Honestly I'd argue that Mokuba being in danger makes him unstoppable. After all the 1 "win" against Yugi was because he'd rather die then lose and not save his brother. Of course it's also his aciles heel since when fighting Noah he with held his attack to protect Mokuba and thus coused him to lose
@@ryuudraco592 yeah I definitely see your point, but I feel like out of the 2 it's deffo more of a weakness like u said with noah, but remember in duelist kingdom he was going to use his new duel disks with Pegasus but Pegasus used mokuba as a way to make Kaiba use the dueling platform instead.
If Kaiba was the protagonist instead of Yugi, the story will for sure focuses on him, his brother Mokuba, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, & MOST OF ALL: Kisara. My hypothesis of how this alternate YuGiOh story would play out: 1) We might see the appearance of "Modern Day" Kisara (who is the Reincarnated version of Ancient Kisara). In the Modern Day Form, she would appear as an Orphan Girl, which would trigger a connection between Kaiba & Mokuba because Kaiba & Mokuba too were orphans. 2) In the original anime, Pegasus only produce 4 Blue-Eyes White Dragons (3 to Kaiba & 1 to Solomon Muto of which that last Blue Eyes got torn up). But in this alternate YuGiOh, Pegasus actually produced MORE than 4 Blue-Eyes White Dragons, which is those Alternate Artwork Blue Eyes we saw in many cards. Pegasus kept them a secret & Kisara happens to wield 1 Blue-Eyes White Dragon (which has the Alternate Artwork of the Stone Tablet background Blue Eyes White Dragon) 3) Kisara would use the "Eyes of Blue" Dueling Deck with her 1 & only Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Of course, we would see the "Maiden with Eyes of Blue" card utilize (which is practically Kisara herself) or "Priestess with Eyes of Blue" (which is an older version of Kisara) in certain duels. 4) Might see a love connection between Modern Kisara & Modern Kaiba but drama between the 2. A duel between Kaiba vs Kisara would be possible. Mokuba would act as a 3rd party bridge to connect Kaiba & Kisara together. 5) We might also see Mokuba dueling too. Where Mokuba would probably use a Machine Deck similar to Bandit Keith's but more towards the Union Machine Cards like XYZ Dragon Cannon or VWXYZ.
Seto Kaiba totally goes into the 'best villains' list, he outsmarts everyone else without using any millennium puzzle whatsoever, no wonder he was always cranky... :D
Great Video. But what you forgot is that Kaiba could start to find himself only after Atems Mindcrush. Before that his heart was Dark. Also, it is important, that Atem learned Kindness and Forgiveness from Yugi. It is Yugi who believes in the heart of the cards. With Kaiba as a Host, Atem would be more like....Season 0 Pharao. Cruel and punishing...
I think for Kaiba i think the darkness came in when he met Gozaburo so in my video i didnt mention the darkness because he was raised by his grandpa! But i completely agree with the second point you made because there was noone to teach Atem kindness, and it probably would be like season 0, Thanks for a great comment :D
I don't care if it looks like this verse is playing out too close to the original. Just the idea of these two working together in the most badass power team is amazing. Also, Seto learning to trust and rely on someone as strong-willed and skilled as himself instead of seeing them as a threat, and Atem having to butt heads with him are great, great concepts. This video did not go much into character development, but I imagine it would change both of them quite a lot, especially Seto.

Kaiba already did solve the millennium puzzle. He did in the DSOD movie. Also if kaiba was the protagonist, he would have been using the millennium rod, not the necklace
In this universe it makes sense cause Grandpa is his guide not Gozaburo. He still wouldn't go as far as Joey cause those two are like water and oil but I see him befriending Anzu. She isn't half bad if you analyze her personality and she did gi through the mind control thing with Marik and helped Mokuba escape that bit so she has some points with actual Seto at least. Granted he did pay her back.
So, what Seto would likely wish for would probably depend on the timing of when he solves the puzzle. Pre-adoption, it would probably be for a family who cared for him and Mokuba, or for the resources to make their dream of an amusement park where kids could go for free a reality. Both of which are effectively granted by being adopted by Gozaburo... kind of. Post-adoption, it would probably be to be free of Gozaburo's bullshit... which also eventually happens anyway, albeit in a way that leaves some really nasty mental scars on Seto. That being said, the whole "wish" thing was Yugi's interpretation of the text. I don't think Seto would jump to conclusions like that, and would instead likely contact researchers to assist in figuring out what it actually means.
