You’re answering questions about computers I never thought I’d understand! Excellent stuff, THANKS 🙏! Oh, BTW, I wonder why Xfinity/Comcast doesn’t offer Mobile Hotspot capability? In our vacation home, Xfinity is the only provider in town, but they sure charge enough & go down faster, than Verizon seems to in our city home, just 110 miles away. I wonder why!

I had a question concerning the difference between a hotspot and an access point. After watching this video, I think that things are clearer: a hotspot is a place where a device called an access point delivers wireless connection to the internet to the public that is within its range. So, hotspot -> place/ access point -> device.

I find that tethering is almost impossible with iPhones. This is in spite of turning the option "personal hotspot" in the "Settings" and sharing the password generated with the beneficiary.
