@@ShwappaJ so what if vegeta was more like tarble? well king vegeta would feel conflicted...on one hand his son vegeta is the strongest saiyan after broly and talented beyond imagination, on the other hand he is more of a weakling like his other son in the heart. ironically, he would be a true king in the eyes of every saiyan, even goku would join if he goes to earth, I highly doubt a fight will begin with vegeta being a calm and reasonable person.

Ahh, how nostalgic. The "What If" that started the golden era of these videos, showed us how great storytelling and creative MasakoX is and wasted potential that was in many of Toriyama's characters.

Personally I think alot of characters truly dropped out of the spotlight/truly became background characters and irrelevant once the Buu Saga began, because in up until the Cell Saga, characters that weren't Goku and Vegeta did SOMETHING atleast. Krillin and Gohan were definitely the side characters that did the most. Heck even Bulma somehow managed to stay relevant thanks to her genius mind. Once the Buu Saga began it was only Gohan, Goku, Vegeta, Mr.Satan, Goten and Trunks that did anything important against Buu. And then we're all aware that DBS became the Goku and Vegeta Show. T.O.P fixed that issue somewhat though.

As someone who became good friends with Kevin (the voice of Raditz) and Amanda (the voice of Launch) via this, I will say this story is truly heartwarming and wholesome. This is one of the greatest gems the Dragon Ball fan community ever created. Possibly even surpassing the official canon.

I thought it was pretty insane that Goku never even thinks about his brother after their encounter. Not even like a "I wonder if we would have gotten along if he was raised on Earth too?" or a "What if the roles had been reversed?". He doesn't even check on him in the afterlife. Also that Vegeta doesn't mention or think of him again even though he travelled and fought with him for over 20 years as one of 3 remaining Saiyans in Frieza's army. Just a weird lack of sentimentality, but I think Toriyama plain forgot about him lol.

The reason the “What If Raditz” timeline is my favorite series by Masako is because it isn’t just Raditz that gets to shine but in turn, other characters, OCs and canon alike, receive much deserved character arcs with actual attention and growth as characters. And that isn’t to say his other “What Ifs” don’t do the same, but this one feels more like what Toriyama’s world could’ve actually become.

This is if not, the best dragon ball related content ever. You've managed to power through and use the most robbed character in DBZ and gave him the redemption and story he rightfully deserved from the start. @@LaggerKnight he should’ve been DLC by now! Sure we have Xenoverse 2 having recent DLC due to DBS Super Hero, even then that game is still missing a few characters (Semi-Perfect Cell for instance). To have the three original Saiyan Squad on DBFZ would’ve been great!

These occasionally blips in these what ifs genuinely makes it feel like someone's telling you a story amd not just reading off a script. It makes it feel a little organic in my opinion.

1:04:05 I honestly like the friendship Raditz and Piccolo has, it seems right since in the original story the only one Piccolo really seem to have an actual companionship with is Gohan, and that’s more as a teacher/student, he doesn’t have the same kind of friendship with Goku like Goku does Krillin or Vegeta.

I just wanna point out something real quick about super saiyan 2. Ssj1 makes your hair spike up. But not all of it. Goku still has bangs. Teen Gohan still has a fair amount pointing sideways not up. And adult Gohan has a bang. Ssj2 forces all those bangs up too. It forces all your hair up. Period. Meaning technically Raditz's hair should be sticking straight up as a SSJ2 and I just think that image in my head is hilarious

@@mangoman1096 I personally think that Ssj3 multiplies the length of your hair. So Goku and Vegeta who have roughly the same length of hair. It goes about to their waist. Gohan's shorter hair would only extend about to his upper middle back. But Raditz would end up with a long golden mane that he wouldn't even have to fight. He'd just like swallow you in his hair. And for the record. I think it multiplies your hair by a factor of about 4.