This is a deep analyzation 😂 I praise you for that. Though I think they may have been referring to Kaiba as in the CEO not as in his child hood, as that’s the Seto we see more often. Though if he had found it during his child hood years(orphanage) he probably would’ve been more suited for it and grown up better with less trauma. I do agree though if he found it at the age he is when he changed Kaiba Corp to a gaming industry he would’ve used the technology to analyze it and the text
What if everyone had a different millennium item The ring for ishizu, the necklace for pegasus, the eye for yugi, the puzzle and rod for shadi, the key for marik, and the scales for bakura
I think his wish would be see kisara again. Yugi subconsciously wished for friends, I think kaiba would remember her somewhere deep in his heart since his connection to the blue eyes white dragon has always been there.
I wouldn't call Yami Yugi (as Atem was known as at the time Yugi first started realizing he existed) a psychopath. Morally questionable, sure. Sadistic? Definitely, in an "I enjoy seeing people get what they deserve to an unhealthy degree" way. But psychopaths aren't capable of emphasizing with people, Yami Yugi is, especially later on once he starts becoming his own person rather than just "Yugi's Dark Side". Yami Yugi also has an EXTREMELY strong sense of justice, again something a psychopath typically wouldn't have. Yami Yugi does some nasty things to people, but they're all people who wronged Yugi and his friends in some way. That being said, Kaiba is definitely not a good pick for the host of Atem's soul. Part of why Atem ended up as the "nice, if somewhat vindictive" person he became once he started to become his own person again before he regained his memories was because of Yugi. Seto Kaiba, especially a Seto Kaiba still under Gozaburo's influence like he was before Yugi mind crushed him, would likely reinforce the vindictive side of Atem, or "Yami Kaiba" in this scenario. Then again, Atem still had a code of honor as well, and that might rub off on Kaiba and soften him a bit. Could even break some of the conditioning Gozaburo subjected Seto to. Of course, all of this assumes things happen around the same time as canon. The video presents a very different timing of events.
5:15 "coming from his grandpa..." Seto didn't have a grandpa, and you suddenly merged Yugi Mutou and Seto Kaiba into the same person, even though you started them off as separate. Grandpa Mutou cannot be responsible for giving Seto the item or the dragon. In fact, besides saying "what if Seto completed the puzzle," you didn't give a reason as to how he got the puzzle. Kaiba Corp wasn't a company known for archeological discoveries, or had known connections to such endeavors. Just being good with games doesn't mean seto would have had the time to go to local small game shop and find a small ornate box in the corner, (which would not have been out where just anyone can see it as it was an archeological discovery) buy it, then proceed to solve a millennia old puzzle. Then you ignored the fact that he's one of the richest kids (at the time that he would have completed the puzzle) and he made it a mission to own blue-eyes before he even met Yugi. So no, Siegfried would not have any blue-eyes cards because he was a Valkyrie duelist. You left out a lot of details and huge holes in this theory.
I think you misunderstood the video, Seto kaiba was the protagonist, the concept was that he was the Grandson of Grandpa Muto, meaning he got the puzzle pieces from him. That also means he wasn't rich... and also this isnt a thoery video, its a What if video! sorry for the confusion
Ok, but you left out details such as he was now Seto Mutou from the start. And changing him from anti-protag to protag shouldn't move him from being a Kaiba. Also, if he was to take the place of Yugi, it wouldn't be Siegfried but Noah who would be the rival. (And there are even more details missing here too.) I'm telling you, there are holes in this "what if" suggestion. Yugi, as he was before he fought Kaiba, was nowhere on Siegfrieds' radar as Kaiba and Schroeder were military contract companies. (Not to mention one company was based in another country completely.) However, staying in Domino, Noah could take place of Seto as the "rich kid" that way there isn't as much wrong here. And a "what if" scenario, is a "theory" no matter what you want to call it.
I like the implication that anzu is the only friend he had lmao. She would be, in canon iirc the only reason she didny want to be was because of him being a twat over the blue eyes card. Together they'd be that one meme "someone is going to die" "of fun!"
