@Charlotte Varanasi is my native and I am away. Thanks for the Aarti visuals. The city is crowded and the honking is ubiquitous...the reason why the ghats seem to carry the stench and too small is due to high water level from the monsoon and much of the banks are under water. Sarnath excavation complex would be interesting. The better time to be here would be November to February. Beyond that the weather isn't moderate.
@@vsharan2k the Aarti was great, I didn’t think we would be able to get good spots to see it tbh! If I am lucky enough to go back to Varanasi I will be visiting Sarnath again , it is a shame I had to leave but we were on a time limit unfortunately
The vlog was built quite well,❤❤ so it was fun seeing it. I was just thinking that I wish I was with you, it would have been more fun if I could have gone out with you, but you are missing a lot of things there, just like the morning aarti at aashi ghat amd eveningaarti dashasumar ghat , you did not see Namo Ghat, you did not try some street food like pan there, you did not try the dosa, you did not eat the chat, then the corridor inside, then the evening aarti of 80 Ghat, you could have seen the aarti at night while voting and you did not do bathing in the Ganga, you did not do Ganga Star, you went at the wrong time, there is a complete flood there at this time, so if you had come in winter, you would have shown you the beautiful birds, it would have been more fun.❤❤❤ Hope next time you visit i will we your tour guide 😅
We do more than you see on my vlogs but I don’t record everything as I also want to live in the moment and not have to film everything I do. Unfortunately we don’t have the perfect timeline to be able to just go to all these different places at certain times so we’re trying to fit in as much as we can on this trip. Thanks for the advice though and if we go back at some point we will do more
3:40 6:26 welcome to old India 😂 6:13 Capitalising religious place 9:29 12:10 It will be a little peaceful but only in yoga meditation teaching places, on roads it is just honking 16:13 24:12 Sometimes they charge extra just to take pictures and give you something like a card and you have to wear it like you wear in a corporate job. 20:36 That was shocking to me🫨 those kids called you s***. I never thought kids were saying this word to elders 😶 If those kids were in my place they would've been kicked out of the house at that moment! This type of moment scares me not just foreigners but also for locals, it has been so normalise that kids are growing up with such a mindset I hope other tourists watch your video and read the comments and prepare for their safety! Watch that scene again and be careful next time if such a scene happens again be alert, ask local police emergency no and keep it on your speed dial every time you visit new places! 24:40 It's actually not just in India but most countries do the same thing. 26:06 Because Buddhism doesn't have millions of gods, it's just one enlightened man's teaching of wisdom, they do have stories but they do paintings, not carvings. Hinduism has many stories like Ramayana, Mahabharat etc so you can carve the whole story on a temple 💁🏻♀ 27:00 30:39 I actually didn't know about this place I'm adding it to the bucket list now. Thanks 👍🏻
I thought those kids were being horrible but we couldn’t understand obviously, they were shouting and then laughing so we got the hint it wasn’t nice words they were saying haha. Thanks for letting me know what it actually was! And thanks for all the info on my video I’m glad you enjoyed it and learnt about a new place :) all the best to you
Countries adjoining the Himalayas used to be flooded and rivers overflow during rainy season hence muddy at many places. Thats why Varanasi is not so clean, ghats &river banks are muddy even Ganges water is also muddy. Visitable places in Varanasi-Sarnath,Vishwanath temple,Krim kund,Sankat mochan temple,Kaal-bhairav temple, namo ghat,Dashashwamedh ghat,Assi ghat etc The best time to visit India altogether is March-June. Even we Indians avoid travel in rainy season. Your visit would not be good as i undrestand.
Its flood time in Varanashi .. you are in the wrong season in Varanashi ..so everything seems more congested but in normal time hopefully you would feel better
@@SumanMondal-tk4fk yeah Varanasi was all flooded a week before we got there so it wasn’t the best time to visit, but hopefully I can go again in the right season and compare my experiences
Please visit leh, ladhak which is mini tibet and thinksey monastery which is called mini patola palace ,and many monasteries, dharamsala in Himachal where lama is present
@@nikhil6948 I do a lot of research before going to places, but ultimately I like to explore them in my own way. And I don’t like to know everything about a place otherwise there will be no surprise when I get there. All the best :)
70% Indians live in North India and hence mostly crowded and have basic issues. 25% Indians live in South India which is mostly clean except the capital cities. Visit for Natural beauty -Kullu,Manali,Rishikesh,Laddakh,Kashmir, Darjeeling, Munnar, Lakshdweep,Ooty, Kodaikanal,Coorg,Madikeri,Goa ,Kerala and the mighty Himalayas etc To see modernity- Gurugram,Noida, Bangalore,Pune,Mumbai (mostly),New Delhi (not old Delhi),Hyderabad (not Sikandarabad),Ahmedabad For spiritually-Google about authentic kriya-yog teacher and learn from him. Precautions-Stay in good hotel,Eat in good restaurants (even Indians avoid street food),Travel by good trains (Maharaja,Vande Bharat, metros,Rajdhani) and by rented cars. Avoid travel in rainy season because muddy at many places. Avoid capital cities & religiously important cities as those are pretty chaotic/crowded and dirty at many places. One should research well before travelling to an unknown place.

I've read that temples in Tamil Nadu are not accessible to non Hindus - so not accessible to western tourists, which is really a pity. As Charlotte experienced entrance restrictions and conditions into monuments especially for western tourists so did we. Made us feel a bit discriminated against and not very welcome. But that was mainly the official side of things. The real India still is great on the whole. (Except for people just desperately trying to get at your money - which on the other hand is understandable as they are poor.)
@@SandraGartner-hj9ty it is a shame that some places don’t let you in for being from a western country, people can still be Hindu even if they’re not ethnically from a country where Hinduism is prevalent :(
Neelgai half looks like cow from back n head like dear It's nearly end of monsoon season... So you will find mud and wet lands at many places along the Ganga... Varanasi is the place where almost all hindus go to perform rituals for the dead/ after their death.... So it will be almost as crowded n crazy almost all year along...

@@Charlottemihell But they are Indian citizens right? They have been paying taxes in India and earn in INR therefore get subsidized just like education in India. Non-residents are also considered citizens. For natives, increasing prices would lead to a large chunk simply not visiting these places!
