The Boer Republics of southern Africa, Transvaal and the Orange Free State, were conquered by Britain in the early 1900s. This video brings up the question, what if that had never happened? What if the Boer Republics Survived?
I am actually from that Natal Republic capital city of Pietermaritzburg. Its literally the most English place in the country (We weren't a Boer republic for long and were a British colony for far longer). Fun fact: The Cape Province (Western Cape, Northern Cape and a bit of the Eastern Cape) is actually mulling the idea of seceding from South Africa due to the difficulties the country as a whole is going through under the ANC. Honestly the seriousness of the discussions hangs on the outcome of this next election.
Very nice channel, I liked it very much and it earned my subscription. Just 2 things I recommend. Maybe try pre reading your scripts or do multiple takes for your audio to avoid stuttering. Also try colorizing your maps, it makes things easier to follow. Overall though very nice, keep up your work
Pretty good video. As an Afrikaans south african living it what would be one of the boer republics, this is quite accurate. My only issue is the typical English pronunciation of "boer" the natives here would love to hear an accurate pronunciation for once. But this was a very good straight to the point video and I will definitely be subscribing and following the channel dearly
