In this video I'm giving an introduction to ODEs or Ordinary Differential Equations. Our goal is to model a world where properties are changing, and we note from Calculus that rates of change were encoded by the derivative of a function. But where did those functions come from? Often, the answer is differential equations. We're going to see two major examples of differential equations in this video, exponential growth and free falling under gravity. In both we will talk about infinite families of solutions, and the role of initial conditions.

This is a good example of why I couldn't wait to complete my calculus and differential equations courses quick enough to start enjoying other math. I somehow always felt that calculus and DE was obsessed with physics, particularly with launching projectiles.

Thanks, love the way you explain and simplify complex concepts. Will it be possible for you explain how Bayes theorem is applied in statistics, particularly the derivation of posterior distributions from a prior, in a future video.

Something like that. I'm actually going to do a few smaller playlists of about 15 videos each (ie laplace is its own playlist, already made, fourrier gets its own, systems its own, etc) as opposed to one big super playlist
