I like investing in close-end funds that pay monthly dividends. The trick is to hold long term and reinvest the monthly dividends plus buy more shares on a monthly basis or when ever you can afford to. This can be easily done because close-end funds are bought and sold on the stock market just like regular stock. That’d be enough to create a portfolio that would pay you between $50k to $70k in dividend income

Just because there are opportunities in the market doesn’t mean you should go in blindly. To understand the potential factors that contribute to your financial growth, I'll advise you to seek the help of a professional

I completely agree; I am 60 years old, recently retired, and have approximately $1,250,000 in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, having a portfolio-advisor for investing is genius!

Buying silver and gold is easy, but it is renowned for stability during economic hard times like this. The main problem is investing in stocks, dividends and even cryptocurrencies to grow your portfolio.... I’ve been trying to grow my portfolio of $190K for some time now, my major challenge is not knowing the best entry and exit strategies ... I would greatly appreciate any suggestions

Just try to diversify your portfolio to other market sectors, that way your portfolio is balanced and you don’t get to make so much losses. Also engage the services of a financial advisor to walk you through

Right, I delegate my day-to-day investing to an advisor ever since suffering a major steep-down late 2019, amid rona-outbreak, and as of today, I'm semi-retired with barely 25% short of my $1m retirement goal after subsequent investments.

When picking stocks my only advice is you buy a good cross-section of an economy and you should do well over the long term. The market will be high in 10 to 20 years, and significantly higher in 30. It's almost impossible for a company with no debt to go bankrupt. Canada is about 3% of the global marketplace, the U.S. is about 50%, and the remainder of the globe is 47%. Pay yourself first. It's time in the market, not timing the market. I stay on top of the market with my FA Anna Rounds Fay. Bulls and bears make money, but pigs get slaughtered. - some wise words

Thank you, this was definitely worth the read, as an Investors may avoid making decisions out of fear of regret. This can lead to inertia, where individuals hold onto cash rather than invest, fearing they will make a wrong decision.

I sold off all my jepi as the taxes in my opinion didn’t make it worth the investment. Being a non qualified dividend just wasn’t worth it to me. It’s a great stock if monthly income is what you need but I decided to switch my investments to all qualified dividends so taxes don’t eat my profits.

Investing in alternative income streams that are independent of the government should be the top priority for everyone right now. especially given the global economic crisis we are currently experiencing. Stocks, gold, silver, and virtual currencies are still attractive investments at the moment.

It is recommended to seek the assistance of a financial advisor or broker to diversify your investment portfolio through the inclusion of commodities, inflation-indexed bonds, and stocks of financially stable companies, rather than relying solely on growth stocks with uncertain future earnings.

Such market uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my market judgements and decisions on rumours and here-says, got the best of me 2020 and had me holding worthless position in the market, I had to revamp my entire portfolio through the aid of an advisor, before I started seeing any significant results happens in my portfolio, been using the same advisor and I’ve scaled up 950k within a year, whether a bullish or down market, both makes for good profit, it all depends on where you’re looking.

20 yrs is a hell of a long time. How many 30 year olds will invest 100K in anything, let alone JEPI. No doubt its a good fund, but for an older person getting ready to retire and earn income off of their 401K, JEPI might not be the answer.

This is always the problem. They told these ETF's (Jepi/Schd) like they are the "Holy grail", but it takes 20-30 years for you to even see a dividend return that you can possibly live off of. You need to pump an insane amount of money into these things to receive a decent livable dividend. Growth Stocks and ETF's will always beat dividend ETF's. It would be better to grow your investments through growth stocks/ETF/Funds, and then take a large sum of that money and place in a divi ETF, only AFTER you've grown it to a large sum of money. And as you said, how many 30's have 100k to invest in this ETF? If you are fortunate enough to have that much at that age you want growth not a dividend you have to wait 20-30 years before it can even help you.

Negative mindset like this won’t get you anywhere in life let alone investing for your future. I started with a $20k job in 1989, invested in a 401k .. rest as they say humbly is history. Have a plan stick too it, stay positive vs a defeatist post and you may surprise yourself.. I sure did.

Yeah, but for the following years, you also have to grow the dividend by the dividend growth rate percentage each year. And that's the so-called compounding effect in long-term investment.

@@Johnsmoneyadventures I still didn't get the $236,757 in 10 years. I only got $144,227 as follows: 100 * (1.03)^10 + (100 * 5%) * (1.07)^10

@@FinancesOnBitcoin if not then the gains are inflated...high fees of managed funds can seriously erode gains over 20-30 years. Would have at least liked to see an estimate adjusted for the fees since they are much higher than the .03-.06% fees on unmanaged ETFs:

Interesting how Black Rock is advising clients a 84.9% allocation into Bitcoin with 10% in stocks and 5% in bonds….maybe we don’t need to buy certain stocks that bitcoin can outperform. Bitcoin has been the best preforming asset 8 of the last 11 years(3 of those years are predicted bear markets). Everytime it retraces after the bull run it ALWAYS pumps way harder the following years. It’s the safest bet to preserve wealth, although those uneducated in Bitcoin would disagree. It’s like shitting on the internet in 94’ you look dumb now 😂 buy bitcoin, keep buying bitcoin, and never sell bitcoin unless for an emergency, college, life event. Thank me later…
