Pokemon has historically featured the concept of evolution, but has always had the rule that a Pokemon can only evolve a maximum of two times, and have a maximum of three stages. However, what if some Pokemon received a 4th stage evolution? What would that be like? In today's video, we are going to explore just that, by giving 4th stage evolutions to a few Pokemon in particular! I hope you enjoy!

I’m afraid to trust them after Current and PayPal… I’m going to need proof of safety first. Current kept leaking both card info. I never even used that card yet and I kept getting unauthorized purchases at places I’ve never been to. *Expensive purchases too.* PayPal kept making me verify my identity at least once a week then they blocked irreversible ACH bank transfers so they basically stole my money. They also leaked the card info from cards linked to my PayPal. I need to see solid proof they’re trustworthy. No one should trust any online bank and/or online banking (non bank banking) without solid proof of trustworthiness.

I really like Maxcalibur design wise but I also am a little sad to see Baxcalibur’s goofy kaiju inspirations fade away. While yes, in a world where fourth evolutions exist you could simply not evolve Baxcalibur and boom, Godzilla reference forever, something just feels off about it. Baxcalibur’s stiff stance, simplistic grey body, and few notable details really exude old Japanese Godzilla suit energy whilst Maxcalibur is more like Tyranitar which represents the Kaiju genre as a whole but doesn’t pay homage to the actual suits them selves which has a ton of charm for me as a kid.

Mazuarill is the name I would go for, for an Azumarill Evolution! It keeps the same theme as keeping parts of the names of the past evo's. Type: Water/Fairy Ability: Rabbit Power (Double's Attack Power, and Double's chances of Secondary Effects) Stats: HP- 120. Attack- 65. Def- 90. Sp Att- 70. Sp Def- 100. Speed- 80. BST- 525.

The only thing I have to say is that Baxcalibur's name came from the mythical sword of King Arthur Excalibur. So the Evolution of Baxcalibur should have changed to a different mythical sword like Caladbolg.

I feel Baxcalibur needed to have a more slender reptilian design more like Spinosaurus, but if they wanted a more chunky dragon then they justed need to make it body proportions more chunky, the design could have been more krokodile proportions less dragonite proportions, hope you do a redesign series on this idea

my head cannon for this is that these 4th stage evos are a special kind of branch evolution called Alpha evolutions- meaning they evolve from the second form via a much more difficult training method. Training methods in their simplest form could involve a higher level to evolve the poekmon than their general evolution. Alpha evos will usually have a higher BST as well (50 points more than normal evo) and have one of new abilities called Alpha abilities based on the Pokemon's type. For example Alpha Blaze will increase fire type moves when entering battle, alongside a 35 % chance to inflict burn. (also, yes I know Alpha forms already exist, lol..I just couldn't brain names)

There are 4 stages a of Pokémon evolution: Baby, Basic, Stage 1, and Stage 2. So far, there hasn’t been a Pokémon species that has gone through all four stages. There are some interesting patterns to note about it, though. 3-stage Pokémon with the baby stage all have their final forms achieved through means other than level up. Blissey goes through friendship. Magmortar goes through trade with held item. Raichu goes through thunderstone. So on and so forth. Also, the Porygon line is, to my knowledge, the only Pokémon that uses two different items to reach its final stage. Evolution stones generally speaking mark the final stage of the line. As far as I know, we haven’t seen a Pokémon that evolves via stone with an additional stage afterwards. Of the three families present in this video, the Marill line is the closest to a possible full 4 stage evolution line, as that “Motomarill” would be at Stage 2.

I would've gone for a different approach with azumarill, since Marill was initially called pikablu, I would've then imagined a water version, more gentle design-wise of Gorochu, with the focus on the tail that could've been used as an spiked ball /mace

Deluxray is actually pretty clever for one other reason. If 'de' is a a prefix meaning 'off' (such as "to devalue), and 'lux' means 'light', you could interpret 'delux' as 'off-light', which ties back to the typing, too.

Deluxray looks incredible, both design-wise and type-wise, I really like it. The pseudo-Legendatry one looks great too, and I can go with either name. However I think you missed the mark with Mottomarill, the ears just feel really off. I think you should've make the ears pointing up just like Azumarill except both of them pointing up instead of one of them being folded, that would probably look better.

Instead of Deluxray, it could be "Tenebray." From Tenebrae meaning Darkness in Latin, and keeping "ray" for electric. It would literally mean Darkness Ray, rather than "delux" for Darkness.

You missed a pretty big design consistency with the Baxcalibur line. Each stage has a progressively higher number of claws (or feathers, I'm not really sure) on it's wrist. Maxcalibur should have had four instead of two sets of three per arm.

you forgot to mention that marill was called Pikablu in gen 1. making Marill connected to Pikachu also, since you gave Clefable an evolve form cause Clefairy's connected to Pikachu, you might as well give an evolved form for Wigglytuff since Jigglypuff is Clefairy's counterpart. maybe give Wigglytuff's evolve form be a reference to Kirby.

This is the first time I hear about Frigibax line having an axe theme, I think the "ax" part of the name is more so referencing "Backs" but in a way to not say the word directly, and a kinda segway for the last stage having Excalibur, you know like the famous weapon that's not an axe but a sword

I like this idea. What if a meteor crashes into a new pokemon region. And this meteor made pokemon even stronger. Now first stage pokemon aren't being hatched from eggs, the second stage becomes the new first.

