All jokes aside, bill cypher actually is from the 2nd dimension as said in the Wierdmagedon episodes. He says he was trapped in their. He then entered the 3rd dimension but he could not be from the 4th dimension because the ♾ sided dice that ford gave dipper was transferred to the 3rd dimension. This proves that he can’t be in the 4th dimension because dipper, Ford, Stan, and Mabel could see the ♾ sided die. This shows that they would be able to see bill cipher if he was from the 4th dimension. Please like this so he could see it.
You are right, he does reveal that he is from the 2nd dimension in the 3 part weirdmagedon episode, however that happened in 2016, when the series ended, while this video was made in 2015, before he revealed it. Just wanted to let you know.

The idea of bill once being a human could’ve made gravity falls even more interesting and maybe a bit more psychological. The theme of “losing your humanity” could be established by how bill not only lost his humanity physically, but also mentally as well. This theme shows how characters like ford were on the brink of losing his humanity (albeit, mentally and the transition is technically gradual as well) yet was saved by his family. It would’ve driven gravity falls’s theme of family and even further and may even would’ve introduce a theme of psychological fears and problems
According to AXOLOTL, My theory is Bill Cipher is a Demon from the 4th Dimension. He burn his own dimension with a reason. Update: Bill is actually 2 dimensional, but somehow achieved the rank of becoming interdimensional ('a dream demon'), at least for a moment before finding himself trapped within the dream/mind scape, or in our world's terms, the astral plane. Him being a shape and pretty much a symbol, he is only granted power through our perceptions, as shown in the confrontation in 'Dreamscaperers.' He is literally powered by our beliefs, a Placebo effect in a way. So when he entered through Weirdmaggedon onto our 3D dimension, he wasn't actually 4th dimensional, but managed to carry his powers with him. I hypothesize the only reason this is possible, as well as when he interacted with a human within the dreamscape, is because he's, again, interdimensional, and still carries our influence with him once he enters our world. BUT he's not 4th dimensional, notice he didn't alter time in anyway during the three episodes and was cut off guard multiple times. He's limited as long as he was 3rd dimensional. His goal from there was to become 4th dimensional, which would just completely destroy the multiverse. My theory for this was due to us not being able to percieve the 4th dimension, him attempting to get to that level would be pointless since he would immediately lose any power. That would be his limit. If we can't percieve it, it's either not going to happen, or he'll end up completely breaking it. Much like an ice cube in a cold glass of water attempting to continue on by dropping in the Tropical Pacific Ocean. And Mabel's bubble doesn't count as manipulating time. Again, that pocket dimension was completely based on Mabel's beliefs and perception, destroyed as soon as she wished to leave.

TREY the Explainer I know that this video is old and I'm not sure how much of the second season was out back then, but I have two things to say about the theory: First, just that Bill says he had a body in the past doesn't mean it was his own. Maybe he just possessed someone else some time ago. As for Bills dimension, I'm pretty sure that the transdimensional portal leads there, because of it's design and the stuff that McGucket (hope I spelled his name right) said after starring into it, so it's likely that Stanford will explain in the future what Bills home dimension is like.

Your wrong, basically the Mindscape is the area inbetween dimensions, the only way to get inside the mindscape would be if you dont dwell in any dimension, so instead your just put in the border of dimensions. A theory is that Bill is from the second dimension ,but others say that some of Bills friends arent 2D so this theory couldnt work, however if you listen closely to the start of weirdmagedon, you can hear bill saying "Here are the INTERDIMENSIONAL criminals and nightmares I call my friends" this implyes that they arent from any dimension, or that they simply travel between dimension, i still state my case that bill and his friends are inbetween dimensions, not belonging inside any dimension, and being trapped between them. Bill in fact originated from the 2nd dimension, describing it as a realm for “flat minds in a flat world with flat dreams." He got tired of being constrained by this dimension, and destroyed it. He then took over the “Nightmare Realm”- an inter dimensional space existing between the 2nd and 3rd dimensions, not bound by any rules or laws. Due to the chaotic nature of the realm, he learned it would eventually collapse in on itself. Therefore, he set out to find a 3D being who he could manipulate into creating an inter-dimensional portal, to give him a 3D form. Being a 2D being, he could only manipulate people via their dreams and minds, until he finally got his 3D form at least. After getting his 3D form, he became a 5D being by killing Time Baby.

I think Bill is only real when he is summoned or when he created the rip through dimensions. He uses telepathy to make him appear to dipper when he wants to make a deal. He projects himself in their head to convince them to make a deal. This is how he manipulates reality and can pretty much do anything. So when he’s not appearing to a single person. His powers seem very limited in reality. Because he cannot do them anything in reality, only in their minds. I don’t know if it’s true but it does explain why he simply doesn’t possess a sock puppet and breaks the rift.

So something that I find odd is at 1:49 Bill shows a hand as if gesturing to halt or stop; being said, it has 6 fingers. I’m not sure if this is a nod to anything, but in animation, making 5 fingers is har; that’s why people always have 4 fingers. For them to not only to make all 4 fingers, but add an extra in. Then have it say to stop. Seeing as we have 5 fingers, maybe it’s symbolizes something 1 level higher than ourselves. To us it is a three dimensional world, with the fourth dimension appearing as time, but to a four dimensional being it could all just be a four dimensional flip book.
I don't think Bill was human. He didn't seem to understand Dipper's body at all, and was fascinated by it. He didn't know how to even walk, and tested the durability of Dipper's body. Maybe Bill had a body, but I don't think he was human.
He did mention in the 'Bipper' episode that it's great to have a physical form before, so he is confirmed to have had a body but we won't know f he had a legitimate human form.

Maybe in the next episodes in the season since Bill is probably going to start the upcoming apocalypse, the "good guys" can't defeat him in their dimension so they probably use the portal to go to the mindscape to stop him. Technically, bill was in their minds at the same time, therefore allowing the gravity falls crew to see and communicate with eachother in their own minds, but they couldn't escape it because, well, the mind is like a maze to us humans.
A couple things you missed: Wherever Bill inhabited during the story line of Gravity Falls (like you said the mindscape which I very much agree with) it wasn't his original dimension. I know this from the the Time Axolotl, who once said in a poem about Bill ''saw his own dimension burn, misses home and can't return'' this refers to when Bill set fire to his own dimension killing his family and everyone he knew in the process, I do not know what his original dimension was, since Bill is older than time itself there isn't any clues to it that I know of. Also when Bill said it had been a long time since he inhabited a body this does refer to him once being a human but in a different way (more on that later) anyways like I said Bill is older than time itself and has possessed many humans in his time (including Ford) so that's why he wasn't a human.
