I'd low-key fight for The CIS if it wasn't an elaborate Sith plot

They have extremely justified reasons. Although the legitimate grassroot faction was taken over by the Sith and the very corporations that colonized/exploited them in the first place. The very corporations that also have their own representatives in the senate and likely stifled attempts to amend the situation in order to prevent the regulation of Outer Rim trade.

Strategically they should have used both. Droids fulfilling the role conscripts used to. And then a highly elite and intelligent corp of volunteers for more aggressive and difficult operations as well as special forces missions like starting insurgencies behind enemy lines. Then having organic officers over formations bigger then a platoon would have definitely introduced more tactical flexibility and reduced predictability. Since after awhile the clones figured out that all droids think the same and therefore the same trick will work over and over and over again. Where as no two organic officers think the same and they’re harder to predict. Granted this would make it much harder for Grievous to commit war crimes as people who are actually fighting for the separatist cause would logically question orders that make them look worse then the republic. And they’re going to be very confused on why they’re going conquering planets that don’t bring the war closer to an end when the objective is separation and not conquest and they merely need to sieze coruscant and force the republic to recognize their government. All this will filter back to the home front and Dooku is going to lose support as the separatist organic population realized something’s seriously wrong. Hence why organic participation was kept to an absolute minimum.

An advantage of the Seps using Droids for Palpatine was that they could be deactivated en masse - as was the case when Anaking/Vader killed the remaining leaders on Mustafar and began deactivating the droid armies. No mop up operations, Palp's army is the last on the field and his control secured.

I actually wonder how willing the Jedi would have been willing to get involved in the Clone Wars if the droid army wasn't use. You mentioned before that during other civil wars they made a point of staying out. Why they chose differently this time was probably in large part to the fact that this was being led by a Sith lord and a former Jedi, making it feel to them like it was their responsibility to end it. But it probably helped that it was being back by this mega corps who I'm guessing many Jedi where not necessarily a fan of. Add on to that they were mostly killing droid, all that probably made it pretty easy to convince the Jedi that this was a righteous cause and ignoring the real grievances of these worlds. Might have been more difficult for them if they had to face a legitimate grass roots movement. This might actually have been bad for Palpatine, because not only would it lead to less Jedi getting killed but would have probably meant a lot of separatist sympathizers might have gained respect for them, because they showed sympathy for their plight. On the other hand, the Jedi were sworn to the republic at the time, so they might have felt a duty to still take part even if there was some reluctance, especially sene their was a sith lord leading it. What might have been interesting was if some Jedi, actually choose to just leve the order, like Asoka, becuase they felt it had lost its way, rather than turnign to the dark side. That actually could have been worse for Palaptine. More independent Jedi, means more trouble hunting them down, when the final order came in, not to mention maybe some of the defectors gaining more allies, if they decided to help out on their own, rather than through the restrictions of the order. They maybe could even set up their owner light side organizaiton, one that did not have the fundemental flaw of the Jedi, so might be harder to get rid of. Actually, if more Jedi just started having more kids that coudl be bad for Palpatine. Given what we know of the the Skyalker family, and Ren, it seems that at least to some degree for senstative can be inherited. If more Jedi repreduced, that could mean a lot more unaccounted for force users out their.

@wrenmiller4407
@wrenmiller4407 2 года назад
I didn’t read the books either, however there’s a few possible scenarios. 1. Count dooku was recruited into the order when he was older. Therefore he remembers his family. Also, his family was royalty and possibly pulled a lot of strings to get in touch with him 2. After become a renowned Jedi he was adopted by the royal family by doing something admirable 3. Dooku slayed the royal family/ the family was killed by other means, leaving a power vacuum Dooku filled. This also makes sense because after leaving the order he’d have to create a persona.

I guess Palpatine really created the no-win scenario for the Jedi. Judging from the fact in this video that if the Separatists Alliance use troops made of sentient beings, many within the Jedi Order will definitely either defect or even cause another Jedi Civil War in a middle of the Clones Wars. And I guess Palpatine can use this new Jedi Civil War to his advantage while those who left to join Count Dooku's cause will be branded as traitors by the Republic.

An interesting planetary campaign to see would be Loyalist Planetary/System Defense Forces with Clone support vs A Separatist militia backed by CIS Droids. It would have some interesting opportunities for story beats as there could be some friction on each side due to integrating different command structures and tactics. A PDF/SDF commander having to deal with an equal ranked Clone commander could cause some command and control problems while a Tactical Droid may find the unpredictable nature of the insurgents on its side to cause as many problems as it fixes.

I can just imagine the separatists’ messaging “We’re willing to fight and die for what we believe in, but the fat cats in the Republic would rather send in clones than fight for their ideals!” That would most likely stir up a lot of patriotism and inflame tensions to the point where they’d see a whole of volunteer soldiers. I wouldn’t go that far. Sure, a regular militia soldier might be able to put up a slightly better better fight than a B1, but there’s no way your run-of-the-mill meatbag is gonna be able to go toe-to-toe with a BX Commando Droid. On top of that, Super Tactical Droids like Kalani were designed and built bc the clones were usually too much for your regular Tactical Droids to handle.
@smc912

@@CJ-442 Yah like he said, because the regular tactical droids were too predictable. When the CIS introduced new droids that used different tactics to the fight, the clones would flounder.

They did have organic armies. Umbarra and the Quarren were just 2 examples of the many thousands of worlds with their own armies. But I'm pretty sure the navy, or shall i say Offensive attacks were done by the droid army. While the planets militias were like a second line of defense. In legends as well as cannon. After the rise of the empire many worlds refused to kneel so the military was called in to face mainly organic opponents since the droid army was shut down. Its the same for the republic. Clones were the most aggressive attacks during the war with republic soldiers and local planetary militias holding ground. and the republic only had 10-20 million of these clones so they probably enlisted a few billion soldiers.

Anakin would not have a problem with killing an innocent life if that innocent life have already killed thousands of other life of course this would only make people who are not fighting in the war see the Jedi as warmongers killing machines they heard stories that Jedi were supposed to be peacekeepers protectors of the Galaxy but here they are cutting down innocent life like it was paper and that's kind of what happened toward the end of the clone wars people were realizing that the Jedi are not what they once were.

What if the Separatists overthrew Kamino's governemnt and stole the clone cration process after Phantom Menace. If the separatists are the ones with a clone army. What military force could the Republic use. Arm their billions of poor aimless citizens and drop them on a battlefield, opening up to a potential revolution?

Think many the Kaminoans woulda rather died an destroyed their own facilities then allow the CIS to forcibly seize their whole lives on top of their life's works and purpose. If I remember right they chose to side with the Republic not just that the Republic paid them a ton for it's forces. Don't think the whole CIS can afford it's massive fleet and Army.. which it's expensive AF on one planet let alone one spanning a huge galaxy like Star Wars BUT then to buy off basically your enemy's source of manpower.. wouldn't probably be worth the effort. An the Outer Rim wasn't known for being particularly wealthy

If they had fielded more people this could have worked in their favour by giving the confederation a face. This could then have created more sympathy in the core region and more instability in the Republic.

A positive for the Jedi in fighting human separatists would have better chances of having peaceful resolutions or scaring them of fighting against wizard monk with laser swords. To be honest I never like the clones army can you do a what if of the Republic having to enlist a human army against the droid army. This would be like the stromtrooper of OG trilogy vs the droid army.
