Hey I just wanted to say PAUSE what your doing because stocks USED to be the way to go. These days are different. Back then was the "golden age of stocks" where companies SKYROCKETED by the 21st century BUT don't expect that for the coming decade my friend. Stocks wont get you rich, realestate will.

You can think of it that way, yes. Human brokers were the norm a few decades ago. Nowadays, in 2019 (and beyond), computers do the brokerage work.

Without stockbrokers, how would you find the exact person that's willing to sell you the exact stock at the exact quantity and at the exact price you want to buy amidst the billions of people in this world? Stockbrokers (the companies) get paid in (1) commissions, (2) data sales, (3) interest on your deposits, (4) premium services (i.e. margins, subscriptions for products like research), etc.

You dont need a college degree. It helps and looks better. There are other ways around it.

I have plenty of friends with no degree and Series 7 and Series 63. But if you’re applying to a hedge fund they’re gonna want you to have a degree in finance or economics.

A candidate with Series 7 or Level IV Investment Advice with 200 Clients but no degree and 5 years experience will ALWAYS be hired over a MBA graduate with no clients .

Stock broker = real estate agents for stocks. They match buyers (who want to buy stocks) with sellers (who want to sell stocks).
