There are 5 vedanta philosophy: 1) Advaita Vedanta: Founded by Adi Shankaracharya, it emphasizes the non-dualistic nature of reality, asserting that the individual soul (Atman) is ultimately identical to the supreme soul (Brahman). 2) Dvaita Vedanta: Founded by Madhvacharya, it posits a dualistic relationship between the individual soul and the supreme soul, maintaining that they are eternally distinct entities. 3) Vishishtadvaita Vedanta: Propounded by Ramanujacharya, it advocates for qualified non-dualism, suggesting that while the individual soul is part of the supreme soul, it retains its individuality and unique qualities. 4) Dvaitadvaita Vedanta: Developed by Nimbarka, it synthesizes elements of both dualism and non-dualism, proposing that the individual soul is simultaneously one with and distinct from the supreme soul. 5) Shuddhadvaita Vedanta: Established by Vallabhacharya, it promotes pure non-dualism, asserting that the individual soul is not different from the supreme soul but is dependent on it.
Advaita Vedanta was formulated by Ashtavakra and Yajnavalkya who formulated the word Advaita too since the time of Ramayana. Adi Shankaracharya only took the philosophy forward. Rest of the philosophies came much later ~1/2k years only.
Note Advaita was propounded by Sankara . Their are many more Advaitins before him. Advaita is really old, like rishis like Yajnavalkya, Audolomi, Badarayana, were there before him.

I’m an avid astronomy reader and even before knowing about Advaita vedanta, I read something in a science article where it said “You are a piece of consciousness created by universe so universe can experience itself”. It blew my mind. Later when I got married to a madhwa brahmin, I started reading about Dvaita and Advaita philosophies and I feel Advaita vedanta aligns with my understanding of the universe. And you have explained it here very well.
You know i begined looking deeper into Lithuanian folklore and ended up looking into Hindu because Lithuanian folklore is so similar to hindu that i must say 2 are related somehow not sure how yet tho Example 1 in Lithuanian language words especially old words have invented meanings and the word for "god" is DIEVas and inverted meaning VEIDas that directly translate into word "Face" the word face is normaly referring to other people or yourself "you need to show your face in school tomorrow) Example 2 in Lithuanian folklore the the entire thing talks about how everything and everyone are connected to one another as result you need to do your best to maintain "balance" in all things so to speak Those are 2 examples are just ones i got from top off my head theres far more examples to top it off old "rituals" are dam similar to Hindu rituals its uncanny
Pursuit of perfection( perfection being awareness of our own highest form of consciousness) is the reality, every high u felt in your life was when you were super conscious and aware of your existence. Buddha teaches us the same, awareness can seem like suffering when you have no control over your mind, being unaware is when we get lost in our own minds(our reality) four noble truths revolve around awareness. Lets not argue about what is what and who is the great its a futile discussion, and the game analogy in this context is that, we are the players, we are the obervers, we are the programmers. Just level of awareness differs, this is explained in bhagvad geeta and mandukya upanishad very well, we act and even think according to our current guna, our guna guides us TODAY, and if u are aware of your guna u can and u will obviously change it your advantage right?
From a vedantic pov It's the philosophy with the most flaws that's why many indian philosophers called it neo budhhistic in nature lol that's why you should learn these philosophies from traditional gurus who will make you understand what it actually means and not from pretentious philosophy tards who have their own idea of kevaladwait which is far different from what adi Shankara philosophised
There are 3 types of Srutis in Vedas and Upanishads: BHEDA SRUTI: those sruti which bring out difference between Brahman and Jeev Advaitins reject these Sruti. One such example of bhed sruti is Brihadaranyaka 1.4.10 ABHED SRUTI: Those srutis which bring out oneness between Brahman and Jeev. Dvaitons fully reject these srutis. One such example of this sruti is Mundak Upanishd 3.1.1-2 GHATAK SRUTIS: Those which resolve the contradiction between Bhed ans Abhed srutis, both Advaitins and Dwaitins reject them. BUT all shlokas and mantras of Vedas and Upanishads are equally important and are to be accepted as a whole, not in parts. So VishistAdvaitins use Ghatak srutis to resolve the contradiction between Bhed and Abhed srutis and has defeated Advait and Dwait a million times. Its the best and most practical of all which considers all the shlokas and mantras of Vedas and its Vedangas as equal and provides the best relation between Brahman and Jeevatma. However, asserting that "universe and I aren't separate, we're one" overlooks empirical distinctions between individual entities and the objective universe. While interconnectedness exists, individual identities and the universe maintain distinctiveness. Advaita Vedanta promotes unity in essence, it's not in a literal sense bro
Objective mein to philosophies hain hi nahi apart from charvaka...and advait term itself means non dual that is the entity is one with the god...acc to mandukya upanishad the consciousness of ours is the ultimate reality or param brahman and when we shed the maya or ignorance we become one with the ishwar or brahman..thus tatt twam asi...you are the god...and dualism or dvaitvaad talks about we and ishwar are different...

The Brahman is like a screen (a screen of pure existence, consciousness, and bliss), and the world is like a scene being played on that screen, in a sense the self-luminosity of the screen. The world is apparent but unreal. In Essence there is no scene, there is only the screen. The screen of consciousness is always witnessing the world, but it is still not interacting with it, and thus is a sense it remains 'pure'. The Jiva must realise that the awareness within itself (the reality, and it's real identity) is that of this screen of consciousness itself, and not the scene being played.

It is felt by individual after so much meditation. No one can tell you how it feels when you attain Nirvana/ enlightenment. Enlightenment can not be expressed in language. That is why you yourself have to realise 😂 . No one can do it for you.
To elaborate on this, when emotions grip your heart, takes you on a ride. When worldview you created as a child is gone and all you can see is darkness, hate, enemity. Reminding yourself that we are not the waves of the ocean but the ocean itself, you can mold yourself, keep your ego in check, build from scratch a 100th time, have a solid view on reality. It can be easy to think that we are just 1 wave and once its gone we are done, its definitely not the case right? One failure, one betrayal doesnt define us or our story in anyway. Impermanance and awareness is everything we have got. If we constantly be in conflict with the one around us, we may never experience life as it is and keep wandering, complaining, whining. In brief, we are the same, relax! And obviously compassion and empathy is just natural to us then. Isn't it?
