My hometown Freeport just across the bridge . I grew up there and enjoyed it my whole life , spent countless days at Grayton beach and western lake playing and fishing . It was the best life I could have ever dreamed of .
You guys have always produced beautiful and videos of your trips. This is another one of your best. I'm a 65 year old widower from the Texas Gulf Coast but I am going to explore the 30A corridor. Beautiful!! Thanks again for revealing another one of your favorite destinations to us.
Now you have to do a video on why you shouldn’t visit 30A, just like you did for the Tetons! All this positive press on the area is why we have to leave home in the summer, to visit places like The Tetons, and YNP (where we left this morning).
Thanks for explaining the 30A sticker. Have lived in Pensacola FL since 1980 and worked on many vehicles with this sticker and never knew what it meant.
I highly highly recommend renting a pontoon boat and going to the nature preserve that is part of Tyndall Air Force base shell island. It is amazingly beautiful beaches and the times I have been there in the summer August has been basically deserted.
From the title, I thought, we were in for a short course in electricity (30 Amp service); so pleased I stayed for the course! Looks like a very pretty area; loved the sunsets! Why are desert and ocean sunsets the best? Y'all Be Safe! Oh, by the way, loved the pics of the lovely wild canine!
Another great video. The drone shots are wonderful... it’s fun seeing your trailer from above! But... how does this drone know it’s you guys down there? and more important how do you get it to come back down?
I am driving the truck/camper, and Sean is flying the drone. He also has a screen on the controls so that he can see exactly what the drone camera is recording, thus he can follow our rig wherever we go.
Thank you Sean and Christie! We love your videos! My wife has always been interested in the Seaside area, and thanks to this wonderful video I learned about the 2 State Parks in close proximity. I just made reservations for next May at Topsail Hill. You can't beat Florida State Parks! We bought our 32 foot motorhome last November and have taken 7 or 8 trips already around the state of Florida. (We live near Deland.) I have learned a lot of valuable info from your videos. They are among the most professional, informative, and entertaining on RU-vid. We are taking our first long trip this Summer, about 6 weeks, to Maine and back. Hope to see you on the road someday. LoLoHo!
That certainly is a beautiful area along the Gulf Coast. However, fifty years ago it was very quiet and quaint with the small beach cottages and mom and pop motels. At least they have had the sense not to allow the construction of hideous high rise condominiums that have destroyed Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama.
Actually I think you misidentified that member of the canis family as chihuahua horribilis. I'm pretty sure it was an example of much more common chihuahua lick-you-to-deathis, but I could be wrong they are striking similar in physical traits. Other than that slight slip-up a great video. Keep up the good work guys. P.S. Sean the shots of the good looking blonds besides Kristi may be hazardous to your sleeping arrangements, hope that dinette is comfortable!
What part of Alabama and Florida are you from? I am from Crestview florida which we often refer to as LA or lower Alabama because we are only 20 miles from the florida/bama line.
Your beautiful wildlife photography makes me want to go there, but do I need to carry bear spray, or a bazooka, in case I run into one of those Chihuahuas Horribilis.
I visited Top Sail just a few weeks ago! They get booked up most of the time. I think we lucked out as someone had canceled! Beautiful beach but the double red flags were out and the emerald waters had quite a bit of seaweed due to a storm in the Gulf. Rained just about everyday during our visit but still enjoyed! Wish we could have met you guys!
We went on 30a today. RoseMary SeaBreeze Alys beach towns beautiful area zero none nada all private beach no NO public access.. they were glad to take our money but don't go on our beaches millions of bicyclers no where to park even small 25foot rv more like drive by view thanks for all your videos ..Camping our way across the USA .. Happy St.Pattys Day..and Happy Birthday Rick..Moab forever greetings from NC
Hey guys great vid. The issue for me is getting space at either of the state parks along 30A. At some point we will do Grayton or Topsail. In the meantime we go to Navarre, nestled between Ft. Walton and Pensacola. The Gulf Islands National Seashore between Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach is 7+ miles of unspoiled protected wildlife preserve and the beaches are AMAZING, every bit as good as 30A but even less crowded. There are 3 really nice RV parks right on 98 on Santa Rosa Sound. You should check them out.
Thanks for the video! I live here and have for 40 years. It is awesome there but I have better “secret places” I love more then 30A in SRB. There is another part of 30A that is west of there and a whole lot better. Thanks for the advertising lol. I have a farm just north of there you can stay next time y’all come through....15 acres and two stocked ponds..js
if any RV'ers are in grand junction, co and you need warranty work on your keystone you need to have deep pockets because the keystone dealer will only warranty things bought from them Humphrey RV will only warranty RV's bought from them
My wife and I are vacationing in our RV in Navarre this week. Absolutely love this Gulf Coast from Gulf Shores AL to Panama City Beach FL it's just amazing. 30A is definitely a highlight!!
