Thank you for checking out this latest video brought to you by RealPars.
Today you will learn about control or function blocks. Specifically what they are and when we use them with automation and PLCs.
Different programmers call them by different names, and that can be confusing, but I hope to clear things up for you today.

It would be nice to make a video about analog inputs and how to scale them, thanks for the effort.

Function Block programing is immensely far more useful than what has been explained here. Great video. But these blocks have enormous advantages in programing a very large project and in reducing many many errors.

If you look on www.realpars.com you will realize their most recent series of videos (except last Friday) has been on FBs, and FCs. I dont have access to those yet as it hasn't been made available yet for lifetime purchasers like me. But I have been waiting for years for it and have had to go find that information elsewhere.

Thank you realpars, l am one of your favorite fan. I checked when this video was made, l see its 3 years ago. However l want to add and highlight, function blocks(FBs) do exist for user program clarity and re-usability and your explanation was okay. Now the ones you named control blocks do not exist as control blocks but they are fuctions(FCs), since they were made for us already, they are rightly termed SFCs. Keep the fire burning.

Hi there! I have a question, Can a timer on delay or off delay, count to up? 1,2,3,4, etc. Thanks so much, regards from Mexico!
@realpars
@realpars 4 года назад
Yes, most On-Delay and Off-Delay timers have a parameter for time elapsed ("counts" up) and time remaining ("counts" down). If not, one or the other can be calculated: Time Left = Timer SP - Time Elapsed.
