Hi Craig, This is an excellent video! Thank you! I appreciate how truly authentic you and KJ are, and I value your perspectives. We move to Ajijic at the end of June and can't wait to connect.
For me, this video ties as one of my fav "Remarkable Life" videos, on the same level as your 6-month review. I've been here visiting for a bit over two weeks now and am recognizing everywhere you're walking, including the street that my place is on. Today is Mother's Day and the florist at 11:55 in the video was really busy, as were the floral merchants at the Wednesday market. I dined at Baja Norte two nights ago and it was fantastic. Keep up the great work. And, like you, I've learned a lot as I go along each day.
Take a breath Craig :) I hear all those honest words ("we are learning, we don´t know a lot of things") is really refreshing; living abroad forces you some way to improvise, to adjust your routines, etc. Specially in this county (my country) where a lot of things are not structurated same way than you came from. So is always a learning process that definitelly make you mature in some ways you probably weren´t trying. You and KJ are already a really nice guys, so challenge the unknown is like additional points in overtime :) I guess the tree is a know it as "Flamboyan" SUERTE AMIGO
Hi. You guys live by a lake. But I'm not seeing any videos yet about the lake! How do people enjoy the lake in this community? Is it fishing, is it sightseeing, is it something I'm not aware of?
Good idea for a video! The lake is not really swimmable but there is a lot of activity around it and on the malecons. I'm sure there is a lot we could talk about. Thank you.
My uncle by marriage Howie Feldstein lived in Ajijic for years and died during covid. Howie is one ofvthe reasons we are thinking about moving there next year. Do people payvtheir respects at the skull wall or would that be frowned upon?
@@kimberlytitlebaum2523 Good question! Yes, people pay their respects and each year the wall is lit with candles... and if you know where his skull is (if he has one), you can light it yourself (if it's not up real high where a ladder would be needed - they have people that do those)
Hi guys! My name is Meagan. My girlfriend, Shannon, and I, live in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. We have decided to sell our place here and move to Mexico! We aren't sure where yet- I feel like when I get online to look at homes, I can only find homes that are like 1 million and up! I plan on getting the relocation guide. Do you know of any good sites for homes online? Or do you recommend we just actually go down there and go from there?
Hi Meagan! Nice to meet you. The Mexico Relocation Guide definitely has referrals! Also... the private Facebook group they have allows you to interact with others and find out more about realtors and personal experiences. Be careful of random searches... unfortunately, there are some scams out there. If a deal looks too good to be true ... it likely is. But anything thru the MRG is totally legit. I always recommend seeing a place before committing- but that could also mean having a trusted person or service do independent video or walk thru etc. The websites out there are often focused on high dollar buyers. Many times, your average priced homes in areas with foreign interest, sell FAST.. so there isn't a need to market widely. A local realtor can be your best bet. We would be honored if you used our affiliate link (in our video descriptions) to sign up for the Mexico Relocation Guide. It really helps us out with just a tiny referral fee. But. Regardless.... I definitely recommend it. There are excellent resources on real estate. It may actually be your best bet to get commented to Realtors and learn about what it is like to buy or rent here. Also, we have a video on our channel with a local trusted realtor ... check out our video on Steve Cross & see info in the description. Thanks so. much!
Need to get you a driver or 2..thats a long walk..esp with groceries..not to sound overly lazy..but for 39pesos they deliver ..well 39 to my house..they were here at 3pm actually..its just convenient to get beer, soda, waters, moms prescriptions..tp..that kind of stuff..
We really enjoy the walking! It's also helped to reverse some of the mobility issues we were both starting to have from flying desks for sooooo many years. Even when we do get a car, we're actually still planning on walking most of tge time (or if it's a big haul we're making)... It can be tiring, for sure - but some days when I've been carrying 40 lbs of groceries in my backpack for a mile, it makes me remember being in the military! Lol - KJ
That's a GREAT option. Especiallyfor those who may be impaired or have mobility issues. I normally don't walk but I wanted to show everyone that it is possible- plus show a bit of town. It's not a terrible walk AND I did take a cab back! (-craig)
