This video summarises the processes and the key elements to consider in relation to using a strengths-based approach. Learn more: www.scie.org.uk/strengths-bas...
The Care Act 2014 puts a strengths-based approach at the centre of someone’s assessment, care and support, highlighting 'What is strong' rather than simply 'What is wrong'. This means that strengths and talents are identified so that things that are important to people are taken into account. This can help to promote individual wellbeing. This film looks at how interventions can become holistic, person-centred and outcomes-focused to improve people's lives.

One of the reasons why the approach can be well embraced is that SBA can help clients (vulnerable populations) to break through the constrains of institutional barriers. We social workers can work on it!

it's a model that helps recognise strengths and identify issues.

No, I moved to a place that puts people in a box, by their label, and can only see their 'treatment' needs, and whether there they can 'access' treatment. They never measure satisfaction or progress from the client. That's who this model is speaking to. Trust me, I was appalled when I moved here 5 years ago.
