiped you, I'm assuming you wouldn't get deleted just the part he had the will to erase? Because If that's the case then he can do medical stuff too o_0
I wonder if Okuyasu could create stuff as well by removing the lack of a thing. "Oy Josuke, I erased the lack of a sandwich in front of me and one appeared. Ain't that wacky?"
The erasure needs him to "scrape" something with the palm. He wouldn't be able to do precision things unless he got some sort of new power which allowed the palm to phase. [and even then only effect some things]
I feel like even if Okuyasu was made smarter, it would come down to how fast he actually is in performing the action of swiping. Even though he can erase “anything,” it is not explicit on what his stand must do physically to make it happen. Giorno didn’t know he was able to regrow limbs and body parts right off the bat, he had to learn how to actually do it. In Okuyasu’s case, he’d have to figure out how to erase something that isn’t in the physical plane like a concept. It’s one thing to think it, it’s another to actually execute it physically.
Late, but pretty true, in fact with further exploration could he just erase without having to swipe? Like what if the hand could just hold out it's hand and continuously erase space in front of said hand? Or you know, use more than one hand lmao. I also feel like it wouldn't be as hard as one would think, he can erase space but's he's not actually understanding the concept, he just erases everything in front of him. So could he think of time flowing and erase it? How would that even work since the hand seems to only erase with it's hands. Could he just age someone really fast by erasing their time?
Something neat I thought of for a hypothetical Za Hando Requiem is the ability to remove events from causality, thus changing the effect of what happened. For example, if he was told about what happened to his dad, he could erase the event of him receiving the flesh bud from DIO, thus returning him to normal. I'm not great with the implications of such a thing, so let's say it doesn't fuck up the timeline. It is something he wanted most, and it fits with the theme of erasing.
Not to rag on your idea because it's pretty cool but that specific event I'm pretty sure would remove his stand because be inherited it from his father I could be wrong unless you give him a possible immunity to paradoxes so he can't ever prevent his own birth
@@fungamesandstuffwhy2516 It being a problem assumes that time works in a way that would allow paradoxes, if time were say... relative then paradoxes could never happen in any meaningful way. Oh wait... time is relative, (and is also the same thing as space from a physics perspective), meaning Okuyasu can erase time and causality as he pleases with no repercussions, no limits fallacy is fun
I feel like he'd do something crazy like, literally just spinning with za hando, making a weird void vortex. Or unlocking his real proficiency: using two hands, literally doubling his power.
The sheer potential of za hando is absurd like this thing is wasted on Okiosu, I haven't seen wasted potential like this since Orochi from one piece, dude has the powers OF A HYDRA and dies 8 times , like not that Okiosu is that bad but damn he has the potential to overtake tusk act 4!
If he can erase anything, then misfortune goes with it. And again, if he can erase ANYTHING, then he can erase ANYTHING. Infinite spin? Boom Misfortune? Boom Love Train? It's something, so boom
his attacks probably are like the soft and wet go beyond attacks, if you read the explanation they give for why those can ignore calamity sounds really similar to what the hand does
@@shytsu7090 i mean what level of space manipulation does the hand has it seems to be bound to 3d as he never exactly was able to do anything to time stop or bites the dust or even be able to erase time and it seems to be it's limit since it was never applied that it had more or would come back again to show more
but it says based off of the user's will and plus what if he just removes the fabric of space, think about it if a chunk of space is removed from the world the rest of the space would register that chunk of space as 0. NOT MATTER BUT SPACE ITSELF and would just fall into itself. so if we highball him he just instawins everything cus he can remove a dimension
I highly doubt The Hand would be able to take on the "top 3", seeing as it needs to touch something or something has to be in an attack's way in order to remove it and put it elsewhere. WoU has at least a planet-wide range, and the only real thing Okuyasu would have to worry about is everything else trying to kill him as he pursues WoU. GER's RtZ only activates upon IMMINENT attacks, not after or before when it starts, although it'd be pretty funny seeing its reaction. S&W: GB vs The Hand, on the other hand, is a whole different ballgame.
