There do seem to be certain people on this server who have proven themselves very willing to dedicate absurd amounts of time to mundane tasks like that... not that I'm judging them given in my current project I have spent 8 months *building and leafing custom trees by hand* and still have a third of the project to go. XD
I absolutely adore the editing choices you've made for this! The scene of riding the strider with sweeping visuals & music was great, but what I really love is how it works as a juxtaposition for the later spawn-proofing timelapse. Because we've already been shown the scale and grandeur of the area, slabbing it over becomes this man v. overwhelming nature thing rather than just 'here is several hours of work condensed'. Also love the transition back to spawn with Eloise, which gave an uncanny mood without contributing to/depending on specific story elements. I am so excited that you're able to just play around with editing techniques in this series, because that's already resulting in some really cool stuff :D
Yeah, even though there's no storyline in this series, it's been fun editing these episodes to have a more narrative structure. Feels very different to the information-focused approach of the Survival Guide videos
Hey pix, i had this thought last episode: you should theme each tool grave around something significant that happened in that section of the dig. Last time, for example, it would have been lava themed, of course. Anyways, love the episode! The cinematography and music are awesome
I wanted to have episode 2 out sooner, but I was so focused on getting a beacon for it - so building the farm was part of that journey. Episode 3 should be out early next week!
The music for Caves & Cliffs is just amazing and fits the game so well. And I love that you use the music in your videos. There is absolutely nothing wrong with more youthful and joyful content, but I enjoy the more serious and cinematic feel of your videos. Bdubs has been doing something similar for the last year or so, elevating his videos with a more cinematic music and editing. I love that kind of content.
So, I was thinking about how you mentioned to Fhwip about switching to wither roses after the end is unlocked, but you should be able to make a wither rose farm without the end. A farm in the end killing endermen for wither roses is easier in the long run, but for an idea, Keralis recently made a wither rose farm from another content creator that uses zombie piglins as the fuel source and the farm is in the overworld... You could potentially create a wither rose farm utilizing a zombie spawner for a mob source for the wither roses as an example.
Sure, I could also just hatch a ton of chickens or create snow golems and release them into the area where I plan to fight the Wither. I'm waiting for the End because it involves minimal research, it's convenient, and I don't strictly *need* wither roses for this farm to be as productive as we need in the meantime (since making this video I've fought four more withers and still have six skulls left over.) I just don't bother saying all that in the video
While I enjoy a handful of the creators in this series, your perspective and videos are by far my favorite. The story telling, cinematography, and explanations are perfect. Thank you!
Yeah, both Joey and Shubble joined later in S1 and I didn't find the right moments to hang out with them before we all got swept up in the storyline stuff.
Pix! The music, the cinematography, your progress on the server... it's insane! I hugely enjoy these episodes. Giving me goosebumps with the intro alone
It would do, yeah. The warden might be tankier, but the wither is *fast* and has much shorter cooldowns. The wither's ability to fly is just icing on the cake.
Pix, i gotta say: as a filmmaker, your cinematography in this is amazing. It looks awesome. If i could give some feedback to take it to the next level: find a shader that really makes lighting cinematic (lots of bright and dark, preferably something that creates a backlight effect, i believe AsianHalfSquat recently made a video about a combination that’s absolutely stunning) so that the lighting, which looks amazing for a video game but kinda flat in film, becomes varied and interesting. Also, do some research into framing and composition of shots. You’ll get a lot more detail and variety, and it’ll help to communicate exactly what you want. Anyways, these’re the most interesting cinematics ive seen in MC YT, so keep up the good work!
Pix is like an entire package, one of the best players at the game, entertaining, informative and makes such cool cinematics. Like damn how talented can one person be
Honestly, between Hermicraft and SOS that must be your content that I'm most looking forward to. Quite surprisingly as I'm more into building and aventure content but you do have something special when you do it. I hope we see more of that on your channel, keep up with the excellent work and a big thank you ;)
It's fun watching y'all work together and work on your individual projects. Really different - but ditto on the I love the survival guides a lot too. so you need to keep us both going Pixl!!! Thanks loads. Granny Lee
Loved the episode Pix! Your editing skills are top notch, this episode was beautiful to watch. And no, no I did not have you and Fwhip fighting 4 withers on my bingo card, nor the first shop being beacons. Beacon Boys!
the intro and music is way to epic for an smp with goofy friends lol ❤ So happy to finally check out Pixelriffs after watching hermitcraft recap for so long now
i know you and fwhip were probably joking around but legitimately selling “wither kits” would be so good because when a customer buys a kit they could or could not buy “insurance.” as well as the one iron block or whatever payment you choose for the insurance they would leave their fate coin so you or fwhip could bring them back incase the wither kills them. if they dont get killed by the wither and have bought the insurance they can keep it for another wither kit use or buy their coin back from yall!
Pix, you and fwhip are two of my favorite minecraft dudes, and its always a treat when you hang out!! Also, i think youve been covering Hermitcraft too long.... theyre rubbing off on you. A mini perimeter and a crazy first farm is a very hermity thing to do lol. Love to see it!
Awesome video. Loved watching you build the wither skeleton farm. Someone actually did a Warden vs every mob on Bedrock and the Warden vs Wither was kind of a tie. The Warden won initially but then the Wither's last explosion took him out.
Hi Pix! This is my first time watching you in a series. I came to sos from Jimmy - you’ve easily become my favourite to watch on this smp!! Excited for your build, the chicken scene was hilarious 😂 take my sub, and have an amazing day friend! 😊
Slabbing the nether to spawn proof it is such a good idea. I've started just tearing out the terrain wholesale in a 128 radius, roof to floor. I've mined over 800,000 netherrack and 600,000 basalt, which i calculate to be about 1/6 of the entire perimeter, and the burnout is real xD. Should have jus slabbed.