I have to admit, this was perhaps the best rendition of the Shadow Dragon Saga I’ve ever seen. There were lots of weird elements in this one like the Goku Black Arc and the Tournament of Power, but the GT section was done so fantastically that whatever qualms I had about the Super sections are practically non-existent. 👍🏽

Among all of the what ifs. Raditz getting the spotlight never really got me interested. But after a few episodes i was hooked! Raditz is such a great character in the way you depicted it was such a joy to watch... Hear? Watch. Yeah. Regardless if its 4 hours i THOROUGHLY E N J O Y replaying this thinking of the excitement im in for whenever i do choose to replay it. I honestly wanted more ultra instinct, even if the gods weren't training Goku anymore I don't believe Goku would have just let the power go and never skip a day without trying to get that power back. In a sense he did the same with ssj when he was on yardrat, he had no one to teach him how to go back into ssj but he kept working at it while working on other things and eventually got it back and even improved on it

I remember people being so weird concerning part 12. Like the whole "Raunch is a Mary Sue" thing. I'm not saying some of these what-if don't go into "replacing goku as the main character" syndrome, but come on. In the same part people were complaining, Raunch outright fails because of ego. She gets eliminated first. If it was just the ribbon, I mean, it's barely a factor and is just another excuse to do something different in a Tournament that seemingly doesn't question technicalities.If it was just about her being there at all, I don't know what to say. Krillin is there. At least Roshi had UI to a degree in the manga. Krillin is Krillin and assuming similar events went down as Super, Krillin retired for a number of years so he's weaker. Then there was the whole "People say Raunch replaced Frieza when really she replaced Tien" thing which, I think Masako's just admitted it was replacing Frieza after some time. Either way even if that was the case, Frieza was a gamble given what he could do to everyone in the universe if he was revived. The gang on Earth were clearly not gonna chase Frieza down to stop whatever evil thing he's planning, as clearly shown by the canon. Meanwhile Raunch is there, alive, and mastered Super Saiyan 2. And as part 11 said, she had actually fought in a multiversal scale tournament before. unlike Trunks and Goten. People wanted Goten and Trunks in the Tournament to begin with so it's not absurd. Simply, this just works and it shows the U7 Saiyans as not invincible as one of them slipped up first.

Also, like. Gohan was also going to replace Goku as the main character and a large portion of the Fandom is still annoyed that that didn't happen.

I always thought the ribbon was wasted potential. I'd have rather the ribbon turn out to have been concealing a hair clip that doubled as a blutz wave generator and have her go Golden Oozaru. It would've tied the power bow back into Bulma's work studying GT Saiyan physiology and had payoff when she finally got SS4 in the future. (It also would've tied into the technicality that allowed Roshi to use the bottles with the Mafuba, it's an accessory that enables their natural ability) The power bow never amounts to much after its first appearance.

I love this concept so much 🤩 My only changes would be to have Vegeta be more focused on his rivalry with Goku, and that Vegeta get SSB and Raditz be the one to achieve SSJ4 (he does still have the tail after all). Just such a fun concept that's really inspired a lot of talk and thinking

I had been wondering about this ever since the first what-if compilation. This thing is five hours long, I can see why it may have taken a bit. Don't have time to watch right now, but this is a real classic of the channel. A bit odd to see Raditz kinda pulling the main character role away from Goku, but at the same time...we know what happens when Goku is the main character, so why _not_ have a little fun and give someone else the spot? Especially Raditz, who had so much potential as a character and then just sorta got rolled. Hell, even if he didn't "turn good," he could have been an interesting recurring villain, kinda like Frieza, or...y'know, literally anything at all. Instead he gets intro-boss syndrome. So what I'm trying to say here is, thanks for showing off what could have made this character great. Even if it's not "canon," it still shows that we can have fun with characters who didn't get their due justice in any official product; I can honestly say this series changed how I look at writing and at characters.

A part of me wishes this continued when the Super anime came back or covering the other sagas, but for now this is still the best string of What Ifs on this channel and the one that got me to watching and subbing to this channel.

Always love your what ifs 😍 And looking back over the many years they got better in every way. An idea for a future what if: What if the z fighters participated in the 24th World tournament (The one Hercule won) -Gohan and Videl could become early childhood friends. -The z fighters would become popular instead of Hercule Would take place sometime before the androids arrival.