I haven't yet read JoJolion yet, but: Does WoU trigger if it is forced to approach someone? If not, he could just stand there, Handing away the distance to pull WoU in. Arguably, erasing the distance isn't even "Moving" per say, it's just getting rid of what's between them.
@@calemr WoU's ability is triggered by intent, so even if you don't take an actual action against it it will still trigger if you have the intent. Josuke bypasses it by basically forcing WoU to pursue him instead of the opposite.
Smart Okuyaso would probably invent new and more powerful techniques, I like to think he would wave his hand in circles to create a constant scraping motion, basically a black hole at that point.
Smart okuyasu wouldve perminantly died because of reverse plot armor. Araki wouldve found him too strong making the plot overall boring for the reader Also KILLA QUUEEN already touched the read more button >:)
@@xxcridonxx7614goku is a genius when it comes to fighting, and the only he was ever nerfed in a fight is him letting his opponent power up, but that isn’t him being stupid, that is him wanting a good fight.
I feel like smart Okuyasu would have his "scrape the enemy" more as a finisher rather than his primary form of attack, probably relying more on either teleporting himself to the enemy or the enemy to himself and use the momentun to strike harder, also pulling the scenario towards the opponent to strike them.
Okuyasu literally brought himself back from the dead. That's where his stand sends things, the other side or the mortal veil, and it can do the reverse (maybe only while on the other side). Would be interesting to think if after he came back, and had the ability to return objects from the other side. Maybe with his left hand.
What an excellent video! I love Okuyasu, so seeing his unmet potential explored is super gratifying. I imagine Joseph would have had a ball with this Stand, had he been so blessed!
Ideas on what could happen. Okuyasu can choose what to scrape away, which means he can choose not to scrape away other stuff. He could scrape away your blood without harming anything else. He could scrape away the ground underneath to leave hidden pitfall traps. The chemical bonds holding your atoms together. What about connections to Stands? Sex Pistols is a sentient Stand, so if Okuyasu removed their connection to Mista, would they be able to just go out and do their own thing? Would removing the connection make non-sentient Stands sentient? The Hand: Requiem. Now the scrape isn't limited to just his hand, or whatever is in reach. The Hand: Go Beyond. Can erase dimensions and different levels of the multiverse. Can reverse the erasure, but only things it's already erased. Edit: Something I thought of. Would this Stand be useful in everyday life? Particularly with it's No Limits Fallacy. I would definitely want it, it would be extremely useful in my everyday. What about you?
What if Ermes makes a copy of an item with a sticker, then Okuyasu erases the original item and then you remove the sticker from copy item. Where would happen to the copy item??? I loose sleep thinking about this
It also works on himself too. i.e "I remove my need to breathe" "I remove my physical limitations in speed" "I remove my inability to see past the natural color spectrum" If you take it to a meta level, he has no limit in any regard.
I wonder what would happen if Okuyasu makes the hand scrape around him so many times rapidly and basically create something like a scrape sphere. Would something like that just sucks in the entire universe like a blackhole and deletes everything when he's finally done? Pretty insane if that's the case since he basically just deletes everything and protects himself at the same time since nothing would be able to get through the scrapes.
@@bg8561 Oh GOD I’m just now thinking about him swiping all around him with that speed 😂like imagine him saying “ZA HANDO, “BLACK VOID”” and you hear bookoo VROOOMM sound effects around him while everything comes crashing down onto him🤣🤣🤣
@@V.KaiserX no, he said that the "teleportation" ability is limitless speed, because teleporting doesn't count travel speed, it's almost instantaneous, the problem is thay Okuyasu needs to erase the space, but ZA HANDO!!!, is slower than Crazy Diamond, and this one is slower than Star Platinum, so it's very likely that ZA HANDO!!! can't reach light speed levels.
