It's only a test and it was stated to be on a first come first served basis. I don't think we players should feel entitled to a test just because we are dedicated fans. It's not like it's a reward like a game. That being said, the Japanese way of handling it was better, through a raffle, which is how they always do in Japan (same with the museum for example but even outside of Nintendo).That's a cultural thing however.

We'll aside from Metroid Prime 4 I'm not expecting any brand new Metroid games anytime soon, the only Metroid things other then Prime 4 that I'm hoping for anytime soon is either a HD Remaster of Metroid Prime 2 Echoes and/or a HD port of Metroid Samus Returns with Fusion mode and all the other Amiibo blocked content unlockable without the need for Amiibos.

I have a feeling that everyone is overestimating what this could be. My opinion is that they are upgrading the service. In my opinion I think that’s all it is and they wanted to test it. It would make sense that very few people could get in if they are testing for a smaller system while they make sure its works and then if they know it works then they can scale up. I promise soon after this NSO will be down for a weekend. That’s all that makes sense to me.

If the Switch 2 leaks were real Nintendo would've taken them down

The fact they are adding a new feature to switch online for the base switch i think means the switch 2 is probably not coming out for at least another year because why bother updating your current console with a new feature if its gonna be replaced in 6 months time

You know for this Online test thing I thought it would be like that they're testing out for GameCube being on NSO and then we would have games like Mario Party 4, 5, 6, and 7, Mario Kart Double Dash, Luigi's Mansion, Star Fox Assault, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Super Mario Strikers, and Kirby Air Ride but I just hope we can finally get a Nintendo Direct because I really hope we do get one before it's time for Switch 2.

That’s crazy that no one was able to get in - I refreshed the registration page on the hour when it went live, expecting to be put in a waiting list, but no, I was just asked to accept the application terms and conditions and then was told I had been selected. No email confirmation or anything, just ‘Please come back around 10/21 for more info’ - could be since my account is European/UK.

I was able to get in but I didn't immediately click like everyone else. It is possible that they had other hidden parameters that they didn't list. I don't think this is anything too exciting but I suppose we'll find out in a few days.

As lucky as I am to be Selected for the Playtest, I honestly think it was unfair to everyone. To have the best chance of selection, you needed to have the link already opened and prepared the night before, then as soon as the right time rolled around, press the button and submit the agreement. What's weirder is the fact that Japan is doing it differently, where they're raffling off applicants to see who joins, while the rest of the world is racing for a spot. Because of this, I also feel a bit guilty.

As usual, you are exaggerating here. Nintendo didn't close subscriptions fast, they just wanted 10K playtesters and no more and you just were too slow, 10K people managed to enter faster than you, that happens. Also, makes sense that they would limit themselves with only 10K playtesters, that is a good amount of testers and is simple to control, preventing any leaks from happening.

I REALLY HOPE Nintendo is playtesting the Nintendo Switch 2 NSO 2.0 where I would LOVE to see Gamecube, Wii, DS and 3DS, but first for NSO I HOPE DK 64 & Diddy Kong Racing 64 to N64 library and old Pokémon games Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, Fire Red, Leaf Green, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald for Gameboy libraries that would be so AWESOME, but too RISKY to hope! But why old Pokémon games aren't in NSO like in N64 there is Pokémon Snap and Stadium 1&2? Gotta CATCH them ALL Pokémon! 😢❤

It can’t be all the apps because it’s expansion pass only it could be GameCube and only have 1 or two roms be 2 gigs test out internet be for expansion pass could be in for holiday season and they would show it before it gets tested (upcoming few days) and would need to be tested because of GameCube being harder to emulate maybe they could even have a bundle where they have a GameCube style switch with a year of expansion pass switch online and also at the beginning of the year there where reports of a proboble switch GameCube switch online controller Sorry for yapping😅 Edit if you do see this please respond if you think these are true
