I think the 2013 Championship is very significant for LeBron, almost on par with the 2016 chip. If Ray Allen doesn't hit that 3 and TimmyD went 6-0, you'd have to put Duncan over Lebron on the GOAT list because not only # of rings (6>3), Duncan will be seen as LeBron's Kryptonite since he would've won all 3 meetings in the final
Not to discredit, but lebron helped them get into a situation where it was close, plus ray allen was scoreless in game 7. Ik that is ray didnt hit that shot then his legacy will be kinda ruined but lebron showed up way more than ray allen. I agree with ur Tim Duncan > Lebron if they dont win those finals though
If popivich didn't sub Tim out he would be talked about liked this also quick reminder that if doc rivers allowed Tim Duncan's wife on the game planes and rooms
Idk about Timmy being above lebron in goat ranking even with the perfect finals record I Timmy lacks the stats and the cultural impact to rise above his position here’s my ranking 1.MJ 2.LBJ 3. KAJ 1-3 interchangeable 4. Wilt 5. Bill 6. Bird 7. Magic 4-7 interchangeable 8. Tim Ducan 9. Kobe 10. Shaq 8-10 interchangeable 11. Steph 12. Hakeem 13. KD All 3 of these guys have asterisks that remove em from top 10 but Steph and KD still active they can break through to the top
If Kevin Durant hadn't moved to the Warriors, LeBron might have won a few championships with the Cavaliers. Many star players have been expected to be the next Jordan in their youth, including Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, and the younger generation Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade. But no other player has been compared to Michael Jordan as harshly as LeBron James throughout his career.
It is because of his actions when u come to the league and write chosen one at ur back and declare u are the greatest which even mj doesn’t do then such comparision is going to come from the media harsely.
@@randikochaakthe media called himself that. Lebron just said he believes he’s the GOAT. Kobe has said that he believes he’s the GOAT and MJ has strongly implied that. Lebron has a stronger GOAT case then Kobe, but no one criticizes him for saying he’s the GOAT, I wonder why.
@d3va383 kobe 9 out of 10 times is humble about it. Says he's not in a league with Jordan, says he's not a goat, says he's not top 5, says others are better. Lebron 9 times out 10 runs with he's the goat narrative.
Lebron would gain the most and lose the most in this scenario. 10-0 with at least 9 finals mvps (wade was better in the finals in 2011) makes him the undisputed GOAT while losing his 2016 ring or 1 for 4 with Miami drops him probably out of the top 5
Totally agree. Except I think Bron falls to KD levels of disrespect. If he loses that much. He is just a ring chaser creating failed super teams. In a weak conference, he just got lucky 1 time.
only thing about this is every other player was close to going undefeated except for Lebron which makes his scenario wayyy less possible then Currys cuz he could realistically have 6 rings Lebron has no scenario is undefeated
The only way the Heat win the 2011 Finals if LeBron balls out, which automatically gives LeBron the FMVP because a hypothetically good performance LeBron is 99% certain to preform better than Wade
Let, me break it down. Jerry west wins 10 rings I don't know if that makes him the goat. But, one thing for sure. Is, that he would probably be the best point guard ever. Bill russell, only gets 4 rings. While, he would still be a top 10 center of all time. He, wouldn't be as big of an icon. He, dosent get his wouldn't have the finals MVP named after him. Which, would likely be Jerry West. Likely, wouldn't have gotten his Jersey retired after his death. Also, the celtics wouldn't have had there dynasty. Would, not be the historical franchise they ate today. Also, Wilt would end up with 5 rings, would be in the debate for the greatest center of all-time. There, you have it. What do you think
I think a few greats that would've benefitted tremendously with a perfect finals record is Wes Unseld, Dennis Johnson and most importantly, Dr. J and Wilt.
Jerry west going undefeated in the finals would rocket him from his current top 25ish all time status to probably top 5 so I think he'd have the most to gain at least out of anyone with at least 1 ring.
The thing about this is, if LeBron in Miami won 4 straight, do you think he would go back to Cleveland or stay in Miami to try and win more? It really felt he ditched the Heat because he thought their window closed due to Wade's injuries & decline.
