In HOI, having more land doesn't mean that you're stronger, necessarily. Having that land necessitates policing that land, which requires manpower and equipment, and it also requires defending that land. So, while the Soviets had more factories and resources, they didn't have the concentration of force necessary to hold the eastern front, or the Anatolian front, and so lost. If they had had another ten years to core the territory, and/or mass enough equipment to defend all of their land as well as they could have, then they would have steamrolled easily, like one would expect.

@@taliesin7913 Saudi Arabia is still Saudi Arabia, so Is Iraq and Iran and all countries in the Middle East. The annexation of those countries realistically should hardly make any difference in their military rank, In a sense the Soviet Union is gaining Allie’s. The player likely played as A Soviet Union with larger land mass but no increase of military size.
