This helped tremendously. I'm looking to buy a home in a Zone AE in Arizona, but after reviewing FEMA maps I am pretty sure the house sits about 2 feet above the baseline flood elevation. Actually, since FEMA started using risk rating 2.0, to rate their flood insurance policies, they no longer count the crawlspace or even a basement as a floor.The floor actually begins at the top of of the foundation, so crawlspaces no longer count as a floor in FEMA’s eyes That’s old legacy rules, and basements, is not something that really qualified.
