I love how the ants came. It was such a perfect example of how nature works. The flytrap "killed" the bean, left some behind, and the ants came to scavenge the excess. And there is still more going on that you can't see with the bacteria & parasites that use the ant to get nutrients. Also, don't forget the pesky human, running one of his "experiments," who had the capability to manually trigger this cascade of nature.
@@BenjaminGoose I’m with you. Not something said in my circles at least in my country. It’s hilarious how some are mocking you for not knowing slang that is common to where they live. 🤷🏻♀️
Three days after eating the cinnamon jellybean, VF came down with Jellybelemia. Jellybel meaning "Jelly Belly Jelly Beans", Emia meaning "presence in blood".
My friend fed weed to my flytrap. 1 hour later, we were out of doritos, the flytrap took up the whole couch and wouldnt let us change the channel. Not a reccommend.
Hey, I just wanted to let you know that Jesus Christ loves you - He always has and always will, no matter what. You are precious and you matter! God bless.
Millions of tons of ordinary produce are already fertilized with bonemeal, bloodmeal or fishing industry byproducts. In organic farming it is very common to grow crops using animal products so none of it is really vegetarian. How can celery be vegan if its grown in manure? Gives me a chuckle
It's more about intellect, so the fact it can "count" would probably be more of an indicator of what they'd have issue with. Fun fact: Human Breast Milk and Semen can technically be vegan if consent is given by the one producing it. Human meat could too, and cannibalism is technically not illegal. It's just the normal methods of acquiring the meat that are. Should the person losing the meat (injury, death, etc) provide consent by wiling it to you, selling, or gifting it, you can legally enjoy some long-pork.
@@CreamCobblerFiend Yeah, I also am pretty sure animal kingdom does not ask consent to the prey to be killed in brutal ways. Edit: That as: a lot of animals do kill in painful ways and wolves (and others carnivorous animals) have shown to kill more then needed, leaving carcasses to rot.
Venus flytrap: "huh...this is pretty tast- WHAT IS THIS FIRE?! IM BURNING UP AND ALL HOT." Dude: "Haha, look at all that slobber. It must love the bean!"
I actually had this question in my mind when i was 8, i always wondered what would happen if you feed carnivorus plants (like the one in the video) candy, like "will it get used to it and not eat bugs anymore??" That kind of questions
I can answer this, and the video bothers me in a way I can't describe because of it. Carnivorous plants like the flytrap will lose a trap when it eats anything other than insects or - and this is probably not as true, so take this with a grain of salt - small prey like frogs. The trap he put the candy into is going to rot away, starting from the tip and turning black all the way down to the rhizome of the trap. Sadly, that big, beautiful trap is going to die for his experiment. On the bright side I really hope people are smarter than to feed their predatory plants a piece of candy for glucose, something they make through photosynthesis rather than absorbing from prey.
no taste buds that I am aware of. Even if they did, theres no brain to process the stimulation. And even if it somehow could do both those things without a brain,... it still would lack any means by which to care, other than what its naturally reacting to by instinct/design. So.... we should enter it into a spicy food eating contest.
I would like to know how the ants could find the jelly bean drool when that ledge would be clear of ants normally... it gave me shivers thinking of that many ants in a house.
Stick a sealed but opened bottle of honey next to your windowsill, like above/next to your kitchen sink (depending on your set up). The next day you'll find ants inside the container lol I've seen it happen numerous times in a couple different houses. Growing up my parents would put theirs in that location and I was like "uh, you know there's a bunch of ants in here right?" and they were like "eh it's fine" lmfao we were also pretty poor tho 👀🤣 But seriously I've seen it a few times, really wild how they can not only get into your house but into a closed bottle of honey lol the side of the bottle wasn't even sticky 😂 I should also clarify I'm from Florida aka a swamp so we got a lot of bugs out here lol
I remember looking up where venus fly traps come from and being surprised to learn they came from north and south carolina. I had always figured they came from some tropical jungle or something lol
I always wondered how venus flytraps evolved that way to catch bugs... What information could they possibly have in the past to know there were bugs flying around.
I had a couple fly traps growing up. I used to catch bugs in my garden just to hand feed it because I liked watching the traps close. I went overboard and put a bug in every single trap and the whole plant turned black and died days later. I learned that they use up a lot of energy when they close their traps, so excessive triggering of the traps can cause it to die. They really only need soggy soil and a fly or two a month to thrive 🥲
Nope. It would much prefer normal insects, those are more likely to have the nutrients the plants „needs“. Candy will probably just make it weaker and weaker in the long run, since it doesn’t need extra glucose teally
A week ago I put 2 pounds of beans in my crockpot with no salt add beef broth and about 8 of the beans sprouted after 5 hours. Today I am doing an experiment with seeds. Half get water half get no salt add beef broth. I'm testing beans, okra, tomato seeds, squash, and seeds of the sensitive plant ( momosa pudica). I'm excited to see how it turns out.
Just to help with the ant problem mix glue and honey together (I suggest some kind of clear glue) and put the mixture out in a small cup so when the ants come to drink/eat the honey they'll get stuck and eventually die-
I just give mine a couple of drops of water soluble fertilizer. The traps look very nice after they open. Your plant needs a bit more light to look it’s best, but you are good at keeping the slime off the sphagnum. If you have a larger window you can also get a telegraph plant. They are constantly moving. They move their leaves to deal with the wind direction, rain, and night.
@@banan9432 Evolution isn’t something that sets in when the need arises. It’s random, and depending on the circumstances selective pressure can make random mutations more likely to arise. Now those mutations have to be in any way advantageous and then also successfully get passed on as a Gene to the next generation. There is no direct goal or will behind it.
@@sora3970 bad joke... So anyway if I understand what you want well you can buy it from green protector they have typical fly trap and fly trap fruits and take from carnivorous their food.
