Sadly, if that happened, Sanemi wouldn't have even listened to Tanjiro and would have just knocked him out. Or he'd knock him down hard enough to not get back up and would have killed Nezuko in front of him. Once he did Tanjiro, in the throws of grief, would be crying over her and would call Sanemi a murder, thus causing some Vietnam flashbacks from his past. He'd probably hate Tanjiro on the spot for reminding him of his younger brother. We'd probably get the first design of Tanjiro who is serious and with angry or lifeless eyes. He might find Urokodaki on his own but with more determination, more vengeful and *possibly* having less compassion towards demons. Upon meeting the Hashira, he might just headbutt Sanemi on the spot and openly call him a murder for killing his younger sister which might cause some misunderstanding among the Hashiras. Or Sanemi would argue she was already a demon and thus had to die which will have the Hashiras siding with Sanemi and thus leading Tanjiro to having little to no respect for any of the Hashira.
