Great points in the first few minutes alone. The keeper position has evolved the last couple of decades. Keepers gotta be good with their feet, just as much as they are with their hands nowadays, to be in the top tiers. Keepers with good reflexes, but can only punt the ball down the field, are a dime a dozen. A keeper that can actually start a play of attack as an additional field player? It's two players in one, basically.
I LOVED IT, Alberto! Since you mentioned both Ederson and Neuer, I must say that the Brazilian's hammer foot when playing high balls and the German's cannon throws never cease to dazzle me when either launches a counterattack for their teams!
I was am offensive player in high school (class of 1991), and I HATED that keepers could always pick up the ball. The worst was when the other team had a throw deep in their own corner and they just threw over my head the keeper. It was worse than a goal kick.
Well FIFA reorganised the rules to make the offense more advantaged nowadays so you can't complain anymore. Tbs it's absolutely unfair that they can't win a ballon d or 💀
This is so good! Funny thing, I'm very calm with the ball at my feet when I'm on the field. When I'm in goal, I spend too much time looking at the field.
Campos is absolutely my favorite keeper. And Captain Tsubasa one of my favorite animes. I think they even designed Ricardo Espadas after him. I even made my Tsubasa oc a keeper and want to be like him ✨ He’s really just so cool.
