I do have a question though: is a top stitch like an actual setting you switch on or is it just a method of doing a straight stitch on the right side on the seam allowance? I apologize if that doesn't make sense! I saw another video where someone had switch out their presser foot for a different one to do their top stitch so I'm a little confused

I need to topstitch the waistband of a wool skirt, and I’m quite terrified. It’s also supposed to secure the back of the waistband. I have a basic brother sewing machine so I’m not sure how the foot measurement will be. (I am also Anastasia, by the way!)
