It's been a long time huh? Sorry no Intro and Outro for this video haha.
I just made this video immediately after discovering this AWESOME banger by ‪@Dads_Last_Nerve‬. He made a "Battle" remix for Windmill Isle Night that tries to imagine Sonic Unleashed having a Battle remix for the current stage themes with adaptive music instead of the annoying Werehog Battle theme. So I made this what-if video to show what it would look like if Sonic Unleashed had adaptive music. I also used a mod made by a fellow member of the Hedgehog Engine Modding Server (HEMS) to make the battles longer and more challenging.
Keep in mind that this is NOT a mod. It's an edited video.

After playing Nier Automata, I definitely thought on how cool it would had been for Unleashed to have it to avoid restarting the track between scenarios like normal run, small enemies, horde, precision and semi boss moments...

I really like this take because as you get further on, the stages get longer so we get so much time with the regular ost, the battle music doesn’t take up much of the gameplay time💯 that’s why I’m so n your side with this take honestly

It’s not the battle theme itself, it’s the fact that in game you keep hearing DU DU DU DU DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU every 5 seconds

This is so cool! Sound effects were a bit too loud though so I had a hard time hearing it. If they ever port Unleashed again they really need to do something about that battle music. The werehog themes are some of my favorite.

If Unleahsed EVER gets a rerelease, sega needs to do this. Its so much better than the jazz band ruining the vibe. I also dont much care for the autotune effect sonic has in the day when he boosts ( this is in every game now for some reason) I much prefer the adaptive music approach. They actually did it in generations but only with 2 levels for some reason? (modern green hill and modern sky sanctuary)

I am a modder myself. Although I had contact from other modders and they also confirmed that making an adaptive music mod is IMPOSSIBLE sadly. Our only hope is the PC port/Remaster

I've been talking about this idea with some friends for a few years now, I even used the Cood Edge NIght cover from @SonicGuitars Channel to show my example, but at the time I manually increased and decreased the volume with two browser tabs open. I was stalling to make a video of my idea. I'm happy to know that I wasn't the only one who thought about the potential this idea has. I hope they can make a mod for this one day

The new battle theme reminds me of Ultrakill’s battle themes for some reason, I don’t know why, but that might just be me. But anyways, great video, and also nice job to the guy who made the battle theme remix!

Similar approach to the UAF Ben 10 games, where each level had a "Normal" and "Battle" theme, that would swap per section, I'd love this for an Ultimate Unleashed, considering they have resources for OST remixes, based on Colors.

For those who like the original battle theme, I think it's... fine. The only reason I and so many others want an adaptive take like this is because it would constantly interrupt the flow of focus when you're suddenly assaulted by horns. So having the theme fully change only in a fight with a major midboss works better while keeping the same theme in a standard enemy rush. If Eggmanland can do it, everywhere else can.

Personally would've preferred if there were location-based variants/remixes of the Werehog battle theme (with the original jazz band version reserved for Empire City as it fits perfectly there) but this is pretty cool too.

The funny thing is the song we know was in fact meant for Empire City but ofc limitations such as budget so long ago had it needed to be for everywhere. Still would've been nice if SEGA thought of doing it anyway and have few things cut.

I don't find the music itself annoying, just the fact that it had to play every other second. It was an amazing track let down by how many times ya had to hear it. Still, definitely would've preferred something like this! Well made!
