This was the saddest episode, imagine, seeing how the world is changing slowly, living until it dies, everything dissapears, everything you once knew. In the last moments of solar system, planet earths, you see it all get destroyed while you get thrown into space, slowly drifting away, remembering everything while you are still drifting in to the unknown for unknown amount of time.

Quite honestly, I would take an extended lifespan of an extra 200 to 300 years over complete immortality. Being immortal would be complete hell, considering you would not only outlive everyone you care about, but be unable to die in a changing world you would be unable to adapt to. At least with an extra few hundred years, you can live in a world somewhat like the one you currently live in and could make some friends over time you could grow old with once you are at the last few decades of your life.

In who knows how long, the universe will eventually end, everything will never change again, all is just a dark night, without a sound, without a feeling. You will last forever, but the universe doesn't. The eternal will lasts until a certain point you gradually lose your mind. But sadly, immortality will pull your mind back to its normal state. You can only fall into a deep sleep, where you dream of memories that existed billions of billions of years ago. You gradually forget it was all just a dream and you think you're alive, but then when you die in that dream, you're pulled back into the eternal black space. Desperate, heartbroken and regretful, you realize that everything was just a burning memory, you just want to go back to that sleep and sleep forever, praying for another Bigbang to happen.

This is literally my dream. I know I'll be alone and probably depressed beyond comprehension, however, I can't explain how much I want to see the evolution of humanity, it's downfall, the planet in 5000 years and all the cataclysmic events like the sun exploding and galaxies crashing into one another. I don't want immortality to live forever or because I'm afraid of death. I simply want the front row seat to everything that will ever happen.

I've weighed the options for years, after reading numerous books, seeing countless shows, etc, about the concept of true immortality. To virtually nearly everything and everyone, immortality would be hell. Worst case scenario, you drift in space for eons until the Big Bang happens again, and possibly survive even that, continuing to drift until some eventual eon, you do land on some kind of surface again. Best case scenario, you didn't waste your time, and acquired some sort of device or ability to either travel time or travel space in, significantly lessening your helpless purgatory torture. I personally believe it would still be better than dying, assuming someone does manage to prove there really is no afterlife out there. If afterlife is guaranteed, then it's probably not worth the gamble. Either way, you're still technically eternal with an afterlife, but much less bored in a realm with content to entertain or distract you from time passing.

I’ve always thought about how if you were immortal, that everything new would be completely foreign to you. You’re in a new world essentially, nothing you loved or cared about is going to be around 150 years from now except you. Friends, family, possessions, industries, all gone without a trace. That’s just how I’d view it anyway
