Would you want to see starters get branched evolutions someday? If you like videos like this, grab a Folkachi plush to support their creation! It helps out massively and they are SO SOFT AND CUTE AHHHH www.histrobeashop.com/store/p/folkachi-histrobea-chronicles-plushie-85
oshawatt and fucoco final evo. looks more like middle stages then fully evolved pokemon. like it was they looking like. I think a bit more reacher in final stages and wha t they are supose to look like will help.
"if you're gonna do a branched evolution you can't have both evolutions be the same type" Slowbro, Slowking, Appletun, Flapple, Dipplin, Gorebyss and Huntail would like to have a word with you
@@shinken6636 Not really. Some people really do prefer quadrupeds, and we've been lacking on those lately. What you're saying is definitely true for a lot of other complaints, but I don't think it really applies to this one.
I think a neat split evolution for Sprigatito would be a quadruped Puss-In-Boots like Pokemon, with a large grass hat and a massive leaf blade in its mouth (kinda like Zacian).
I thought of a few ideas for branched evolutions of the Kanto starters, like a quadropedal Charmander evo that's a fire/ground type, a Bulbasaur Evo with a carnivorous flower that's a grass/Dark type, and a Squirtle Evo that's part dragon, has a long neck and a long braided tail.
Vagranott! This is my favorites is dope than Samurott. How about branch evolution for Grookey, Sobble, Scorbunny, Tepig, and Snivy. For the branch evolution for Grookey turn into Grass/Rock because rock and roll drummers, Sobble turn into Water/Ghost, Scorbunny turn into Fire/Electric, Tepig turn into Fire/Ground(NO MORE FIRE/FIGHTING TYPE), and Snivy turn into a Grass/Poison or Grass/Dark. If Gamefreak created idea to have starter Pokémon branch evolution, that will be the next big idea for all fans enjoy.
It's funny how you just did 3 of the starters I already like 😂 None of this are bad at all, but I still prefer the other evos But I would be intrigued to see branched evos of Torchic, Tepig and Scorbunny (3 I don't like particularly) to see if the result is something I would maybe choose
*Please make the full evolution line for your Gen 9 Italy starters!🙏🙏🙏🙏 I'm in love with the designs and concepts behind Leoke, Brimgoat, and Squirtrot; and it's a crime they don't have full evolutions already designed.* In regards to this idea of starters having branching evolutions, I admit I'm not a big of this idea. I mean, what if I pick Fuecoco because of Skeledirge? Cocomer does nothing to me. However Besenarde is the best of this bunch. It looks spectacular.
Bezenarde’s super cooooool Personally, I do like how Delphox is bipedal, it’s design just isn’t… interesting enough for the bipedality to be pulled off lol
Loved Fenniken & Oshawott’s branched evo, Fuecoco’s ima kinda natural towards but the lore for all three are really solid. These would be cool for a game where branching evolution is a thing. Can’t wait for more
I’d never considered the idea of branched evolutions for starters, and I gotta say it’s a fantastic idea. I’ve been saying for years I would love to see a starter trio that is grass/water, water/fire and fire/grass. Combining these two ideas, I think it would be sick af if we have a trio of monotype starters, who in their final form, had the option of gaining one of the other two types A grass starter that becomes either grass/fire or grass/water… water starter becomes either water/fire or water/grass… fire starter becomes either fire/grass or fire/water… am I crazy? Unrelated, it would also be sick if there were a starter trio where all three gained the dragon type, since it would maintain the type advantage balance, and since we’ve had steel and fairy starters idk why we can’t have dragons too.
Love the one for oshawott, was always a fun of the first 2 stages but not so much the third. Would also love to see tepig, IMO its one of the very cutest starters and then its 2 evos ruin it!
Oshawott is my favorite pokemon, and I actively hate Samurott. Tbh it being quadruped was never the problem for me. It was the fact that, despite what the name implies, it is not on otter like oshawott and dewott. It is a sea lion. Which i mean cool ig? But I just wanted my otter starter to evolve into a stronger otter. I like this alternative evo a lot though and would choose it everytime
Cocomer is a huge miss. That cake flame doesnt look like it and even if it does its still a miss because bro the whole reason its fairy is because its a food themed pokemon? Thats not a very strong theme, at least kind-off mirror or reference the original theme of a spanish festival but put a different spin like a different festival or a different approach.
Now I’m thinking about a joke version of fuecoco that is pure grass to make jokes to coconuts and those not being nuts so the name implies that it is a fire type but it isn’t. Also it could evolve into a common desert in Brazil that is called burnt coconut or “coco queimado”
I'd definitely pick the split evo for Fennekin, it is awesome! But the other two, i am ok with the second one but Cocomer i don't like. So these two i would stick with the other final evos
Split-Evo's will never happen though.. Like imagine one of the evo's completely overshadowing the other, then that basically rents the unpopular one absolete, sicne nobody is gonna use it anyways.
@@nickdentoom1173 True, but there will always be people who choose which one to go for. And hey, the more options and looks of the starters, the more people can customize and choose which one they like the most.
