It’s surprisingly easy to topple a totalitarian government that is oligarchical in nature. Simply get them to fight each other. If they have a leader they all rally behind and is the only thing holding them together and preventing them from taking power themselves simply get rid of said leader. Or just use some sort of false flag operation or cause an event which will collapse them into infighting. *CIA shenanigans intensify*

This kind of makes Palpatine's rise to power even more insane and ambitious. Realistically the odds were against him, the Jedi just got too comfortable.

Granted, the domino effect in the Jedi Order took _way_ longer than in this scenario, but in both stories, all he had to do was manipulate their corruption to his benefit. The Jedi Order was not loved by the galaxy. They did great things for the galaxy for sure, but they also took children from their families the moment they got a whiff of potential force power from them. They were seen as power-hungry religious bullies, and despite claiming to be peacekeepers, they were basically a secret army for the Republic. The galaxy was divided between loyalists who loved the Republic and the Separatists who hated what the Republic had become. All Palpatine had to do was set the two groups against each other, and watch as the Republic imploded from the inside out. While I do see your point about how insane and ambitious it was, I think something people forget about Palpatine is that he isn't the supreme mastermind that people make him out to be. He made mistakes all the time, and there were so many examples (especially in extended universe) that show just how easy it would've been to catch him... But the Jedi and the Republic failed. He was simply a man with power who knew how to use it. That's the scary part about his character- not that he's super smart or can see the future like he says, but because all it takes is someone like him with his wealth and charisma to turn the Republic into the Empire. Only in this case, it was used for good to turn the Empire into a Republic.

what I would add to the story..... As Palpatine traveled the galaxy after destroy the Sith, he encountered a young Zabrak on Dathomir, he was to become a night brother, but Palpatine sensed his potential in the light, and took the child in as his first padawan, "Maul", that was the youth's name. but in the temple, a Sith Apprentice stood from the sea of corpses, Obi Wan Kenobi used ancient sorcery and twisted machines to mend the wound he sustained in the battle, and dragged himself to his starship, defeated, betrayed, and humiliated, he set course for Tattooine, a planet that never was touched by the Sith, it was there he found a young slave boy, "he could be Sith'ari" Obi Wan said, as he ignited his blade, and sliced off Watto's head.

or make it the other way around, Palpatene sensed that he had to go to Tattooine, where he found a young slave boy who could perhaps be the choosen one then after that the battle between the sith begins after his training so he can assist

This could be expanded to an Andor like show were Palpatine and Plagueis spend most of their time gathering allies besides Dooku and/or Maul (Palpatine's role in the show) and like Plagueis does in cannon, fund corporations and Dooku helping to start an moralistic Confederacy/Rebel Alliance with A Clone/Droid Army Hell, while we're at it a good guy Tarkin, Grevious and even Thrawn being notable leaders Nute Gunray not being a coward but a genuinely nice, and caring business man who helps fund this Confederacy, And the Sith would have an Imperial like government where Grand Lord Yoda and his counsel are definitely the ones in charge but would have a Prime Minister and (mabye) House of Commons to do the boring administration for them where Palpatine pretends to be an MP and ends up impressing the Counsel so they appoint him to be Prime Minister As for the last guy well.... Maybe Valorum could be a Tywin Lannister So much opportunity here just pray to God Disney doesn't hear about this, cause they might fumble it

What's great about this story is that this scenario is exactly why the rule of two exists. Before that rule the sith would always be in conflict with each other, and the very nature of the dark side being spread through so many sith meant that no single sith would ever get powerful enough to something meaningful.

This was pretty interesting. My only nitpick is that Plagueis would've gone by his original name, thus be Jedi Master Hego Damask. But to be fair, it could be confusing to try to give every would-be-Sith their original names, so it makes sense why not change it.

The jedi had to hide so they took names of things they were most against so that whenever they speak their names, the Jedi would never forget their duty to the galaxy, no matter how hopeless that fight may be. It's not too hard to bullshit a lore reason why the 'Jedi' here keep their Sith names from the og timeline.

Yoda always looked like a Gremlin to me, a goblin, an imp whatever you want to think so whenever I think of Yoda's Back story or a summary of his species I like to imagine that he is mischievous by nature. The fact that he is overly playful around Luke when meting him, it serves as a test and also let's you know that Yoda has been on a remote planet for too long, you could say he semi reverted back to his nature. Even Grogu in the whole time he was with Mando and has done so much naughty things never once listening to him or even learning not to do such things. It's only a theory but I find it to be extremely interesting if a grand Jedi master was actually a creature of mischief and childish immortality which would paint Yoda as a character who learned to be a Saint through trial and error. We aren't necessary good when we are kids, we have to learn these things through whatever parental figure we have or what life leaves us with. It's just something I like to think of as a possibility.

@@darthnihilusreborn14 I think similar to what happened in the old republic itself. I mean Visiate is extremely similar to Palpatine. You also had Darth Marr who I think is what Vader would have been like if Sidious wasn't a sociopath but had a master like Bane himself. Darth Marr sought power for very similar reasons Anakin did. To protect those he cared about. In Marr's case, it was the Sith Empires citizens he cared for. It was interesting because he still followed the Sith way even when he accepted that the Force has a will of it's own like the Jedi, allowing him to return as a Force ghost. I'd say Anakin is a bit of a mix of Revan, Malgus and Marr. Malgus is of course his Vader persona, Marr is more what Anakin was in the clone wars and Revan of course was as close to who he's supposed to be as a Force being.

@@gamer24d I imagine it would be split, but functional. The Sith side still dabble in the Darkside but they are focused on teaching those with a connection to that side of the Force to control their violent urges while embracing their desires. The light side of them would still be acting the the Jedi we know, but they are also trained to help hold off the Darkside members should they turn too violent and trying to talk down potential conflicts. However, I would imagine a select few members can use both sides of the force and are trained in it, such as the Yoda of this hypothetical order, Revan and the Slaywalker bloodline as a few examples.

Only the Jedi Clone story was used in Gray Squadron. This will be good.

Just as a little addendum: When on Tatooine, a planet with barely even an outpost, just one Marauder, Palpatine found a boy, who he felt a strong connection to. Deciding to investigate further, he asked the boy's name. "Anakin" the boy said, and so Palpatine found his Padawan.

-What if Tenebre/Vitiate/Valkrion returned during the movies in the same vain of your Darth JarJar or Jedi Palpatine fics? -What if The Rule of Two was abolished after the Clone Wars? -What if the Sith Empire returned during the Galactic Civil War instead of the Clone Wars? -What if Vader lived at the end of RotJ, not redeemed and in charge of the Imperial Remnant? -What if Thrawn was a Republic General in the Clone Wars? -What if Thrawn was present during the Original Trilogy? -What if Anakin/Vader was a double agent and played the long game like your Rebel Thrawn fic? -What if Thrawn was a Jedi? -What if Vader,Thrawn and Several Imperials started an Imperial Rebellion separate from the Rebels,which really took off around the DS1 destruction thinking Palpatine was incompetent/Revenge and needed to reform the Empire? -What if Vader never burned on Mustafar? -What if Grevious was a Republic General but still hated the Jedi? -What if Starkiller lived at the end of TFU1 and later trained the Skywalker Twins? -What if Lord Starkiller lived at the end of TFU1 dark side ending and ignoring the dlc, basically replacing Vader?

Problem with this is you still see the top jedi being able to keep up and defeat sith in saber duels. Plaguis and Palpatine here should at least have top-tier saber abilities comparable to the top jedi