We have long been a fan of 30A, it really was once a very quaint area and away from the hustle and bustle of bigger beach towns. Although it is getting a lot busier with lots of construction it is still one of our favorite areas and the beaches are wonderful. Am torn about thanking you for your video which was great but then again, you have let the cat out of the bag, Well not really that cat have been out along time. Always enjoy your videos, like seeing friends again and catching up on their travels.
My family has been visiting 30A for over 30 years. The growth of this area is unbelievable. Much nicer before the all the building, but we keep going back because we love it.
first time I went to topsail hill it was free, a long walk to the beach but well worth it, it was a midweek afternoon and the only people on the beach were two local young ladies tanning. then along came a hippie riding in the hard sand on a bicycle, he had the bike loaded, was struggling with it and said he was going to get to Destin before dark. I was only there to take pictures. I hope he made it.
Love your vids! I'm early retired (disabled) Law Enforcement. Don't know if I will ever get to go RVing myself so I RV vicariously through you each week.! Thanks again and safe travels!
Grayton Beach State Park also has cabins to rent...so don’t give up...just drive your 4 wheel RV(car) down and stay in a cabin! You still get the private beach.
Great video! All of this is right down the road from my home, Panama City so played in this area a bit when I was growing up. From Pensacola to Appalachicola really has the world's most beautiful beaches. Everyone come visit as soon as ya can!😉🙂 Thanks for sharing. Be safe, Be blessed 😉🙂💙🇺🇸❤
The state park, bike paths, and seafood look awesome! Thanks for giving away this "secret", although it looks like about a million other people were down there with you!
Great to see you guys BACK and in rare form, with something UNIQUE and interesting. I might head down that way sometime ... I never HEARD of 30A! I guess we could EXPECT to drop a chunk of change if we eat out at those places? Seriously, you guys are amazing! Keep bringing us the EVERY man stuff! Love y'all!
Another great video! Super Photography! Hey a couple of non camping questions... I totally enjoy your drone videos, do you have the non commercial permit? Because I am finding it difficult to fly mine in State Parks.... Legally! Also, since I get the impression you (Sean) are kinda techie, have you thought about the Onewheel? I am 56 and never ridden a skateboard or a snowboard and I was lousy on the SUP, but I did get a Onewheel. Obviously my learning curve is very shallow but since I am retired I have been working on it daily. This video motivates me to get better so I can cruise around in a beautiful place like this, and improve my SUP skills. Thanks for sharing this gem, it will be on our cross country trip in a few years!
We stay at Grayton and we love it. You can walk to the beach if you choose, or you can take your car/truck down, park and walk over the dunes on the boardwalk to the private beach. There is a shower house to use with bathrooms as well and it’s very very nice. We walked to town, and shopped at the local coffee shop, Grayton Grounds, and the corner grocery. It’s a nice walk or there are bicycles you can use. The tiny town of Grayton is 4 blocks wide and the people are wonderful.
I will take a lake michigan beach any day. I don’t have to worry about rust on my truck or fifth wheel. And don’t have to worry about getting flesh eating bacteria from the gulf. We spent the last winter on galveston island this year and all the nurses we met at UTMB (university of texas medical branch) warned us to stay out of the gulf waters because of all the bacterial infections.
I know those things do happen, but it's pretty rare. I've vacationed in this area my entire life, as have most of my friends and family. I don't know anyone who has ever gotten an infection from the water. Take that for what you will.
Beautiful video! So are doggies allowed on the beach? Problem I'm finding here in Florida is lots of state parks on beaches don't allow pooches on the sand!
Walton county residents and/or property owners can apply for a beach permit for their dogs. I'm not sure about the general public. It usually varies from city to city or county to county. We own a rental property in Walton county, so that's how we qualify.
LOVE 30a! Headed to Topsail Hill for two weeks in September and we’re literally counting the days. Thanks for the visual reminder of what we have to look forward to!
How do you fly your drone in a state park? The state parks that I have been in told me that I could not fly a drone in a state park. Maybe that varies from state-to-state.
It depends on the state. But in every state, the FAA controls the airspace. So in some states you may not be able to launch or land your drone on park property, but you are completely within your rights to fly through the airspace above it.
A bike path runs almost the entire length of 30A. The Walton County TDC Visitor Information Center could answer your question about electrics. 1-800-822-6877
You guys are phenomenal!!! I’ve become a real fan of yours. Thanks for sharing your secret places. I totally enjoyed this video. I’ll be watching and hope to visit in the near future. Happy and safe travels!!!!