@@nickdentoom1173 I mean, it's not like that all Starters in their Trio are loved on the same level. We have Meganium, who get's overshadowed by the other two in their trio, and the same goes for like Primarina, Inteleon and Quaquaval. But then we got Charizard and Greninja, who completely destroy THE OTHER TWO in popularity. This is also quite the case for Swampert, Infernape, Samurott and Decidueye, but not THAT bad tho. *(About Charizard)* -Venusaur and Blastoise are very popular too (most of the time because of Nostalgia), but they are small next to Charizard, who did not just get a mega, but got two, got his shiny changed to black (fans absolutely love black shinies), got into a regional dex in galar and got his gigantamax before the dlc, while the other two came with the dlc and Charizard came back in gen 9 as the first terra raid + he's the ace of the galar champion. *(About Greninja)* -And then we look at Greninja, who completely destroys Delphox and Chesnaught. Greninja is the only Pokemon (ever) to get an own form with the bond phenomenon thingie (which is similar to mega evolution but gives +110 bst instead of +100 and it's the ability, so it can also hold an item), he is the ace of ash in kalos, gets a black (and red) shiny (as I've said, fans absolutely love black shinies) AND is in Super Smash Bros, and he also got his Tera Raid very early, while Chesnaught and Delphox got... *nothing.* I mean, they had their Pokemon Go community day before Greninja, but that's it I think. -So Split Evo Starters won't be bad + we also have Hisuian Starter Forms, which is a split evo, just in a different game. So even if it won't happen in a mainline game, I could totally see it in like a spin off maybe, but who knows? *Thx for reading and have a great day :D*
I like what you did with Cocomer carrying on some of the same personality of Fuecoco. I like Skeledirge most out of the Gen 9 starters' final evolutions, but I also agree that it was a shame to see my adorable derpy crocodile lost in its final form. Then, I ended up benching him in favor of Ceruledge because they had the same typing, and Ceruledge is BA.
I would love to see more videos in this series as these kind of design speculations are what I usually enjoy about the release of a new generation's starters.
Holy dang! Okay, while I actually LOVE Samurott (and its Hisuian variant as well), Vagranott is such a creative idea! I look forward to seeing more of this concept!
Branched starters would be so cool to see implemented! Really gives Digimon vibes with their multiple different forms for different scenarios. Also, Cocomer works so well on just so many levels
The issue with Samurott is that they were building up to him being a swordweilding samurai, and all of a sudden its a different animal species on all fours that cant do the cool slashies. Thought Pokemon Legends: Arceus was gonna rectify this and make Samurott stand on its hind legs (and make Typhlosion a quadruped because it standing has never made sense either), and instead just got Samurott with a darker head. The starter i want a split evo for though (or it can be a regional form) is a Blastoise that looks a lot more like Wartortle.
It’s always been a cool idea to explore - only one starter for the whole region that can evolve into three or more different types depending on what terrain it’s on, or what action it’s specifically doing once it reaches a certain level
I getcha, but still (for me at least), the more alternative forms of the starters, legendaries, mythicals, and pokemon in general (from dragons to eeveelutions), the better and more choices each player can have to customize their Pokemon experience.
I would love to see branches evos for Chikorita, pupleo and maybe sobble too. I feel like me along with other fans were somewhat disappointed with their evolutions (I love all Pokemon tho) I like Meganium though I understand were some people say that it is a bit bland. I think keeping the head leaf would be nice and keeping the flower motif would be good. Maybe having something more androgynous or masculine would help them as well because they are all mostly feminine, not that feminine designs are bad but I feel like that's the most complained about thing.
When I was a kid the first time I saw tropius I actually thought that it was a branched Evo for chikorita I know that they are a generation apart but I feel like tropius and meganium have designs that are uncannily similar
When designing the Oshawott line, the designers desired something more interesting than simply making a bigger bipedal otter for the final form of Oshawott. Designer Yusuke Ohmuru was inspired by sea lions at the Sunshine Aquarium and chose to use a sea lion for the design of the final stage. Though the design of your final form of Oshawott certainly did look like it could’ve been a possible evolution for Dewott.
Good video. The alternate Delphox is good, but I believe its design could use some improvements. The Alternate Samurott looks like it could be a worthy opponent for its Hisuian counterpart! As for Skeledirge, I have no problem with its design since it is almost like Mudkips's evolution.
Note: “almost”, because Swampert- unlike Skeledirge- is still a complete derp and if you don’t believe me look up A) Swampert art and B) its Gen 3/4/5 sprites when it looked like the derpiest thing on the planet. I love Swampert so much
For Besenarde, I think a good design modification is putting a stick sticking out of its tail! SInce Braixen also has a stick on its tail, it would feel more connected to each other.
I came up with a lore idea for Besenarde: When a Braixen’s wand either breaks or when it “loses touch” with its wand, the Braixen will instead focus on wits rather than magic. After perfect such a craft, it will eventually evolve into a Besenarde.
Anyone else think its odd he didn't do a grass type? I'm not mad I'm more confused and a tad disappointed because grass is my favorite type. But seriously I was expecting a grass type on the third one because it was fire, water, but fire again? Still going with a food theme due to a coincidental naming convention. Stunning.