Oi Josuke, Rohan made me smarter for the sake of curiosity and I think I just erased the concept of fate itself. *Ain't that wacky?* _Meanwhile, in Florida..._ *Enrico Pucci: - DECEASED -*
This video just... isn't right. I'm a fan of this channel, but this isn't a "Creative things a smart Okuyasu could do" video, it is a "What if we make Okuyasu OP and ignore his canon feats" video which feels sort of pointless. Yes, if Jotaro didn't have a time limit to timestop, he'd be quite strong. The "No Limit" is in terms of what CAN BE ERASED, but there ARE limits. You've seen a single sentence from an interview and decided to ignore the rest of the Manga. It must be in the scrape radius, so it can't be larger than the size of the scrape. It could potentially scrape away Tusk Act 4's bullet because the *physical size of the nail* is smaller than the maximum size of what can be erased. If it's too big (Such as a 5ft wide wall) then The Hand only scrapes away and brings together PART of the wall. The whole wall isn't erased on contact. The Love train example is interesting, but ultimately it would depend on IF the barrier was a single, solid object or if it was a constant stream. If it's a constant stream then sure it can be scraped away... but the gap will be closed instantly. The thing it's scraping must be physical. Space exists. There is indeed distance between one object and another. Time however couldn't be scraped away. Time is a concept, and is affected by Gravity and stuff, but unless Okuyasu is erasing a very small object with significant gravitational pull, that's a no. speaking of, Gravity couldn't be scraped away either. You could scrape away Light, but by the time he's finished scraping it, more light would have entered the space the erased light would be in. Okuyasu can only affect that which he can TOUCH with his stand's RIGHT HAND. His teleportation wouldn't be instant. We can see this in the RHCP fight where he scrapes... and RHCP dodges out the way, which causes Okuyasu to teleport behind RCHP. This means that there is indeed time between scrapes, otherwise how did RHCP dodge? RHCP even states this directly. "But... the Hand's Swiping motion... It can't possibly match RHCP's superior speed! You're way too slow!" Further, we know that the teleportation isn't instant because he must finish the scrape, and then there's a small delay before space is warped. See, the Josuke fight where Josuke has time to duck under the plant pots. If it was instaneous, then surely the plant plots would have flown straight away? it's fast, but not instant. And finally. No. Okuyasu cannot keep up with Made In Heaven's speed. Okuyasu isn't increasing his acceleration in anyway, he's erasing space and pulling himself through the erased space, so he's still limited by his Stand's scrape time. RHCP is slower than MiH Pucci, since the characters had no real issue keeping track of RHCP with their eyes unlike Pucci. TL;DR Like the channel, not a fan of this video.
What if The Hand's left hand could always return anything that was swiped away, like quantum storage, but Okuyasu was always too dumb to think "what if I used the left hand?"
4:55 The reason why Okuyasu could attack Red Hot Chili Pepper was because he wasn't powered up. If Red Hot Chili Pepper was charged up enough fight Okuyasu, Okuyasu would probably have died.
I think GER would still be able to reset what he erases by simply not letting put his hand up? Simply reset him every time he moves his hand and boom. Someone find a problem with my theory it seems wrong but I can’t find a na argument against it.
One thing that keeps coming to mind with the "What if Okuyasu was smarter?" Question is lethality. Like yeah The Hand is INCREDIBLY deadly and there's not really a reason why he he didn't kill Kira or RHCP other then he just wasn't that bright. But like...he's a teenager, most of the fights he gets in he isn't trying to go for the kill. Yeah there's a LOT more he could do but imo the most powerful part of the hand is just erasing the opponent which...Okuyasu probably isn't trying to do. Yeah he should just teleport his foes to him/erase their had but other then beating their ass he doesn't really have a nonlethal win state. Idk maybe I'm not smart enough for The Hand either 😅
While yes, Okyasu is an idiot, I think the True underlying weakness of The Hand was the part it was written in, let me explain: Part 4 is unique among its peers for its unique "redemption" approach to dealing with its minor antagonists. This comes into immediate opposition with the entire point of The Hand, immediate ahnilation. Every protagonist stand in P4 either avoids causing egregious amounts of bodily harm to its victim or it has a way of undoing said harm, either by its own ability or the fact that Crazy Diamond is usually there to act as a safety net, allowing the Villan to be healed and then redeemed. But the Hand... the Hand just kills people, and it can't even be undone by Crazy Diamond if they manage to survive. So in order for this stand to even exist in its current capacity, and still keep the Redemption stories araki wanted to tell, The Hand HAD to be nerfed, so Araki chose to make its User a moron so he could still make use of The Hand, but provided an excuse as to why The Hand didn't just win every fight.