Okay, you had me until you had Kaiba being adopted or fostered by Solomon. Yes, I know the video is what if Seto had been the good guy in this, but I think this would have been a lot more interesting if Kaiba's life up to the point he solved the puzzle was the same as it had originally been, and then seen how it changed after that. Atem's spirit was originally much darker than he came to be, thanks to Yugi. Not even going into the things that happened in Season 0, he was perfectly willing to let Kaiba fall off the castle if Yugi hadn't stopped him, and he didn't really learn his lesson until he used the Ring of Oricalcos and lost, thus losing Yugi's soul. So the spirit linked with Seto could have been a much more dangerous combo than either alone. I think that whole situation with Pegasus would have been very different with Atem and Seto together against Pegasus's shadow games. I think they would have taken care of Pegasus much sooner than in the original, and Magic Kingdom would never have happened, thus leaving Yugi and his friends to remain lower level gamers, if they ever became gamers at all.

Everyone would be no longer dueling as Kaiba would humiliate them all out of the game, obviously is what would happen. Dueling would cease to exist as Kaiba would just show up to Duel the winner out of nowhere and be all like "haha u suck."
Great job. I love all the subtle character differences and how they changed things in the story and that it wasn't just the same story but with Kaiba. Also that clip of him laughing at Serenity's blindness floored me.
Would Seto still be the jerk tho? He became that way to survive Gozeboro Kaiba through the chess match and the grueling process he was put through. Like Mokuba said after the chess match he (Seto) stopped smiling
I feel like Seto would overhear Joey talking about Serenity in school and Atem would convince him to give Joey the money. I feel like Kaiba wouldn’t care as much about money. Or he buys the porcelain company and sells it back for double so he has three mil to spare.
Seto's wish would be to marry that girl from the past, Kisara. It would be perfect, considering the fact that the anime never really focused on his love life. Seto would be a completely different person if he had a woman in his life.
I mean in dark side of dimensions it took kaiba 8 minutes(I think?) to resolve the millennium thanks to his technology so I will not be surprised if he did it faster than yugi as a kid
Well, add to that the puzzle didn't have the pharaoh's soul inside it anymore, why did the puzzle took so long to be completed? Because the puzzle was waiting for a fitting host, if the pharaoh were still inside it I assure you that not even Kaiba's technology would have been able to solve it, magic and stuff are involved after all. Edit: In the case of Kaiba being the MC maybe, maybe not, If I remember correctly it took Yugi years and to have dispair and darkish thoughts for the puzzle to welcome him as a vessel, so if Kaiba were Yugi he definitely would need to be traversing something bad, maybe not bullying but another thing, like something bad happening to the grandpa.
I don't think Kaiba's intellect would help him solve the puzzle faster. In the manga, Yugi only solves the puzzle after he goes through a tough time with someone hurting his friends and wanted to stop his bullies. The puzzle prevents unworthy people from solving it. It probably would have waited until Seto went through something traumatic before granting him access. And If Sugoroku adopted Seto and Mokuba, would that make them Yugi's brothers/cousins? I feel like that would have a huge impact too. Overall It just seems dubious that Seto as protag would have the Puzzle, he obviously is linked with the Rod.
Seto is a power hungry man. He would have wished for that power and climbed to the top of the world to have a position similar to what he has right now if not greater.
Well we all know what would've happened… He would have gotten the millennium rod and he would be in contact with his ancestor. Priest Seto. Seto Kaiba should have gotten the millennium rod to begin with… it is his right to obtain it as his ancestor had it.
Man I wish we got a continuation of duel monsters without atem and see yugi evolve actually dueling on his own in tourneys and same with kaiba. Atleast a season or 2 of life without atem, maybe a cameo here and there. It'd be cool to really show yugi as the king of games and/or kaiba then gx and so on happen after
Funny, I always saw Seto as more of a millennium key kind of guy. His dad could have been one of Salomons right-hand men and as the most trusted chosen to guard it for "research." His obsession with the item got him to be visited by Shadi who told him that the rightful owner of the millenium key would be his son Seto. Happy to hear that he hands it down. Glad with the way things are going the Yami Bakura decides to try poach the item now that the wielder is a young boy. He asks Kaiba to trade it for the lives of his parents, but Shadi intervenes, sensing a disturbance in the balance of fate. Knowing that hen can't have the item just yet enrages him and he sends Seto's parents to the shadow realm. This gives Seto his deep resentment for fate, "Magic," and item wielders even though it's the only thing keeping him and his brother alive. They end up in the orphanage as usual with Seto vowing his life goal is to become stronger in every way posible to protect Mokuba. The key senses this strong emotion and amplifies and multiplies his resolve. Everything else playes out almost the same. With the exception is that Seto doesn't go to duelist kingdom because of Mokuba but for the sake of his company. Pegasus wants his millenium key. There is no I'll jump off like this is fortnite duel or I won these for you Yugi man just give him a vasectomy why don't cha. Keith tries to poach Joey at the entrance, but fails and is disposed of by pegassus himself as he welcomes them into his castle. Final four are Kaiba, Yugi, Mai, and Joey. Yugi beating all three and Pegasus, Kaiba Losing to Yugi, but beating the other two. Joey Loosing all his matches for later character development. Yami beats Pegasus, showing him that he was only in the path to release Nitemare. Out of gratitude, Pegasus not only releases Salomon, pays Sorenity, and Seto is later able to talk with Pegasus strictly business and fate continues...to be continued. I might have forgoten some details but it's been a while since it's been a while since I saw the show.
