We’ve had Starlink for 18 months. Bought it in Mexico, used it all over the US, Central America and now in the Andes of South America. Anyone who tells me they like to be disconnected I ask if they have internet at home. My Promaster is my home, right now at 9200 feet in Carhuaz Peru. The service is amazing.

I knew I spotted your rig in revelstoke over the weekend. Looking forward to seeing what it's like to camp around there, as our trip was a car+hotels trip.

Not full time but the Starlink allows us to camp through the summer and still work. 😢. We have 300ah lifepo4 with 200 solar and we go for a couple weeks easy with everything running. Waiting for the next vid Kevin. 👍

We just use Wavemax when out boondocking with no service. We usually get quite a few channels of hdtv. We like being disconnected. But every other day or so or once a week we are in a place to get Wi-Fi. We may eat in town and catch up on email etc. we don’t have a RU-vid channel though.

Awesome video. Great discussion on internet connection! I know that Star Link has just upgraded their service. Also, there is a faster connection. Great talking points. Just subscribed . Good luck with your adventures. Thanks for sharing Rick Chisholm ( Rick From Virginia)

Great video Kevin. I full time and have Starlink. In Ontario it's $190. It's also a bit of a power drain, about 70 watts when using it. Under full sun it can keep up but obviously in the winter in Canada that means more genny time. Keep up the good work brother!
@KevinWaldsAdventures
@KevinWaldsAdventures Месяц назад
Ahhhh yes my power system won’t mind it too much and come winter I’m usually unable to get super remote cause of the snow

You have one choice STARLINK. Non of Canadian cell plans will give you good coverage. If you in town yeah you can use carriers coverage. But if you in the bush you need Starlink. 🛠️🇨🇦🛠️🇨🇦

I have followed Kenny for a couple years now. I plan on buying a Host Yukon 11.6 truck camper and traveling the North American continent. See Tuktoyuktuk on the NW territories, do the Canadian Maritimes, New Foundland and Labrador. Do the TransCanadian Hwy. visit the Bella Coola Valley and go down the steepest road on the North American continent at 18% grade. In the winter see Baja California, go all the way to Cabo San Lucas an visit the Cabo Wabo bar Sammy Hagar owns. And everything in between. I want to see as much as a I can, for as long as I can get up into my truck camper. I hope that is well into my 80’s.

I agree with you in the video. I never factored in fuel $$ to travel for service but that should be considered! Starlink is amazing for working remote & staying remote. I've worked remotely before 4g/LTE and a booster actually helped then (before we streamed everything). I have never seen a booster help for significant data speeds. I see phone quality increase, and slightly extend the range. I have starlink and love it.

I have Starlink, used it when I was working on an island, south of Dryden on Eagle Lake, Ontario. The service was great. On the roam plan, if you have it on the roof you can use it on trails going slow.

@@KevinWaldsAdventures I appreciate your honest, down to earth videos. I miss the mountains of Alberta and BC and getting to see them in your videos makes me miss them even more 😀 but I'll be back when I retire and probably in my truck camper. Smile and Cruise! Keep the honest videos coming.

Thanks for the video and your considerations! I'm using a HomeFi router (cellular-based), and it has some features that allow it to find strong signal from remote locations. It's been efficient for me so far!

We ordered one just yesterday for the same reason! We were out at Abraham Lake for the week and just couldn't get a whole lot done on the 1 bar of LTE. So we bit the bullet and it'll be here next week.

What phone company do u have your plan with? Good price for 150G actually. When did u get the plan? Good thing u weren't up calgary north, mon night hail destroyed all of my campers roof cover shrouds, including the sunroof over the bed, what a nightmare, these last 48hrs have been for me, then next morning discovered it blew out my rear window on my car too 😢. The RV damage I 100% blame it on RAM manufacturing, ive been stuck waiting for a ABS module for 10 months now! I wouldn't be here like a sitting duck waiting to be pulverized by shit weather otherwise! All i can say is don't buy a bloody ram! Manufacturer can't get their shit together to make parts n leave you stranded. 🤬. 🍻
@KevinWaldsAdventures

I’m with bell, was with Telus but they wouldn’t give me a deal at all, was worth it to switch, I think Telus might offer more now for same price lol ohhh no I heard you guys got a massive storm over there! Sorry about your camper and I can’t agree more about ram, all our newer trucks were always waiting for simple trucks were waiting for parts to come in.

Your not as much of an introvert as I am. I have to go and be by myself for several hours away from my wife. I guess most men do after 35 yrs but I digress. I did after 2 months. I will get drained with any human contact. We don’t have kids Thank God. They would’ve killed me. Solitude is what I enjoy. I am the modern Grizzly Adams, but I just showed my age. I will be 58.
