Who decides what should be the price of IPO? Is it decided by the owner or approved by any govt. accredited agencies? If so what is the responsibility of such an agency for the rate they are recommending? If the price of IPO falls after listing in stock market, whether the agency which recommended the offer price of IPO can be sued? If not who guarantees that the agency did their job with due diligence and did not cheat the public?

A SEBI registered merchant banker appointed by such company , basing on merits of company decides the fixed price like (100,200.... Like fixed ) in fixed price method.....or in book building procedure company with the consultation of merchant banker decides the price brand means range ex.. price is between 100 to 200..like wise ... Public quotes the price, and before listing company decides the cut off price .... No agency take the responsibility of anything.... If ur cheated by the information supplied by the company u can directly sue the company ...for the loss incurred to u...

U can.... Compare the price this company share , with another company share...having same capacity...like u can compare cap gemini share with Accenture as both are software concerns almost same turn over....but not compare with kcr cement concern which is manufacturing concern 2)u can go with p/E ratio... Calculated based on balance sheet items...
