They were trying to find someone able to harness the power of the Ruby,as they thought there it was a connection between it and Solaris As it turns out,the Ruby IS actually connected to Solaris,and so the Phantom Project starts The people who were selected and will try to harness the Ruby are Infinite and his siblings,the Jackal Squad Infinite,the most proud and brave member of his family,decides to be the 1st to try:he gets put into a machine and becomes one with the Ruby:however,the Ruby starts to overclock,the energy flow is unstable,and the facility starts to crumble. "WHAT'S HAPPENING?! STOP!STOP EVERYTHING!" Says the Duke,but then he hears a familar voice: "Daddy! I'm scared!"says Elise,as the Ruby splits into 2. The Duke tries to protect Elise and flees,as Silver and Shadow finally see what's happening. Iblis and Infinite are born,and they try to escape. While trying to flee,Infinite sees that his family is still alive,but now they have become monsters and beg for help. Infinite is happy to see them again,but right before he could do anything to save them,Shadow kills them all and seals him. As he gets sealed,he says:"You.....you truly are Heartless! I will make you pay for your every action!",thinking the Hedgehog did it on purpose,while in reality he was the only one who could hear them calling for help,and all Shadow heard were just snores and howls coming from them Meanwhile,Iblis(the embodiment of the "Flames of Illusions"aka the power of the Ruby to control Reality)was sealed inside Elise and Silver took care of her just like in the base game Infinite's revenge plan is simple:he will find Elise and join with Iblis again He,just like Mephiles,has power over time,but not over Reality,which is controlled by Iblis. Once they merge,Solaris will be complete
@@Shadex_Joestar I don’t know how I feel about the ruby being connected to Solaris, but I do like the idea of the What If stemming from the Duke coming across the Phantom Ruby. I mean the Duke wanted to harness the power of Solaris to travel through time and fix the mistakes of their past but if you have a ruby that can change reality, and say bring back his beloved wife, it honestly be just as affective.

One problem with this what if, the eclipse cannon wouldn’t exist sense it was only created because Gerald wanted to destroy the black arms when they returned for “the promised time”