Now I wanna know if an intelligence increased Okuyasu and “Za Hando Za Wardo” (patent pending😂) could beat “Wonder Of U” considering that there’s no way for “Wonder Of U” to get away from them (for long at least) Edit: Could they even beat EoH DIO??? Because DIO needs all these otherwordly items & circumstances to break reality yet Za Hando…doesn’t have that limit or requirements meaning Okuyasu could just start erasing reality 😂
I think a pretty cool requiem idea for the hand is for it to erase any potential future where okuyasu is placed in a difficult situation only allowing the future in which okuyasu is fine.
@@woomyboy98 i was thinking it would be more like erasing fate, so if okuyasu is fated to be affected negatively whether it be in a fight or an accident, The hand Requiem would ensure that it will never happen to okuyasu instead, the fate will be replaced by the best possible outcome. The thing that affects okuyasu doesn't necessarily have to hurt him it could be like him losing money, having hair loss, developing a disease and ect...
Does it count as pursuing if WoU is being brought to Okuyasu? It would likely activate since he's thinking about attacking him, but does the calamity recognise the scrape teleport as him getting closer?
Space isn't really an abstract concept - it's a bit difficult to grasp fully given the way we normally interact with it, but it is something that physically exists in the universe. A better example would be the fact that Okuyasu can erase written letters, including the space that should be left in the words, causing them to contract. (That is to say, he wasn't just erasing the physical pigments used to write the characters.) If The Hand really does not have any limitations on it's ability to erase things and is even able to destroy abstract concepts, then Okuyasu should theoretically have the ability to straight up alter reality. He could erase someone's memories, identity or emotions, cause a color to stop existing (at least locally), cure his father by removing Dio's influence from his body, make someone immortal by _erasing the concept of death,_ or raise the dead by erasing the fact that they died, etc. He may even be able to restore anything he erases by erasing the past and making it so he never did it in the first place.
GER modifies your will to "zero". They only show Diavolo throwing blood at Giorno in order to be able to let the viewers SEE what GER can do, but it changes your will, which means you wouldnt even be able to start an attack towards Giorno. GER wouldnt allow Okuyasus hand to get to him
One thing I think that Araki genuinely forgot about when he made the JoJo Veller statement about smart Okuyasu having no limits to what it can scrape away (erase). Is the fact that before Okuyasu met Josuke and the others. He and his brother Keicho were creating stand users with the stand arrow in the hopes they could find someone who could kill their father to put him out of his misery. Remember that Okuyasu's dad has Dio's flesh bud in his body, when Dio died their father transformed and mutated into a creature that couldn't die no matter what the brothers threw at him. That includes Okuyasu's The Hand.
@@theendersmirk5851 "Both" of the Nijimura brothers were looking for a stand user who could kill their father. Which means they both tried ending his misery themselves before they started looking for other people who could. Okuyasu obviously doesn't want his father to suffer, so he too would have tried his "hand" at doing so.
@@ididsomeunspeakablethingsa4899 Keicho ultimately cares about the family he has left, but he's not that sympathetic. He'd rather his father be put out of his misery than save Okuyasu the trauma of watching him die. Besides, both Keicho and Okuyasu wanted their father's misery to end.
I think it wouldve been a better move to have characters point out how the hand could've helped in a battle or situation and then have okuyasu just be like "oh I didn't even think of it"
Metas I made a bites the dust ability for the hand call the hands true weight as a reference to the weight a song by the band. His new ability would change the weight of things or people by touching them and so he could make stuff fly super fast when he swipes reality away. I want to know what you think of it
An Requiem Arrow grants its user an ability they desire the most when used, and Okuyasu would probably need an other ability, but the concept is really great.
cant believe that za hando : requiem has the ability to create things anywhere his stand's right hand is! he even managed to change find into found! 0:11
The Hand Requiem Ability: Can selectively erase anything he wants in a 10 meter radius. He can erase time which will cause anyone else but him and the Hand to be frozen in time. Basically time stop. He can erase the calamity around him which can save him from being affected by calamity.