Greatest winner in NBA history: Bill Russell Greatest career in NBA history: LeBron James Greatest shooter in NBA history: Steph Curry Greatest defender in NBA history: Hakeem Olajuwon Greatest scorer in NBA history: MJ Greatest two way player in NBA history: MJ Most dominant NBA player: Shaq The most versatile NBA player: LeBron Most unstoppable shot: Kareem skyhook Most statistically dominant: Wilt GOAT: MJ Top 10: 1. MJ 2. LeBron 3. Kareem 4. Magic 5. Tim Duncan 6. Shaq 7. Kobe 8. Bird 9. Bill Russell 10. Steph Curry
It's not even a question.....in these hypothetical situations, clearly, LeBron would benefit the most. 10-0 with an 8peat, and most likely 8-10 finals MVPS....that scenario would make him the undisputed GOAT of basketball, and possibly of professional American sports....10-0 NBA champ vs 7-3 Tom Brady, vs 7 WS titles for Babe Ruth, Wayne Gretzky with 4 Stanley Cups.....a case could be made
I hate KD for joining an already stacked warriors team, he could've done his rings with OKC but he just had to join 4 future HOF just to beat LeBron. If Lebron won 2 of those rings + a ring with the dallas, he'd be totally the no-brainer GOAT.
When he said the timmy rebound away or sub i felt it, as a big wade fan and liked the style of shooters like allen, and still my mind could not understand why tim was sat down for that play
@@beefpares810 so you are telling there is someone in this video who won a ring without another strong teammate on his team? At least Pippen was drafted AND he was far from being great at the beginning of his career.
@@kolovikon2118 SO YOU'RE TELLING ME IT'S NOT A FACT THAT MJ DIDN'T WENT TO THE FINALS WITHOUT PIPPEN? THE FACT THAT MJ ALWAYS GOT SEND HOME ON 1ST OR 2ND ROUND? EVEN POST CHICAGO MJ. HE COULDN'T WIN SHIT
I think if Duncan would go 6-0 he would be easily top 5 player maybe even top 3 all time. He would beat Lebron 3 time which would be the great argument against Lebron who is second greatest player off all time, so i think he would be number 2. Also we need Larry Bird, Kareem, Jerry west and Hakeems episode
@@xArkseyx No i don't think so. I think Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Kareem are still better. But I respect if someone say he is top 5 because he is so underrated 2 way player and have winner mentality
I hate that people underrate bill Russel. 11-1 should have him in the goat debate IMO and 12-0 with a decade-peat would seal the discussion to me. If the point is to win, why not call the winningest player ever by a large margin the GOAT? It's the opposite phenomenon that happens between McHale and Horry. Both were role players but Horry has more rings. Why is McHale a top 75 player but Horry isn't? NBA discussions are strange
Russel's rings are such a hard debate because he played when there were only 8 teams in the league. If you were on the best team, you didn't have to fight through quality competition to get to the finals, and even in the finals, you might not be playing a team that's all that great. He is a great, for sure, but he is absolutely the poster of "Rings don't mean everything," and why he's constantly out of top-10 all-time debates.
Jimmy butler, 8th seed finals people will say jokic is a playoff choker and lebrom will only get 3 rings which is less than curry making him the 2nd best in his own era
Sorry, but this is a dumb discussion. Succeeding in the playoffs IS part of your legacy! Asking “what if” is odd. These players all had their chances and didn’t win when the opportunity came. If you can’t perform in the playoffs, that is a reflection of you as a player. There are too many rabbit holes here.
if that was the case with curry only getting the 1 ring he would still be above dame because he went to the finals all those years prior to finally winning 1
What separates Lillard and Curry is NOT just a trophy case, this has been proven multiple times when they faced off in the playoffs… Curry is better by far and I’m a heat fan. I want Lillard badly, but they’re not close. That was a false narrative people we’re trying to create
It’s hard to watch your videos man when you’re always throwing subs at players like Bron. Mickey Mouse ring and Baby thunder really? Do u watch the league man? That thunder team was READY. They were favorites and all. People keep trying to rewrite history though. And that 2020 ring was the hardest ring of all time after the 1995 rockets and MAYBE 2011 Mavs
If LeBron was undefeated he’d be the goat and d-wade would be 4th to bron, Kobe, and mj If kd was undefeated he’d be the goat and Steph would be 3rd to kd and Kobe, Russ would be top 10 If Steph was undefeated he’d be second to Kobe, kd would be 4th, and LeBron would be 6th If Magic was undefeated he’d be the goat and Kareem would be 2nd. The top 3 would all be lakers. If Shaq was undefeated he’d be second to Kobe who would be even better. If Kobe was undefeated nothing would change in the goat race If Tim Duncan was undefeated he’d be better than LeBron, and maybe top 3 If bill Russell was undefeated his legacy would’nt change If mj was undefeated he’d still be second to kobe
