Never much used the check until I started bass fishing at close range. Applying the check with a light drag enables the reel to give an alarm and resistance to set the hook but NOT allow the rod to be dragged down by the fish into the water! Bass can give extremely fast and powerful bites as they feel the hook and run for it. Had some excellent fish and always lip hooked - they don't ever swallow the bait. Great video!
I just heard of a multiplier reel, and did a google search to find out what it is. I found this video entitled "What is a Multiplier Reel?" and foolishly assumed that it would answer its own question. I'll search some more, and get an answer somewhere.
I've been using multipliers since 1984 and started with an Abu 7000 then 7000c I still use then now but pen are fantastic to pen fathom 15s and super mag 2 don't like fixed spool reels I call then sausage grinders but hey ho each to their own
it just doesn't have the guide arm moving back & forth across the spool for the line that's the only difference. They even make bailess fixed spool reels.
1. A multiplier reel is the same and the same exact thing as a troller reel / a trolling reel and a conventional reel right? 2. A trolling reel and a troller reel are the same thing right?
