Welcome to the fifth episode of our series on Plab Guide Series. In this episode, we'll be discussing what a clinical attachment is, and how to get a clinical attachment in NHS/UK. A clinical attachment is a period of supervised clinical experience, usually between 2 and 4 weeks in length, in which a student or trainee is given an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a specific area of medical practice.
We'll provide you with the tips and advice you need to secure a clinical attachment in NHS/UK, and how to make the most of the experience. So join us as we guide you through this important step in the journey to becoming a healthcare professional.

Hey bro hope you’re doing good :))I’m Currently preparing for my PLAB 2 on march 15th , I’m from srilanka and my uncle is a consultant anesthetist in Norwich trust , so does this mean getting a clinical attachment at that trust is easy ?? ( as you told plan C) , or still I should email to consultants of that trust ????? Awaiting for your reply:)) 😅

Yes. You need a letter from your uncle. And then take that and ask him to send it to the HR and you also contact the trust, and hopefully you’ll get it !

Can I get GMC registration if I am out of practice for ten yrs means I will clear Oet plab 1 and 2 then if GMC will be denied then it will be disaster

You can’t have an employment gap of more than 15 days in your clinical experience. If you working as a doctor and want to give Oet Plab and get registered with Gmc, you can anytime.
