Thank you! I’ve been a full stack software engineer for around 7 years now, and ran an in person monthly dev meetup every month for 4 years straight, so I have a lot that I want to share that I know would’ve been useful to me. More content out very soon! :)
Hi Cadam, love your videos! 🎥 Do you handle the editing yourself, or are you open to collaboration? I'm a video editor eager to contribute to awesome content. Let me know if there's an opportunity to work together! Thanks! 👍 @@cadamstech1658
Hey man! Thanks for the great video! I am trying to transition from a low-code dev to a backend software engineer. I have been spending a lot of my free time learning backend related topic including Django framework, authentication, APIs, and followed a tutorial to build and deploy a full stack e-commerce website with React. I am also practicing a fair bit of Leetcode. What other areas should I focus on to become an engineer like yourself? I plan to start applying for jobs in the next few weeks. Many thanks!
Hey! That sounds great! I would say apply what you've learned towards a real project that you can demo! Ask your friends and family members if they could use a small app, build it for them, and then showcase it during the interview process! Hope this helps! More content out very soon! :)
Hey man. Appreciate any creator for this community. It takes a lot to do videos when you’ve a job like programming and developing. I’ve just watched your other video and commented there. Can you please make a sort of roadmap or tech stack with somewhat topics inside those techs everyone should know. I’ve started studying for 6 months now and I really don’t see how I can get out of JS loop. It in itself is such a wide language that I’ve been doing nothing but reading documentations one after the other and don’t know when it’ll end. I’m not someone who wants to learn the easy or Quick way but I’d really appreciate any sort of roadmap/topics one should learn to become dev to not waste time
Hey! Thank you, and I’ve replied to it! That’s a good idea! I can make a video on that soonish. I think I somewhat do this in my “become a front end junior developer quick” and “become a backend junior developer quick” videos if you haven’t checked them out already! I would say to learn the basics of js, but don’t get overwhelmed or stuck in “tutorial hell.” Try and build some real projects and learn as you go! Hope this helps! More content out very soon! :)
I'm a CS major with 0 experience. I made my 1st full-stack website recently using Bootstrap, NodeJS and MongoDB which performs all CRUD operations. I'm also familiar with React and made a mini-project of a Weather App on it. I've started applying for my 1st internship however, I see a lot of them requiring DevOps in AWS and/or Azure. Should I learn AWS/Azure next or focus on mastering what I've already learnt so far to secure an internship? Your guidance will be much appreciated.
Hey! Wow, sounds like you’re on the right track! It certainly wouldn’t hurt to learn some DevOps, but it’s definitely not necessary at an internship or junior level. A lot of that can be learned on the job, so I’d say stick to gaining a solid foundation on what you’ve learned so far because there’s a lot to it as it is. I think a solid next step (while applying for internships) is to try and build a small project for a friend or family member! Then you can list it on your resume, and have something awesome to show! Hope this helps! More content out very soon! :)
Hey! Great question! I think it depends what you want to get into as it’s pretty vast. The basics are fairly straightforward, but the more advanced topics and scenarios can get pretty crazy and complex. I’d say you should jump in and start learning it if you have an interest, so you can get a feel for it. It’s a great skill to have, and extremely valuable in the workplace! Hope this helps! More content out very soon! :)
Hey! Thanks for that awesome video! I'm a beginner (just started college's second year). I studied Python, made some projects (a game with pygame and simple desktop apps) but now I'm trying to learn backend development and some friends told me to learn PHP. I tried it for about 4 months and until now couldn't get confortable with it, even after I get used to the syntax, and became desmotivated about coding. Today I decided just return to Python, which is pretty fun for me! Do you think it's a good idea or should I try another language? Please ignore any english mistakes I'm brazilian.
Hey! Thank you! They’re both good languages, but seeing as you’re enjoying Python (Python was my first language too), you should stick it out! The most important thing is to focus on the fundamentals of programming. Once you have the concepts down you can easily pick up other languages. My advice is to stick to python and try and build some projects with it to showcase your learning. I hope this helps! More content out very soon! :)
S.Q.L.: Worth mentioning that it's actually pronounced "Ess-que-el" _unless_ you're a Microsoft shop. The original developers initially called it SEQUEL but that was trademarked, so S.Q.L. was the spelling and pronunciation. And yes, I realise that many newer / younger developers prefer the Microsoft pronunciation and probably think that both I and the ISO standard are wrong. Not much I can do about that. Sorry about the rant but I treat language like I treat coding and software architecture. 😊
Haha! Awesome! I’ve heard people pronounce it both ways (and have said it both ways myself). I ended up rolling with pronouncing it “sequel”, simply because it’s easier and flows off the tongue better than breaking each letter out. I didn’t know the history behind it though, so thanks for clearing it up! More content out very soon! :)
Hey! Yes I do! I’m still learning a lot when it comes to filming and editing. I’m open to tips, but I’m mainly wanting to edit myself for now. Thanks! More content out very soon! :)
senior dev? can u make a video on like when u first started, what kind of student you were in hs and college as well if u went to college. like ur full route from start to now and salaries per job too would be next level. thx u my fellow mixed tech brethren
