5G RedCap is a 5G standard proposed by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) to meet the requirements of low-bandwidth, low-power, and low-cost IoT devices 12. It is a simplified version of the 5G standard that reduces the complexity of devices and lowers their cost while providing faster data transmission than LTE Cat-M and NB-IoT 1.
