What is Allele?
In this video I am going to explain what is allele. How alleles are different from genes. Alleles are different forms of genes which are located in same position in a homologous chromosome.
I have explained here with handmade notes and diagrams.
This video will be useful for all the students of class 10th , class 11th, class 12th, NEET, BSc. , MSc., Engineering biology, who want to clear their basics in genetics.

aree ariiehh?! u mean kya ek chromosome ek hi character ki genes carry karta hai,, haina? shayad aap bhul rhe hain remember chromosome 1 pe 2968 genes hote hain?(the most in one single chromosome-DNA FINGERPRINTING SE PAHLE WALE TOPIC PE MOLECULAR BASIS) toh kya 2968 genes sirf ek hi character show karne ke liye honge sochiye??obsly *NHI* wo hum bas represent karte hain jo character hum padh rhe hote hain use jese isme mam ne alag alag colours se represent kiya hai..

Very Good question :) Jab hum genetic level pr bat krte h..DNA level pr bat krte h.. to hum gene aur Alleles term use krte h..aur jb hum phenotype ki bat krenge to Allele k expression ki bat hogi.. jise traits bolenge. e.g . jab tall aur dwarf height ki bat hogi..to tall aur dwarf expressions h Alleles k jise aap dekh skte ho to ise traits bolenge pr Jo gene hoga jaise tt,Tt aur TT ye sb different Alleles honge. So, Alleles term is more of genotypic terminology and traits is more of phenotypic terminology.