Deluxray has a mane that's too lion like, I can't look at it and can't think of a lion's mane. I don't know how I feel about the blue fur turning purple, but it's overall design doesn't look all that bad. The trick however is that it needs to have a slender look, which once again that mane throws everything off. Your Baxcalibur looks great, but the changes that are made are too small. But you know would this would work as? a redesign for Baxcalibur itself. I get that it's meant to use that blade on it's back to attack it's opponents, but the way it does it is just weird. This design and it's more flexible looking back look more believable (even if just a little)

I like the idea that Pokemon _can_ evolve into a fourth stage, which is basically what Mega Evolution does, howeverr there's a reason you really shouldn't evolve a Pokemon a fourth time, whether it's harmful to the Pokemon, makes them aggressive, melts them, etc, and no trainer except the most diabolical would ever consider sacrificing a Pokemon's quality of life and happiness to permanently make them extremely strong

I think there might be some confusion about Baxcalibur's theme and name, my guess is that it's a play on words of "back" and "Excalibur" (king Arthurs's sword, not an axe). Its just a dinosaur dude with a sword on its back

Honestly tho, they could just start doing 4 stage evolutions in gen10 and it would become normal, then they could add 4th stages to many previous mons. Just like giving Primape another evo. I never undestand why people wanted Luxray to be Electric/Dark so badly, it doesn’t even make sense. The lux- in Luxray comes from light in latin, which is the opposite of dark. And even do some could say that its feral nature can justify for it, in most iterations Luxray has seen to be a loyal and even heroic. So for me the Dark type in Luxray doesn’t make sense.

Not only for the obvious part, which is its intimidating appearance (two of its abilities involve rivalry/intimidation) and its black fur, Luxray has the ability to "see in the dark". The Lynx, the animal on which Luxray was based, is a solitary mammal with nocturnal habits. And the most amazing part is that just because a Pokemon has a Dark type doesn't mean it has to be malicious. Absol is the best example of this. So yes, it makes sense for Luxray to have the Dark type

@@nathansalim First of all, just because a pokemon is intimating doesn’t mean it should be Dark type, Pyroar is an intimidating pokemon with Rivalry and I’ve never heard anyone say it should be Dark type. Second, it is never stated in the pokedex that Luxray can see in the dark, it has “x-ray vision” not “night vision”. Finally, even though a Dark type doesn’t need to be evil, it is characterized by dishoroned tactics represented in moves like “sucker punch” and “beat up”. As are example, pokemon like Krookodile and Drapion are not evil but use unhinged tactics for survival, does they have the Dark type. And as you can imagine, Luxray is never stated to use this sort of tactics. So No, it doesn’t make sense.

@@drargonite9494 Pyroar is just a Lion with a fiery mane. "Normal" typing applies to this. And lions are naturally intimidating. So there's no mystery here. "Seeing in the dark" was metaphorical, for his ability to see anything with his "x-ray vision". And no, the Dark type isn't only assigned to Pokemon that use "dishonorable tactics" to win. This is just one of the associations. It also applies to Pokémon with hostile temperaments (when in the wild). And even if that were the case, Luxray learns several Dark-type moves, such as Bite, Crunch, Thief, Snarl, Fake Tears, Throat Chop, and Night Slash. In the seventh generation it also learned Taunt if my memory fails, another ability that demonstrates this hostile characteristic of Luxray.

@@nathansalim Just because a pokemon look like a certain type and learns certain moves of that type it doesn’t need to be that type. Bellibolt learns several water type moves, incineroar learns several of the fighting type and Ursaring learns several of the dark type but they aren’t of those types. I get why so many people root for Luxray being Electric/Dark, is a cool typing for a cool pokemon that kinda looks like a dark type but just because a pokemon looks like that typing it doesn’t need to be of that typing. Typings don’t come from the looks of a pokemon, they come form a pokemon’s origin and bases.

Tragmarax design is fine as an evolution, but it should't be standing up, but instead have a more horizontal posture. Make him in a pose closer to the Jurassic Park III Spinossaurus hehe

Deluxray would work well as a Mega-Evolution. Maxcalibur could work well as a Gigantamax form, because it's not different enough to be it's own evolution or even a Mega-Evolution. But Gigantamax Pokemon tend to not always have big changes.

Alright so watching this, my thoughts: Deluxary is a lazy name, and even if it “fits” doesn’t make sense as other pokemon aren’t named like that (even if you consider charmeleon a deluxe charmander, they come up with a new name to make them more distinct) Tragmarax in name doesn’t make sense as other than axe theme they don’t have to do with an Irish myth and it’s name has just become two axe themed words, forgetting the ice part. Additionally the design looks mega because it doesn’t change enough (which even though some pokemon do this, it doesn’t make ur any less dissatisfying, especially for a special 4th evo), mostly just makes previous features bigger, and the single big axe retains the stiffness. The design should have resembled arctibax a bit more, like a real spino which would fix the stiffness and give it a more unique psuedo design. Mottomarill is kinda cute, name doesn’t sound so, but also maybe making it quadrupedal would’ve made it more evo like and distinct. Lastly, you should do stats, ability, and possible lore and signature moves for some extra depth