Slowbro and Slowking are the same types. Flapple, Appletun, and Dipplin are all the same types. What is this about branched evolutions not being the same types?
i like Delphox i only dont like how simple it looks there was a video where a poke artist redesigned Delphox more as a witch with a real staff it looked so freaking good
Well, for me it’s purely a case by case basis, but a lot of people in general feel that making them bipedal makes them far too humanoid looking, such as with Delphox, Inteleon, Meowscarada, etc., which a lot of people don’t enjoy too much, especially with starters where the expectations for their evolutions are high.
I hope that if squirtle gets a branched final evo that it is based off its original beta final evo design. I can see it being a water/dragon type. Maybe even have all 3 of the kanto starters branch to be part dragon.
Actually, Ronin means "samurai without a master". It is stated in the movie 47 Ronin , and my Dad who was fluent in Japanese confirmed when we watched the movie together. Also I LOVE Samurott! It looks like a samurai despite being onnall fours. "Vagranott", not so much.
The problem with Samurott for me isn’t just because it’s quadrupedal, IT’S THAT IT’S NOT EVEN AN OTTER. It just randomly turns into a sea lion, an animal with no actual relation to otters, and it’s worse because it was the one that got designed before Oshawott and Dewott, so how did the first one that got designed fit so much less than the ones designed afterwards?!
@@LukeSkywalker-zv3xy sea lions already have four limbs, just flippers instead of legs. The point is that Samurott feels much more like a sea lion than an otter, and it was made to intentionally be like a sea lion. It would’ve been better if there was a sea lion Pokémon evolution line that Samurott was a part of instead of an otter one.
I never understood the discourse over Samurott, I LOVED his design, albeit a bit awkward in combat physics. But then I met Delphox and then I understood the people who were anti-Samurott lmao I'm sorry can we ALSO just recognize that Fuecoco's Final Forms are so well thought out. When you think about how dark Fairytales are in origin, Cocomer suddenly makes Fuecoco look 10x scarier than Skelederge. I mean the egg became a pastry ingredient and that was the Fairy Type form... The Ghost form hatched the flame bird, Fairy Form freaking cooked it!!
One idea I had would be the Popplio line. Its final evolution is Primarina, which is a Water/Fairy Pokemon, which kinda runs counter into the secondary perfect weakness triangle the other starters had (Decidueye has Ghost as secondary, which is weak to Incineroar's Dark type, which is weak to Primarina's Fairy type, which is NOT weak to Decidueye's Ghost type). Really, to have it make sense, Primarina should have a Water/Fighting type thing going on. The final branched evolution would be a Water/Fighting Type Pokemon, and it would look like an Elephant Seal. Elephant Seals are notoriously aggressive, and the males are well-known for beating the crap out of each other during mating season. The males also have large noses, hence the name. Popplio's little pink nose could enlarge during its evolution, growing darker and sagging as it grows up. Since Primarina is the Soloist Pokémon and is depicted as a singer/performer, this branched evolution (not sure what to call it) would represent the circus strong man, and it'd be the Strong Man Pokemon. It could even sport a kind of leopard-skin pattern jumpsuit, making it also resemble a Leopard Seal. This way, the Elephant Seal Pokemon would be strong against Incineroar, but ineffective against Decidueye.
I genuinely will never understand why some people get so upset about bipedal starter evos Existing. Like oh no, the fictional creature that does not exist in real life and only has a vague resemblance to any irl animals stood on its hind legs, how horrible 9_9
1. Besenarde I absolutely love. I'll pick it over Delphox any day. 2. Vagranott's okay, but I prefer Samurott. 3. Cocomer has a great name, but it's my least favorite of the three. It's probably because Skeledirge is my favorite of the fully evolved Paldean starters.
Branched evolutions for Starter Pokémon sounds like an amazing idea My idea for a branched evolution for Tepig would be something that goes back on all four's as what I hoped for instead of what we got in the form of Emboar. Instead of a bipedal fire/fighting type wrestler pig, I would have come up with a fire/dark type that resembles a cross between a warthog and an Entelodont, a type of aggressive and extinct relative to modern day pigs.
The biggest problem with Delphox, in my opinion, is that the design is too feminine for a Pokémon who's gender ratio leans more towards being a mostly male group.
Love this idea and most of the designs. Unfortunately I absolutely hate your interpretation of Fuecoco , lol your evolution looks too much like a cow and didn't bring in the bird hatching at all, totally a missed opportunity
Definitely interesting concepts but I'm a little bummed abt cocomer. I feel like it completely forgets about the original concept of the fuecoco line of being spanish skeleton crocodiles. Cocomer really can't exist with any kind of context because it's just too different from the original line
I love the fennikin branch evo along with cocomer. I think Oshawott is cool looking, I feel like it is missing the she that is so dear to Oshawott and Dewott. Also Cocomer having a cake replace the egg is funny because it implies that maybe Cocomer got to not or something and just cooked the egg, there for the bird inside too
You should give Popplio a masculine evolution so only girls can evolve into brionne. And we need more bipidel starters to be quadupedal in the 2nd stage
