love this video. Too many folks get caught up in what someone else thinks about there bike. Sure, its nice for someone else to see your bike and compliment it, but at the end of the day if it makes you happy to ride then thats all that matters!

39 degrees? Dang man out here in CA we are still hitting mid 80’s in the Sierra Foothills. Lows in the 50’s. That was a solemn moment about Andrew. As a parent I think we all feel a bit of the pain when we learn of folks losing their kids so the Mom and Dad don’t have to shoulder it all. I hope the best for this family. If you buy a bike and add modifications to such as pipes stage one programmer any upgrades make it a performance bagger Adding lights or stereo doesn’t take those upgrades away it makes it more comfortable

Definitely too many haters out there that will straight tell you that your bike isn’t a performance bagger because you still run dual pips, or don’t have T-bars and lp6 headlights like they did with silverback. Never mind the fact that I’m getting performance that rivals 2-1 pipes from my KW duals. I 100% agree with you though that if you have made changes to make your ride more performance oriented then it becomes a performance bagger. Too many people think that if your bike doesn’t look like or rival a bike that runs on king of bagger that you don’t have a performance bagger. Those are 100% race bikes that very very few people in this world can ride an actually push the limits on, even though theirs probably thousands that will say they can ride just as good an push their bike like that too when in reality no matter how hard they think they ride it’s nothing compared to what those guys do.

My definition of a "performance bagger" is any stock bagger that's had performance modifications done to the engine, suspension and brakes or any combination of them. Sorry, had to cut out for work and finish the vid this afternoon; I 100% agree, the big wheel, stretched and lowered baggers are "show baggers" not performance baggers.

Any mechanical enhancement from stock to make the bike perform better. Ross Dock Park was there for the Sanzari Run a couple of weeks ago You and Sandy are the best!

What is and is not a Performance Bagger? Great topic for discussion and chopping it up here. Regarding the touring chassis models [Road & Street Glides, and Road Kings], IMO there's the 3 general categories: 1. Touring. 2. Sport Touring. 3. Sport. I would consider any Bagger [in these 3 categories] that has Performance Upgrades done to the Engine, Suspension, Braking & Controls to be a Performance Bagger. Mostly what I've seen that many folks have done to their bikes are: *Touring only...tend to focus on comfort, suspension, Stock or possibly Stage-1 (conservative exhaust) & sometimes Stage-2 w/emphasis on increased low end torque. Maximum storage capacity...typically to include a Tour Pack, removable when not Touring perhaps. *Sport Touring...very similiar to touring only but increased engine mods (Stage-1 w/more aggressive exhaust; Stage-2 w/more aggressive but not wild cam; Stage-3 for increased displacement & greater low-to-mid range torque) and bit more suspension upgrades than touring only (a balance between handling while retaining nice ride quality). *Sport...typically start to see more Stage-4 Level engine upgrades, high level suspension for max handling (and tires to match) and maximum upgraded braking capability. Typically aggressive (more volume) exhaust system. Shorter Bags preferred over stretched Bags nowadays. For all general categories: Seat upgrades, fairing and/or windscreen upgrades, audio upgrades, paint upgrades, and more. A stock or near stock Touring only bike but fitted with a Stage-1 Trask Turbo System...is it a Performance Bagger? Yes. Tom M., So. Cal. I consider my bike to be a Sport Touring style w/emphasis bit more on Sport than Touring, but tour capable. '21RGS, RDRS, Snake Venom/Black. stock compression (10.5:1) 114 with S&S Cam Chest Kit (465 perf. torque cam); S&S 2-1 Sidewinder (w/catalyst), Fuel Moto/K&N 3956 AC, Dynojet PV3b. Color matched HD chopped f/fender, headlamp surround, & CVO Lower Fairing/Chin Spoiler. Custom Saddlemen Road Sofa seat w/matching passenger backrest pad. HD 9" Lo-Chiesel Bars (Drag style). Have a spare set of 114 cylinders and new in the box Carillo 10.75:1 forged pistons at 4.125" bore. Machining the cylinders, going with the 4 & 1/8" bore makes a 114/117 a 120 cu. in. M8. Just something different without going the big bore route.

What a beautiful, crispy, chilly morning to gear up and ride; love that riding weather! Bro, Performance Baggers don’t have to be ready for the track, IMO. They can look any way you desire it to look. Any slight upgrades with exhaust, suspension, engine, beyond your factory set up, you’re riding a performance bagger. Now top off your tank and go ride the &#%! out of it.

I got little upgrades on my 20 road glide and I say it’s a performance bagger, getting a S&S intake put on now because the Harley one warped.