1st thing it was 3000 years not 5000. Dub version changed the time. 2nd Atem didnt believe in the heart of the card. He was merciless when he was reawakened shown in both manga and season 0 and became softer as time passed with influence of Yugi. So if Kaiba was the one who awakened Atem then They would have merciless duo.
How can Seto even begin to be as good as he is without the influence of Gozaburo? Kaiba wasn't really as good without Gozaburo pushing him as cruelly as he did. He had some talent clearly, but you can't just suddenly make him replace Gozaburo with Yugi's grandpa, or there could be a huge shift. Much of his drive for success was instilled into him by Gozaburo. His desire to protect Mokuba only affects that. What he'd do for him. But his desire to never lose was really put into him by Gozaburo, to a disgustingly stressful degree. If not for him, Seto wouldn't take loss the way he does.
What if Yusai had to time travel to assist Yugi throughout the original Yu-gi-oh! tv series? How would the Pegasus react to Synchro monsters and Majestic Dragon materializing out of thin air at the top of Yusai’s deck?
I prefer a tournament where all char from yugi world, gx, 5ds, zexal, arc-v, and vrains battle each other to defeat a new boss enemy that threaten their world No seven Too damn easy with that Rush duel thing

As someone who always went more with the antihero (so I'm a little biased) this sounds more interesting. A flawed main character with a alter ego who is more so his conscience. He battles with himself as well as the villains. So by the end of the series when the alter ego is to leave, the egotistical main character is now a good man. Kudos to you sir for the great video.
I thought about it and a way to get yugi into the plot could be that Yugi helped Kaiba solve the puzzle- due to Yugi's love for puzzles of course- and perhaps that set of a great friendship between the two?
Wow, this story sounds pretty amazing! I like the butterfly effect that comes from this. But... oh god. The tag team duel with one body? It sounds very uncomfortable...
Weevil throwing away Exodia sets the stage for him to be Kaiba's semi final opponent while Bandit Keith cheats to beat Rex continuing Rex's legacy of losing to cheaters. Weevil loses to Kaiba who then battles Bandit Keith in the finals, Keith cheats again but still loses and Pegasus gets the better of Keith ejecting him for cheating before the final show down between champion and creator. Pegasus makes sure Weevil is expelled for cheating after Kaiba beats him too. Rex depressed about losing to Keith especialy after Keith cheated is told by Pegasus to cheer up because Weevil being exposed as a cheater means the title of regional champion officially passes to Rex and since Bandit Keith also cheated Rex is declared runner up of Duelist Kingdom too. Kaiba laughs saying runner up is just first loser and that he'll beat Rex and take his title as regional champ when he's done with Pegasus. Now now Kaiba boy play nice or I'll expel you for poor sportsmanship.
Maybe Kaiba would wish for a better life for him and his brother or make the blue eyes white dragon come to live because what a simp he is towards nit 😂
Here’s some interesting ideas WHAT IF… 1. Yuma never met Astral or at least Astral as the protagonist 2. Joey defeated Marik 3. Yuzu was the protagonist of Arc V 4. Yubel never got Super Polymerazation in the final duel of season 3 against Jaden. 5. Vector defeated Yuma at Sargasso 6. Yuri defeated Yuya before Zarc was revived 7. Akiza never met Yusei and how her life would life would turn out. 8. Yugi defeated Rafael under the Orichalcos influence. 9. The Knight’s of Honoi’s revenge was on the Ignis and not Sol Tech as Lighting was responsible for nearly everything that happened including infecting Revolver’s father. 10. Takeru Homura/Soulburner was the protagonist of Vrains 11. Reiji was the protagonist of Arc V 12. Yuga created Maximum Summon instead of Nail. 13. Utopia wasn’t Yuma’s ace Number monster 14. Zero Reverse never happened What do think! Would they make interesting theories to cover?