I just got a 22 cvo street glide. Can’t wait to put some miles on it

In my opinion when you buy a road glide or Street glide right off the showroom from Harley-Davidson you are already getting a performance touring bagger any upgrades that you do to the bike just makes it all that better whether it's engine performance extra lighting that's what makes Harley-Davidson so desirable because of how customizable they are specially on the street glide and the road glide.

Great video like watching your channel I just bought this year a 22 road glide ST so far have not done upgrades except two are pack and passenger running boards and seat That's probably all I'm going to do to this bike it has more than enough power and handling and I gone 6,000 mi on a road trip and it was very comfortable Love it just thought I would pass this on if you're ever on the west coast let me know I would love to ride with you.

Last bike was huge performance upgrade . Lights and top line stereo don't change the top condition like these nut heads think it just moved it further up hill. I would haved liked to see the full Rockford system install video you did on your bike. . I have the faring and rear seat Rockford system on my 21 cvo when got mine a great system. I probably should have added the front lower speakers but but didn't want to cut the right side bag for the second amp so keep showing your up grades to the new bike.

Performance Baggers have an aesthetic to them as well as performance upgrades. By your definition putting a cam and suspension makes it a perf bagger. That would make 90% of the bikes out there performance baggers. Besides performance upgrades, it has to be 14+ in the back, +2 in the front, short bags and shorty exhaust for cornering/lean angle. T-Bars for handling. It's a less is more look. The more LED's you put everywhere with apes and extended bags, 2 mufflers, the less it's a performance bagger. While silverback was a sick bike, it only went 50% of the way there as a perf bagger. Also most performance baggers aren't pushing 150 HP. The best bagger stunt riders are mostly riding early 2000''s road glides with 88's that were build up to a 96. While improving over stock is key, big bore is certainly not a requirement. Looking forward to the new build.

Its really cool that you did this!! My 19 RGS has Legends suspension front and rear and a Red Shift 468 cam. I would not call it a performance bagger I didn't do it for that reason it was more to eliminate the weak links for long hauls since I like long rides, I have 52,800 miles on the bike now.

Thst seat dude has on his 2021 RG looks fantastic Been looking for something that would be as comfy as the stock FLHR seat but STAY comfy when getting passes that 200 mile area when the butt starts going a bit numb. And maintained the larger passenger ass pad The missus is petite .. 125 soaking wet .. but still never want to put her thru what she dealt with when I had the fatboy (I still hear about the 6 hr run with her on the dvd case sized pillion pad)

Just saying, HATE that bridge! All those damn potholes when we came across last year! Watched my brother right in front of me drop down six inches, well this is going to hurt! hahaha

I'd say better brakes (even just pads), better suspension, better tires (than stock), a T bar set up from Kraus or Thrashin, a two into one exhaust, and you're well on your way. No lowered suspension, extended rear fenders/front wrap around fenders, no conchos, no get-back whips, no ape hangers, no coffee mug holders, no skulls, no leather finge, highway pegs, or any of that silly stuff.

Depends on how you ride it. I have a 21 FLTRK with some upgrades bars 2to1 breather etc. most performance bagger "Looking"bikes can't keep up. I don't even ride that hard. 46 years old be on 2 sence childhood. Some of these guys have no business on these newer bikes especially with said mods

Post WWII Vets came home and bought surplus Harley FL's and stripped them down and punched out Cubic inches and the Bobber was born so at its core a "performance bagger is a bobber. The young guys doing it now didn't start this they copied it and changed the name.

Let’s not get caught up in the semantics of what someone might classify your bike as. Your bike is what you want it to be. The specifics of a “performance bagger” are about as specific as the term “hypercar”.

Performance Bagger - 130+Hp/torque, suspension, better tires etc. in my opinion guys!

Got to disagree but just a lil bit. To me a performance bagger has to be well rounded for performance. Has to have upgraded: motor, trans, suspension, braking and tbar style bars. But like you said that's just my opinion. Doesn't have to be a high send build just all those areas upgrading

Hey Jhon good content but to be frank with you a 800 plus pound bike is nothing performance about that. Tbis is why i dont get Harley when they decided to call touring bikes performance baggers. A performance bagger is exactly what it is, a Dyna or soft tail such as a Low rider St with big power, good ground clearance for lean angle, light, nimble, right size tires and obviously needs bags. This to me is the real essance of a performance bagger. This will always be a debatable topic. Tick tock maybee trashed talked Silver Back because they look at the term performance bagger for what it really means. Raw power, bad ass street racer. not equiped with nothing else made just to perform. Just my honest opinion. Keep up the good work. Holy shft. Lol

Harley Davidson motorcycles are not performance machines. They to this day even the newer Milwaukee 8 version is still 1940/1950’s technology. HD’s are not fully counter balanced, they still use a large primary chain in oil, pushrods, bottom end cams, and overly labor intensive hot air cooled by design. Yes they run, but lack new smoother running technology.
